Just Yesterday
Part Three
By: Mellie
Disclaimer: In my dreams I own?never mind, I don?t own Gundam Wing. Other people do.
AN: Yea! Finally! It is about time my muse gave me something to work with. Geez, you?d think she hates me or something.
Just yesterday
Is fast approaching
Just yesterday
Wants to control today
Just yesterday
Relena and Heero had both been surprised to see him. Of course they had expressed concern at his excitement to go to Mars suddenly. Begrudgingly, the couple had lent him their shuttle. That was how he had now come to just outside the atmosphere of Mars.
?Beta to landing. Beta to landing. Requesting permission for ground clearance.?
?Roger that, Beta. Permission granted, seek entry at point A16-73D. Spaceport 3889 open for landing. Over.?
?Roger. Beta over and out.?
Duo maneuvered the agile shuttle to the entry point. Heat flew off the atmospheric entry panels, causing him to look almost like a flaming meteor hurtling down onto the red planet. ?I will find you, Hilde. It?s time to come home.?
~~
?Do you know where she is, Zechs? Tell me you know.?
?Hello and how are you, too. Come in.?
Duo entered the lavish Merquise home. His step was hurried and broken as he followed the taller man into the living room. ?Sit.?
Duo was slow to obey, but he finally dropped into a chair. His violet eyes stared at the blond man. ?Brandy??
The braided man didn?t move. Zechs poured himself a glass and leaned back. ?So, you?re looking for Aleta.?
Violet eyes narrowed suspiciously. ?Let?s say I am.?
?She left for the Piquant section yesterday.?
?What is she doing there??
?There are some things better left unsaid.?
?How can I find her??
?Right this way.? Zechs stood up and began to walk away. Duo left no time in scrambling after him.
Just yesterday
I protected you
Just yesterday
You kept me sane
Just yesterday
The mirror told him nothing and forced him to sigh. He looked sharp in the uniform Zechs had given him. ?Ready, Jiro??
His mission had been given and all that remained was the getting started. ?Affirmative.?
?Get out there and find her. Noin is cheering for you.?
A nod was given and he disappeared into the thick Martian atmosphere. His digital GPS showed where he was and wanted to go. It didn?t show her. He didn?t look back as he propelled himself into the night.
There was nothing there except a faint light in the distance. Colonization had not yet been fully started, people fearing the ?aliens?. He easily covered ground and reached where she had last been sent.
Hilde had been transferred to a new mission once it became known the threat wouldn?t go away with force. Her death had been faked by Zechs to try hiding her undercover ops. It had succeeded so far: she had gathered more information in two weeks than many gathered in months.
?Aleta, come in, over.?
Static crackled back at him. ?What??
?I?m here to bring you home.?
?Duo??
?Sorry, you have the wrong man. I?m Jiro.?
?Oh, right.?
?Aleta??
?Yeah??
?Are you coming??
?No.?
Just yesterday
Trust was key
Just yesterday
We hid nothing
Just Yesterday
I understood
Just yesterday
