Limitations
teardropdangel
Disclaimer: I don?t own Trigun.
AN: First Trigun piece, so I apologize beforehand if it bites.
This is in response to a challenge at the Central Park Cafe.
Millions Knives was at it again. Being confined to a sick bed with limited power didn?t hinder him from his goal?wreaking havoc on the human race. Of course, he was restricted to only two spiders in which to torture, but Knives was never one to waste an opportunity.
He was, after all, a superior being.
Presently, the short, ill-tempered spider his deluded brother kept around was daring to glare at him. It amused considerably that this one even had the gall to look him in the eye. He grudgingly admitted to himself that prodding the dark-haired human was enjoyable. It was so easy to rouse her anger.
Now the spider stared at him with face flushed with rage.
?What do you mean Vash left?? she boldly demanded. You wouldn?t think that she was talking to a mass-murderer.
A pale blond eyebrow lifted in a slow, imperious arch. ?Are you not familiar with the term? He is not here at the moment, gone, he went away-?
Something close to a growl resonated from the female?s throat. ?Knives,??it was his name gritted out through grinding teeth??where did your brother go??
?It isn?t any concern of yours where my brother goes. He is a superior being and does not have to answer to you, a mere human.?
It was interesting to watch the tick move jerkily over her eye.
?I just cannot understand why my brother allows you to make his life a living hell,? he mused aloud. ?You, a small spider who suffers from the delusion that my brother could actually love you.?
The hot glare immediately froze and those dark blue eyes cool.
He went on before she could respond. ?Why do you think he hasn?t said anything? He has more than enough power at his disposal to read your mind. He has probably already read it and knows of your attraction toward him. He is just too much of a damned fool to come right out and say that he couldn?t possibly feel anything toward you. He is in love with a woman who has been dead for over a century.? His voice lowered in a soft, condescending tone. ?He doesn?t trust you. If he had, he would have told you about me earlier. He would have given you the whole story. He would have been honest.?
The spider took his news astonishingly well. She just frowned, her hand angled on her hip with a slight tilt to her chin. ?Vash doesn?t trust you, either.?
Knives frowned in return as the female spider marched out?along with his dinner.
It wasn?t until later that night he realized something was different about the dark-haired spider.
She had had a silver ring on her hand.
