Disclaimer: Gundam Wing does not belong to me.
Author's Note: The introduction does as it says, introduces you to the main characters and gives a few hints about relationships and the plot. This is a period piece, it is Heero/Relena centric with the other couples thrown in for some spice.

Life's Little Surprises

Milliardo Cinq, Viscount Zechs, had become the Earl of Peacecraft after the death of his father at the age of six and was left in the care of Treize and Une Kushrenada, Earl and Countess of Epyon. His mother had remarried below her station and had produced another child, Relena Darlian.

Miss Darlian, estranged from her brother, had lived very peacefully with her mother and father in a small town in Devon. At fifteen, her father was murdered by a highwayman coming home from his duties as man of affairs. Mrs. Darlian, after a suitable period of mourning, had decided that once Relena had finished school, they would move from Devon to London. And thus, at the tender age of eighteen, Relena entered the glittering world of the ton.

According to the latest on dit circulating around Town, Heero Yuy, Lord Wingzero, had taken an interest in the innocent Miss Darlian. The news, of course, was preposterous. Heero was known for his various and frequent affairs with widows and wives, but he did not get mixed in with virgins. Virgins were nothing but trouble.

The betting books in the gentleman?s clubs were full of unsubtle wagers about a certain Lord W. and Miss D. Quatre Rebaba Winner, Lord Sandrock, frowned at the practice. It was unacceptable that such a sweet girl, a paragon really, should be subjected to such speculation. But he really had his own girl troubles and did not dwell on Miss Darlian for long.

Dorothy Catalonia, widow of the late Lord Romafeller and once paramour of Lord Wingzero, plotted her way into the oft-mentioned Miss Relena?s life as best friend and ally. Lady Romafeller was considered an acceptable companion by Mrs. Darlian as she allowed Relena into the higher circles of Society.

Duo Maxwell, Viscount Deathscythe, wrote his own wager in the betting books. Maxwell was uncaring of anything but good fun, and anything that annoyed Heero was considered fun. Truthfully, the good-natured Viscount was unaware of the complications his life would undergo by getting involved in the whole affair.

Fresh from the schoolroom and eager to be away from it, Hilde Scheibeker, accompanied by her cousin, Lucrezia, entered Society with enthusiasm. By virtue of being an Original, and therefore, of great interest, Hilde managed invitations into some of the best drawing rooms in London, taking Lucrezia along for the ride.

At four and twenty, Miss Lucrezia Noin was regarded as a bluestocking and placed on the shelf, a position she had no qualms about being in, provided the same did not happen to her young cousin. Unfortunately, her calm life was interrupted by the foray into the ton, and by the Earl she encountered there.

Daughter of Lord and Lady Epyon, Mariemaia Kushrenada grew up as the Viscountess Talgeese; very wealthy, very spoiled, and promised to the Earl of Peacecraft. She is very satisfied with her life so far, and what her future offers. She is not one who takes kindly to her plans going awry.

On the streets of London, Chang Wufei, Chinese immigrant and Bow Street Runner makes his living solving other people?s problems. On the trail of a murderer, he makes the acquaintance of the independent Miss Po, who seems determined to interfere in his life.

Sally Po, a simple flower seller, finds herself in a precarious situation as indirect witness to a murder. Finding the investigator responsible, she offers her assistance, only to be rebuffed. Offended, Miss Po has decided that Chang Wufei will accept her aid or else.

From the wings of Society, the reclusive Viscount Heavyarms watches the play expand around him. Taking note of the players and plot twists with an unnerving silence until the opportune moment presents itself. Trowa Barton, for all his solitary attitude, cares very deeply about what happens to his good friend Quatre Winner. His wife, the infamous Catherine Bloom, also cares a great deal that her husband does not get left behind in the adventure unfolding.

This looks like it could really be interesting! You've set up a lot of interesting scenarios, and I'm excited to see what will happen.

Also, you're obviously very knowledgable about the time period, or have done a good deal of research, and as a period movie/book/fic buff, I appreciate that. I'll be waiting excitedly for the next chapter.
