Heartless?was he really one of them? His thoughts carelessly plucked at his tormented existance, always asking and wondering. It alienated the beliefs that he had come to cherish. Memories that were build on that never ending trail, now seemed hopelesly unreal. What am I?

Confused and forlorn among the shadows he would never actually consider his existance. A single train of thought that would come between him and his master was severely punished. So endlessly he obeyed, fearful to face his own reality. Am I real?

Light would occasionally flicker into his darkened world. Happy childhood memories of someone, never fully understanding. Faces and voices always calling out to him, promising an end to the darkened shadows of his being.

In the end it felt wonderful and unreal, so perpelexing toward his unimaginable fear. The fear of nothingness without these memories and another world even blacker than this one. No! Shaking his head the boy desperately tried to block out those frightful thoughts. Unsure of them even now it would be best to exist in this state then to give into the unknown.

Then somethin further in the distance sniffed, a heavy hiccup followed. There was something in his darkness, crying. A gentle light had come to life within the darkness, guiding the boy into its depth. It grew brighter with every step he took.

The endless trek across the shadowed world brought him unto an unknown territory. He shielded his eyes from the pulsating light and stepped into the brightness.

Within the illuminated place a heavy sobbing and muffled crying reached his ears. There inside that graying place sat a crouching figure of a girl. Her small frame shook with heavy sobs as she sat with her back to him.

Used to the loneliness within, the boy confusingly stepped forward.
Hesitant at first then with a gentle smile curving on his lips, he aproached the small girl.

Still sobbing and ignoring his presence altogether, the girl simply sat huging her knees to her chest. Her sandy yellow hair shook as she rocked herself back and forth in silent comfort.

Sitting down he placed his hand upon her shoulder. Gasping, she stopped and with a tear streaked face looked up into the strange pale-blue eyes locking them with her blue ones. Inside that heavy bluish gaze, still smiling he brought his hand upon her face and carefully wiped a tear away.

She stared at him, confused at his existance. The gentle gesture took away the doubts of his reality. How had he managed to find his way into her world? Not bothering at her question the girl lunged upon the boy hugging for the reasurance of his presence.

Unblinking he sat with a girl clinging in his arms. Her head burried on his shoulder as she brought up her arms around his neck.

Confirmed by her reality, he brought his arms around her tiny body. Smilling by his find he crushed her to his chest. The boy?s soft whispering slowly calmed her and within a few moments she fell asleep upon his shoulder still refusing to let go. Chuckling to himself he braced her weight within his arms and getting up, the boy walked into the welcoming world of the darkness.
