What is Naruto?

What is this show? Is it pink and fluffy or dark and grim? It seems everybody and their mother has been screaming about this show. Please advise.

It's a Shounen manga. Lots of fights and action, with some humor tossed in. And has a very extensive cast of characters. If you want, you can go to narutofan.com, and download their scanlations (You'll have to register). While it has "oh my god, please let this wrap up already!" moments *coughCurrentArccough* it's pretty enjoyable.
