Surprised to see me pop up, aren't ya? *wink*

I know I'm not the most active moderator, but I just wanted to check in and shout out to all the good 'ole alternate pairing fans and then hi to the newbies *waves*! And visitors, hello!

Also, I just wanted to quickly remind everyone what an Alternate pairing is that we feature in this forum, since we do have new members joining, and it's a little confusing where to put things. So please bear with me...

This showcase features alternate pairings from the Gundam Wing universe only. That means, the main couples of the fictions in the Alternative showcase must (1) be characters from Gundam Wing (either anime or manga stories), (2) must feature a boy x girl pairing, and (3) must *not* be one of the canon couples.

The current generally accepted canon couples from Gundam Wing are:
Heero x Relena, Duo x Hilde, Trowa x Midii Une, Quatre x Dorothy, and Wufei x Sally. (You can find stories featuring these couples in the Believe Your Love Showcase).

So, Alternatives basically features every other pairing you could imagine from Gundam Wing...TrowaxUne, TrowaxRelena, DuoxRelena, QuatrexNoin- you name it! The list goes on and on and on...

I hope this helps clarify the focus of this forum. If anyone ever has a question about the Alternatives showcase, or which showcase a story might fit- PLEASE don't hesitate to email or private message me.

I know a lot of people like the Relena x anyone fics, but I was just thinking maybe you guys could host a regular alternatives contest. The only limitations being really that it's alternative, non-yaoi, and non-gross(like old guys/girls and stuff). I've wanted to enter some of my fics into contest but lately all my stuff has been alternative coupling and not relena as a main character. So what do you think?

sorry i haven't replied in a while. That would be great if you could talk to rose about it! I've had to get a lot of things ready because i leave for basic training and AIT for the army in a month or so. Let me know whats going on. I'll still be here for a while and I'll be able to check my e-mail in july or august. So keep me posted!

I'm back! Basic and AIT are over with! (for now, I'll probably go back for more training next summer, 'sigh') We'll I've just posted my latest chapter to Better Ideas and I was hoping you could update me on the idea of an alt. pairings contest. I'm working on fixing my comp so I can watch the forums more often, so soon I'll be up and running. -Zero

This is a reply to Zero's request for a regular Alt contest from like a billion years ago. I am so so sorry it's taken me this long. The truth is...well I am currently in Japan. Yes, you heard me right. Japan! ^___^ While I have still not quite gotten over this fact, it has kept me pretty busy the past few months. So I am sorry again!

While I see no problem with having an Alt contest, (hmm...a regular one might be difficult, but a new contest, sure!) it's more up to you all how big we want to make it. The way the new forum is set up, anyone can post a challenge. But if we want to make it more of a Alt forum sponsered thing with judges and prizes and such, then that will take more work. I'm more than willing to take some ideas for a contest to get some plot bunnies hopping about for authors. But I just wanted to get people opinions about whether we want a set deadline and judging, etc.

So, I'll make a separate post about this soon, but I just wanted to answer your question, Zero, as I've left you hanging for forever.

That's a great idea, Zero. An Alt. pairing contest sounds great

And if it ever happens, I'd be more than willing to lend whatever services I can offer, Sphinx. I know I haven't been around lately, but it doesn't take much for me to get back into the game. If you'd let me, I'd love to be a judge.
