Prison Never-ending
By: Mellie

I walk alone,
Memories dim
Past forgotten...

My gait is slow
Breath uneven.
Wobbling forth
in life eternal.

I have no past
Nor a future.
I am just-
a passing mist.

I remember
a somber face,
an appartion.
Nothing less
but so much more.

Help my soul
return to form
I need him here,
Crave his touch.

Each night I cry
to return home.
But it was lost
the day I left
And went forth.

Failing strength
Ebbing life
Gave it all
For just a breath
of cursed Immortality.

I lost my love
my home
my hope.
For what?
Never dying
Never hurting
Never feeling.

Mine eyes cannot behold
My fingers cannot grasp
I am a cool shadow
A whisper of a thought.

How I wish
I could be more.
Hold him,
Kiss him,
Remember him.

But instead
I control time.
I persuade death
To claim him
Make him mine again.

Is it shallow
To try grasp hope?
To try sing love?

The person I was faded
The instant I became
This empty shell
Nothing more than
A mere spirit?s breath.

I accept my prison
Accept his vitality.
We can never be
Nor will again be
What we were
Or who we wanted.

Lovers.

With that word,
I shatter.
With that word,
I am lost.
With that word,
It ends.
