[poetry] Moments I-V
Posted: Sun Oct 20, 2002 2:21 am
Five 1+R poems. I am considering adding to the collection in future.
Title: Moments
Author: Psyche (L2Psyche00@aol.com)
Archive: http://www.gwaddiction.com/
Disclaimer: If you're reading this, you should probably already know what goes here.
Rating: PG, at a guess.
Warnings: rough poetry written by me, um... angst-ish, sort of violence, mentions of death... I doubt there's anything to worry about, particularly if you're a seasoned reader of fanfiction.
Pairings: 1+R (Open to interpretation, really, but I definitely had Heero and Relena in mind.)
Spoilers: none
Feedback: All comments welcome, including criticisms.

Moments
A Collection of 1+R poems
I
dewdrops on roses;
crystals on white.
Thieftaken redness
faded,
died.
(flowers for sand that you tend every day)
(petals bury you,
choke;
sickscented live death)
& all of a sudden
metal wraps round my spine.
Fitness to fall to the glinting blue sky.
Tracings of sunlight,
Pacing the moon,
Dusk, dust and perfection
wavered,
lied.
(dusty perfection
wavered,
sighed)
Stuck jewels with weightness
pound-pounded in, pounded still.
Heavybound books sickfulhit at my neck.
(softsoothing touch to the base of my skull)
& soft rain and pansies
all purple and bright;
And assassinkilled redness
burns in my eyes.
II
Starshrink night,
Searing murk,
Broken glass and orange stains.
Trudge,
Spit,
Huddled tightly packed scowl;
Scrapes and sores on lifeless earth.
And glistening fumes,
Sludged away fuels,
And yellowed gold that shines so dull;
And chew and smoke
and swallow nicotine,
And need to be running and tramp so slow.
And sewage sticksweetness
that taints all around,
Including the lonesomebrave fadingbrave moon
Salve.
III
Diamond grasped,
Clenched in the fist.
Crushed like an egg,
Centre oozed into bones.
Filled up with sickfulness,
Shells bleeding hands,
So crisp shining fragile
To press to my lips.
IV
Cold, damp like the throbbing of steel,
Thoughts, pale as the day they were born,
Glass, shining back emptiness, light
Sparkles and glimmers all through the brief dawn.
The blueness that tears at my every desire,
The tears speaking lies as they sink through my cheeks.
The redness of blood on my lips.
Soft, dullness and heaviness wait,
Sink, bubbles that float on still lakes,
Weight, dullgolden hammered out life,
Starlight that flinches as day dares approach.
V
Trickle through the lighted fire
As bursting daybreak quickens, expires;
Trip and curse through muddy earth
And breathe and breathe and Fall.
Jewel-toned colour, longagoes,
Sweet young petals, wilted brown;
Harshness, throbbing, fiery lines,
Swallowed thoughts and snuffed out minds.
Clanging voices strain the nerves,
Scratched out lives with stolen verve;
Scraping skin and tasting dust,
Silver, bright as gentle trust.

Thank-you very much indeed for reading.
