Two Princes: The Hidden Lemon
Posted: Mon Aug 09, 2004 7:06 pm
As promised, here is the long-awaited (or maybe not) hidden lemon chapter! This chapter is meant to fit in between Chapter 11 and Chapter 12, right after the end scene, when Duo brings Relena back to her hotel room.
And that should answer the question of what pairing is involved. ^^ Yes, it's 2xR. As for the fic itself...well, we still have four chapters to go, right? *grins*
I will respond to feedback to Ch. 11 on my normal habit of doing to right before posting the next chapter, which should be posted Thursday evening on schedule.
This 'hidden' chapter is dedicated to everyone who has read and enjoyed this story thus far, especially Rhina and Beck, who have offered encouragements, bribes and threats to keep me writing.
Two Princes
Hidden Lemon Chapter
Pairing: 2xR
Disclaimer: They're still not mine, dernit.
Standard Citrus Disclaimer: This fic is a lemon. That means there is reference to sex and sex-related activities herein. If you are underage or easily embarrassed, it's probably best if you pass this one by. Also, I like my citrus when garnished well with sugar--which means it's a sappy lemon. Please make sure to bring all prophylactics and your toothbrush. Please keep all arms and legs inside of the car until the lemon comes to a complete stop. Thank you, and enjoy the ride.

By the time they reached the hotel, Relena had calmed down considerably, but was still holding on to Duo's arm in a near-deathgrip. Neither of them spoke; Relena was too shaken up, and Duo didn't want to push her.
When they reached her room, Duo keyed open the door, and stepped inside, making a quick surveilance of the room. Relena followed close behind.
After turning on a few lights in the outer room of the suite, and drawing the curtains closed, an air of security seemed to descend upon the couple. Duo sensed this, and made his move to leave.
He stopped when he felt Relena's hand on his arm. "Don't...don't leave yet, Duo," she said, her voice softly pleading. "I...I think I'd like someone to talk to, for a little while." Duo nodded, and followed her over to the sofa.
Relena kicked off her shoes, and sat down gingerly, tucking her legs beneath her. Duo took up a position on the other side of the couch, just close enough to touch her hand. He soothed her fingers gently with his, running the tips of his fingers along the contours of her hand.
Relena had her eyes fixed forward on a point somewhere several feet away from the sofa. She took a deep, shuddering breath.
"I'm sure you think that I'm...well, a coward, for acting the way I did this afternoon," she started hesitantly. "You'd think that this is something I'd be used to dealing with, these assassination attempts. Heaven knows this isn't the first one I've ever experienced."
Duo opened his mouth to speak, but Relena shook her head gently. "Let me finish," she said softly. "The truth is, rarely do these attempts ever come to gunfire. Sometimes they do. Most times they don't. Heero usually catches them first."
Duo did speak this time. "It's probably my fault," he murmured. "If I wasn't here, then Heero wouldn't have been distracted, because he was too busy being angry that I was here."
"No!" said Relena forcefully. "If you weren't there...if you hadn't seen that guy the same time Heero did...I very well might be in the hospital right now...or worse. Not only that, but there might have been others--other people might have gotten hurt in the crossfire, as well." A silent tear slid down her cheek. "To be honest, Duo, every time this type of thing happens, I get scared. What if they would have succeeded? Heero is very adept at what he does, but I still worry. I'm still very young, and though I wouldn't think twice about sacrificing myself for this peace, it still frightens me somewhat that someday, I might have to."
Duo pulled her into his arms, just as the tears she'd fought so hard to hold back were let loose. She sobbed against his shoulder, and he rocked her gently. "Shh," he soothed, "it's over. The danger is gone, for now. We caught the guy. He can't come after you again. You're safe." And I promise to always keep you safe, he vowed silently.
Relena looked up at him, her cheeks tracked with tears. "Do you know that out of all the years he's been my bodyguard, Heero never once took the time to console me after an assassination attempt? He often wouldn't even stay in my room to make sure I was all right. He always left, saying he had to 'research the incident.' But I know he was just scared that he might have to show some emotions around me."
Duo felt anger rising up from the pit of his stomach, and he quickly quelled it. "I'm not Heero," he said softly, and dipped his head to meet her lips in a soft kiss.
Relena closed her eyes, then opened them as their lips parted, as if to assure herself that she was not dreaming this. "Duo," she whispered, reaching up to caress his cheek. "All this time...I've thought I was meant to be with Heero...when it was you all along--"
Duo put a finger to her lips, rubbing his thumb gently over the soft skin. "Ssh," he said quietly. "Now is not the time to think about the past."
When their lips met again, they did not part until they were both gasping for breath, both from the exertion and from passion. Relena clung to him, her fists knotted in the fabric of his shirt, barely pausing for a moment before claiming his lips again.
Duo could feel the heat in his blood rising, and knew where things were headed. Though his entire body screamed at him against the action, he reluctantly pulled away from Relena.
"'Lena...we shouldn't do this..." In response, Relena buried her face in his neck, nuzzling at the skin at the base of his shoulder, nipping at his skin. Duo bit back a groan at the sensation. "Relena..."
Reluctantly, she met his eyes. "Duo...don't leave me. Please...I don't care about the consequences. Just...don't leave me. I need you...here, tonight. I need...you."
Duo sighed. "It's not right--" He was silenced by the gentle application of her fingertips against his lips.
"It is right, Duo," she whispered softly, "because I want it to be right. I'm not doing this because of what happened this afternoon. All those times there have been attempted assassinations in the past, I never once lured Heero to my bed. And not just because he never stayed long enough to give me the opportunity," she said when he opened his mouth to protest.
She cupped his face in her hands, her fingertips soft against his cheeks. "I love you, Duo Maxwell," she said, eyes wide as if she herself was amazed at the realization. "I...I think I always have. I was just so busy looking at Heero, I never realized it was you I wanted all along."
Duo held his breath throughout her admission, not daring to breathe. "Relena--"
She ducked her head suddenly. "I'm sorry," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I--it's too soon. I shouldn't have said anything."
Duo silenced her, laying a gentle finger against her lips. "'Lena, I know you don't say such things lightly," he said, his expression compassionate. "I know this isn't some heat-of-the-moment thing. It just caught me off guard, I guess." He scratched at the back of his head, almost nervously. "Truth is, 'Lena...I think I love you, too."
Unshed tears glistened in Relena's eyes. She opened her mouth to speak, but Duo silenced her with his lips, slipping his tongue past her lips to clash playfully with her own. Playfulness soon turned to something more desperate, as Duo's lips left Relena's mouth to taste the skin of her jawline and neck, interspersing kisses with tiny nips.
Relena gasped at the assault, her hands grasping at Duo's shoulders as if they were the only anchor she had against flying away. "Duo...mmmph..." Her voice was little more than a moan. "Duo...I want you..." She began to wrestle with the buttons of his shirt, all her fears and concerns forgotten in this one, all-encompassing need.
Duo nodded slightly, his mouth never leaving her neck, and picked her up, carrying her to the bedroom. Somewhere along the way Relena managed to unbutton Duo's shirt and wrestled it off of him, casting it aside to drift to the floor like a forgotten ghost, one arm draped casually across the seat of a chair just inside the main room of the suite.
Duo laid her down gently on the bed, and propped himself over her, weight resting on his arms. His braid flopped over his shoulder, the tail resting near Relena's head, and she grabbed it, undoing the binding and beginning to loosen the tight plait. Duo chuckled slightly.
"You know, 'Lena, it's a pain to re-braid that thing," he said in between kisses.
"I don't care," she replied, her voice slightly breathless as her fingers worked the plaits free. "I'll...help you rebraid it...later..."
Duo merely nodded in assent, and turned his attention to her clothing. Relena gasped under his ministrations, as his hands skillfully undid the fasteners of her clothing, her skin shivering as he paused momentarily to kiss at exposed bits of skin occasionally.
Duo looked up to watch her face, smiling at her expression. It was all he needed to see to know he was doing everything right. Yet still, a nagging thought sliced through the increasing fog in his brain. He tried to ignore it, but it kept pushing its way to the front of his mind insitently, until he finally reluctantly leaned back slightly, regarding Relena with a mixture of desire and hesitation.
Relena finally noticed that Duo had stopped, and opened her eyes, confused. "Duo? What's wrong? Why did you stop?"
"Well..." Duo rubbed the back of his head, an embarrassed expression flitting across his features. "I just want to be sure...that you really want this...I mean, I don't want you to feel like you're making a mistake or anything."
Relena's face fell. "Why? Did you...did you change your mind? Do you not want to..." She fell silent, a hurt expression claiming her face.
Duo could've kicked himself. What a fool you are, Duo Maxwell! he swore angrily to himself. Now you've gone and hurt her feelings!
He leaned in and gave her a gentle kiss on the lips. "No, 'Lena...I want this more than anything right now." He chuckled, his voice hoarse. "You have no idea how hard it was for me to stop. But I just want to be sure...I mean, I don't want to do this, and make you hate yourself tomorrow." He scratched at the back of his head. "I...I really care about you, 'Lena, and I don't want to hurt you, or make you sad, for any reason."
Relena pulled him close, burying her face in his neck. "We're not making a mistake," she murmured, her voice muffled. "I want this, too. And I won't regret it tomorrow."
She pulled away, her eyes bright with emotion. "Don't stop again, Duo," she whispered. "Please."
Duo only nodded, and placed his hands on her shoulders, tracing the lines of her arms gently until he reached her waist, then slowly pulled her shirt off. He leaned in close to her, tracing along the edge of her bra with his lips, his nose tickling her skin as he inhaled the scent of perfume and soap, combined with her own, natural scent. He fumbled momentarily with the hook fastener before loosening it, and easing the straps down each of her arms.
He paused for a moment, his hands dancing with feather-light touches over her hips as he prepared to remove her skirt. "Relena," he breathed, his voice barely above a whisper, "you're so beautiful..."
"Shh," she responded, her own voice equally hushed. "So are you." Her own hands drifted to the waistband of his pants, and together they helped each other divest themselves of their last articles of clothing.
Relena sighed slightly, her breath catching in her throat as she was finally bared before him. He laid her back against the pillows gently, his body hovering over hers. His long hair tumbled over his shoulders, pooling against the sheets in soft, silky waterfalls. She ran her fingers through the wealth of chestnut silk as he leaned in for another kiss. "No more hesitation," he whispered against her lips, and with a careful arch of his hips, they were together.
Relena's eyes flew open as he entered her, her body unaccustomed to the sudden sensation. She bit her lip as she felt herself tear open at his intrusion, and her body tensed against the unexpected pain. A small, rebellious whimper escaped her lips, and she clenched her fists against Duo's back.
Duo's eyes opened slowly, and he willed his body to relax slightly, not wanting the moment to end. The euphoria fogging his brain was momentarily chased away at the sight of the obvious discomfort etching the planes of Relena's face. He suddenly remembered himself.
"'Lena...oh gods--I didn't know...I should have made sure that you...I'm so sorry, 'Lena..."
She braved a small smile, and reached up to stroke one cheek. "No," she murmured, "it's okay, I'm all right, it just surprised me, that's all..."
Duo ducked his head to nibble at her lips, murmuring soothing words while holding his body still as he waited for her to grow accustomed to the new sensation. Slowly, as the pain in her loins subsided, the tenseness eased out of her body. Sensing her growing readiness, Duo began to slowly move within her.
At first, Relena winced at the slight discomfort, but as her body grew accustomed to the movements and began to react, pain was replaced with pleasure. She began to move with him, slowly at first, then faster as her mind gave way to pleasure.
She dug her nails into Duo's back, not quite drawing blood. Duo groaned at the sensation, warring with the need to give in to his desire and the want to hold back, to make sure that Relena was there with him when he reached it.
Time was lost for Relena; all that mattered was Duo and what he was doing to her. She forgot about the conference, forgot about the assassination attempt, and forgot about Heero. There was only Duo. Things had suddenly become that simple for her.
The realization came to her at the same time that she reached her peak, and she sobbed with that realization and the intensity of the sensations washing over her. Duo followed soon after, his body arching above hers as he reached completion inside her.
He propped himself over her on shaky arms, not wanting to collapse on top of her, and noticed that she was crying. "'Lena?" he asked, his voice finally steadying. "Are you all right?"
Relena nodded, sniffling slightly. "I've never been better, Duo." She arched her back and kissed him. "Thank you."
He smiled lazily, and carefully eased himself off of her, turning onto his side and pulling her body close to his. She nestled into the haven of his arms, winding her own around his midsection. She rested her head against his chest, lulled by the soothing rhythm of his steady heartbeat.
"Don't leave me," she said, her voice languid as her eyelids grew heavy. "Promise me you'll be here when I wake up."
"I'm not Heero," Duo murmured lazily. He carefully tugged the sheets up to cover them, and soon the room was silent except for the steady sighing of their breathing as they slumbered.
