Merry Christmas Everyone.

Tab A into slot H. Slot H? There isn't a slot H, What idiot wrote these directions? ...Maybe here will work?

*Crash*

She heard a slight ruffling of socks upon the carpet as her husband came down the hall. This is insane, why can't she just let me... "You know I could..." He trailed off as she glared at him. Come on Yuy, you've been in tight spots before, pull this one out, think, think, think, got it! "Get you some hot tea?"

She stopped glaring as a contemplative look came over her face, then she nodded. We walked out mentally patting himself on the back for another disaster averted. He had learned his lesson weeks ago.

---

"I wouldn't advise that."

"But it's gorgeous, it's perfect!"

"This one is assembled, the one you take home won't be."

"What difference does that make?"

"Have you ever tried assembling one of these."

"Be serious Heero, How hard could it be."

"Well if you really want to know..." he trailed off as she glared at him.

"What did I say?"

"Here I'm trying to get a wonderful gift for our daughter and all you can do is criticize?"

"But-"

"Is it THAT hard for you to be even a little supportive?"

"But-"

"Fine, I'll put it together myself, you won't have to lift one finger to help."

"But-"

"And you can spend tonight on the couch." She stormed off to order one of the object in question.

---

I would get upset with the banishment to the couch, but then again the night after she 'misses' me always makes up for it... I wonder if that's normal? Probably not, nothing in this family is normal.

As he stirred the tea he dropped a small pill that quickly dissolved into the drink. He brought it out and handed it to Relena who smiled at him and took a sip... more like a long sip ... in fact, she just drank the whole thing in one gulp. Well at least I won't have to wait long for her to pass out now.

After a few more minutes of continued effort on the project, she did in fact, fade into unconsciousness and Heero gently carried her back to the bedroom. Then returned back to the project at hand, completing in 15 minutes what she had spent 2 hours on.

---

"mommymommymommydaddydaddydaddy! Santacame! Santacame! Santacame! Santacame! Santacame! Santacame!"

Six am, 15 minutes earlier then last year, a new personal record. "I'm up already!" Groaned his female companion who found herself being dragged out of the room by the arm by their very energetic 5 year old. Who let go only to start shaking various boxes, before removing a blanket covering a big (3 feet) object. Behind it was one very big Doll playhouse, exactly what she had asked Santa for. As the five year old continued tearing open boxes, Relena sat down on the couch to enjoy the sight with Heero, she leaned over to him and whispered "I'm so tired I don't even remember finishing that doll house."

Time to be creative, "I tried to offer my help, but you were determined to finish, when you finished working on it you fell asleep and I brought you to bed."

She playfully punched him in the arm "See? I'm not totally incapable. I can put things together too, Mr. Assembling-a-trike-takes-all-night." Referencing a gift from last year.

"Of course dear, but I do have one request, in the future can we avoid those dreaded words?"

"What words?"

"Some Assembly Required."

She enthusiastically nodded her agreement.

Thank you Calla

I meant to throw up a dedication to all the parents on BI who I'm sure got a 6am (or maybe earlier) wake up call from their kids. :salute: to all of you who fall under that category.

The drugging the wife to prevent her "help," it's probably been thought but not done.

The dread over those three words, absolutely. In fact, it was hearing a parent talk about it that gave me the idea in the first place.

Some assembly required huh? Can't be any worse than the other 3 little words: Batteries not included.
