Chapter four- Her Only Happiness
The winds shifted upon the horizon, gaining slight strength with each passing moment, a massive shadow moved into view, forming the shape of a white dragon, gears resonating and shifting just upon its descent towards the small encampment. Slowly, the massive form of the mechanical dragon moved upon the ground, rough winds forcing its way out into a circle upon it before dissipating out into nothingness, each man that had held witness covered their eyes and faces from the dust that had been carried with the force.
The dust settled from a sheet nearly covering everything to seeming that it was never there. A bright light encompassed the field for the shortest moment, a pitch of sound echoing across just upon the disappearance of the dust, the massive mechanical figure now was once again the small gemstone pendant that rested upon the fallen king's chest.
His visage holding upon his arms a female form rose from the dust fog, her figure seeming to try to move even closer to his. He had no complaints as his arms wrapped around her tighter, all the while making his way through the ranks of men, fixing this part and shifting another as a huge caravan was prepared.
The fallen king moved towards a small gathering of men surrounding some sort of map, the famous swordsman shifting his form to look upon him, smiling slightly as he nodded, voicing out, ?You two had fun??
The short haired girl shifted her form, trying to hide the build of crimson upon her cheeks though the fallen king?s eyes still contained the same indifferent expression, ?None I could see for a mile wide...?
?That?s good... None to interrupt our path...?The long haired man nodded, a slight laugh escaped his lips as he repeated what the famous swordsman had spoken, ?So, did you two have fun??
A slight frown formed upon the fallen king?s mouth, his forehead wrinkling slightly as he released the short haired girls form to the ground, helping her stand on her own before she tilted her head to look upon his eyes for a moment, then her gaze strayed silently away, her voice soft, shy in a way, ?N-Nothing... happened...?
The crimson color upon her cheeks deepened as she tried to hide it from the casual observers, though what was expected as laughs to follow were just soft grunts and slight breaths as the small gathering slowly dispersed, leaving only the figure of the famous swordsman, the long haired man and a bloated figure to stand.
Their attention moved upon a scream as four men tried to pull a female commander, the ?jumpy? figure that they had held captive, attempting to move her into a metallic part of the caravan, a prison like room, chaining her into the wall there though she continued to wail and scream within, her voice only cut when one heavily clad man placed a gag over her mouth, tightening the bond upon her arms and legs.
The short haired girl fell silent as she leaned her form a bit more upon the fallen king, her eyes remaining upon the ?jumpy? figure as she stared tauntingly upon any who would come near her, the voice of the long haired man moving through, ?That one has given us such trouble since the start, damned arrogance...?
The fallen king nodded as the famous swordsman slowly moved closer to her, smiling gently, his hand running upon her chin, seeming to silence her, her movements and face turning calm, though the fear and anger still remained upon her eyes.
The fallen king shook his head as his attention returned to the short haired girl, her eyes bearing slight pity, though they softened as she moved her eyes towards his, locking for a moment before moving herself off him, smiling brightly once again.
She had probably gotten too dependent upon him to be her happiness, though it might have been from the thought that this might be the last moments they could be together, it was unknown to anyone. She wished to be close to him, to drown herself in his eyes as her mind was encompassed by his voice. He had become the stronger in this part, the one who had always been there for her, the one who held her close. She smiled upon this thought for that is the only thing she ever wished, for him to be the better part of her life.
The fallen king had begun to make his way towards the front of the caravan, the short haired girl following suit, a few steps behind him, her eyes remaining upon his form as a smile played upon her lips upon the tilt of his head, observing her from the corner of his eye.
They moved to within the caravan, making their way into a small room. Though she had her own room, it seemed that she had started to settle herself within his, taking a seat upon the bed, shifting her form to lie down upon the bed. As she shifted her legs to move upon the bed, he sat upon the floor just beside it, resting his head lightly upon her lap as her form shifted to look at him upon the best view she could get from her position.
For a moment, she ran her hand upon the side of the skirt that she wore, feeling for the three cards that she held there, cherishing the thought the fates had seemed to have given upon them, her smile widening as she closed her eyes, snuggling slightly upon the pillow under her head.
He smiled slightly, a confused one yet a smile nonetheless, his voice gentle, almost a whisper, ?Nani, Hitomi-kirei??
She shook her head slowly as the crimson color returned to her cheeks, trying to stray her gaze away from him, only to realize that her head willingly moved to look upon him, her voice weak, ?Onegai... Don?t call me that...?
Soft breath escaped his lips, seeming like a short laugh as he shrugged, ?Why? What?s wrong??
?It?s just that...? She tried to find a reply to his words.
How he had begun to call her had made her feel really special, perhaps a bit too special. It seemed that each time she would here that, she could do nothing but blush a deep red, only for she never thought of her as that way, only that she was just like any normal person.
She kneed the back of his head gently before letting his head settle upon her lap once again, closing her eyes upon the slight mockery that had formed upon his smile, voicing out in a disappointed yet still playful voice, ?Urusei...?
He shrugged once again, nodding without question as he shifted his eyes to the ceiling, leaning his head more against her, a sigh of comfort escaping his lips.
