?AN: Well, this chapter leaves an interesting twist. I've had the most wonderful idea for this fic, and I can't wait to get a few more chapters into this, when everything starts being revealed. It's gonna be so great. I'm so excited. Is that sad or what when the author is that excited? ^_^;

Disclaimers: I don't own Gundam Wing.

"Oh God, Heero..." Relena could only murmur against the moans that wracked her throat those first few moments after Heero left her upon the mattress, for in her dismay her arms wrapped desperately about her abdomen to crush the smoothness even nearer to her core, desiring to bring only warmth to the coldness she felt as the wind from the balcony swept over her skin so.

She sat upright amidst the sheets, watching as two newborn drops fell from her eyes to dissipate into the larger ocean of linen and silk that flurried amongst her, and she stayed completely stoic in such that way as her mind traveled back to a day, in a distant time and place, when her most passionate desires were kindled with Heero's breath to caress her flesh, both within and along the satin to burn; when her heart was stoked by Heero's tongue as it entered her cavern in thirst for her body, his spit to meld with her fluids hungrily; as the Soldier's hands brushed along her skin so gently, mildly, so meekly as his hair fell from his face to combine even more sensual fondles to that sinew, exposing his orbs to her gaze; to the way those spheres clouded with the haze of their union, so serene from the soul he was touching and the beauty of her scent... he was hypnotized by her that night, as she was to him.

But then it was forgotten; their sexual dance dying as the staves faded with Heero's last step out of her bedroom--the sheets still perfumed with the fragrance of their lovemaking, potent yet more mesmerizing than the roses that at his departure began to wither into a crimson lake of petals with pinions scorched black by the hours laying on the floor near the bed; this cologne but an encore of the night before.

The princess was about to curl herself within the blankets, reveling of their intercourse upon these very linens, when the Vid-com came to life at the stilling of her tears--she barely finding the need to lift herself from the recline and face the caller.

"Yes?"

"Well Miss Darlian," the all too familiar voice of Terry Coniak flittered through the chamber and into the ears of the woman sitting so tiredly upon the sheets with brow lowered from that aforesaid strain--a deep sigh escaping from Relena's lips as she glanced at the silhouette of her rival, "It seems that your soldier has struck again; this time in the L6 Colony Cluster."

A sharp intake of breath was his only reply at first from the lady as he spoke to her of the assault, her eyes then flashing with some sort of revelation at the cackle he released from her hesitation--her orbs twinkling against the moonlight so innocently with midnight sky to surround both sight and satellite.

"But that's impossible," she reasoned with him. "He was just here with me not even fifteen minutes ago, on Earth. There's no way he could've gotten a shuttle, landed on the colony, and traveled to the disaster area in that much time."?

"He is the Perfect Soldier after all, Vice Foreign Minister. If anyone could do it, it would be him," Coniak responded so confidently in his statement, quirking his lips into somewhat of a devious expression as he set his knuckles upon his desk while addressing her.

"Wait a minute. I thought Tamorce specifically said that you weren't to have any contact with him. What was he doing in your room at 1:00 in the morning? I hope it isn't what it see..."

"Of course not, Terry!" the princess interjected before he could utter those words... words that described what she was formerly reminiscing of... what she wished they had done, rather than accuse her lover and make him leave her yet again--acrimoniously this time. "We were simply discussing the colony attacks, and as I recall from our meeting earlier, the president said that I may speak with him if it has to do with the assaults."

"Yes; yes, he did. Just remember: you're under watch now, and someday your defense of the pilots may get you into trouble. Although, that would work out very nicely for me, then. Wouldn't it?"

Turning his head to his side, as if he heard something that shook him from his reverie, he brought his attention back to the Vice Foreign Minister with a fresh smirk adorning his face and continued, "You're treading on thin ice, Relena, thinner than you'll ever know. I suggest you stay away from any contact with any of the pilots, for your own good.

"Oh, and Miss Relena," he addressed her in a warmer tone than previously uttered, eyes softening a little to demonstrate sincerity, "I wanted to apologize for my words with you earlier this morning. It was not gentlemanly of me to say those things to you, nor was it reflective of my family's reputation. I was just upset that you showed me up in the meeting, and I guess my temper ran away with me. I should have had more respect for you and your judgment... personal respect and gratitude. I'm sorry."

Relena couldn't help but let a tender smile alight her features to dazzle within embers now aglow at his apology, a flame glistening within her breast to burn and spread amidst her soul as she felt his sincerity and guilt radiating from the screen--perhaps she had indeed misjudged his attitude... maybe she was a bit harsh with him earlier. She couldn't explain it, but just the contentment on his face at her acceptance of his apology left her with a sense of... pride.?

"I, too, am sorry, Terry. I guess I was just a little ticked from the meeting as well, and I took it out on you.??

"Forgiven?" she asked as she extended her palm out to the screen mockingly to shake hands on the deal.

"Forgiven," the boy rejoined with his own out-stretched hand, laughing genuinely at her happiness.

The screens went blank.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Pulling his chair away from the desk where his Vid-com sat with a sigh to release from his breast, Coniak turned to the man standing before him just out of the screen's vision, and therefore faintly invisible to the woman the man in the seat was just talking to, and remarked, "What do you want?"

"I don't know what you're trying to accomplish by turning the people against us, but whatever it is you'll leave Relena out of it," the voice penetrated the office so deftly in its monotone, the reverberation so deep and masculine as it rumbled from his breast and into the ears of the senator to make even this powerful man to shudder at the resonance--revolver cocked and aimed at the delegate's heart.

Yet another smirk threatening his lips, Terry Coniak's eyes met those of his visitor with a sheen of deceit claiming their depths to mirror within the orbs of the prowler against the blue damask of nightfall, and he quipped, "I'm sorry, but I can't guarantee that she won't be involved in this much. As a matter of fact, I have her planned as playing a very crucial role in all of this. I just can't dismiss her from my list yet."

"You will leave her alone..." the man warned in expression so dangerously low as he stepped closer to his victim, but his hold upon the gun trembling as he envisioned himself pulling the trigger, adding another corpse drenched in the blood from the bullet the soldier would inflict to his list of thousands--he'd made a promise to himself and to Relena about never killing again. Can I, no... WILL I break my promise for her life? Will I allow myself to see those tears when she finds out I went back on my word, that all of her efforts to prevent soldiers like me from fighting were in vain? Should I damn both of our sufferings in vain of an emotion... one I spoiled when I touched her so intimately those years ago? Will I? Why wouldn't I? I'm only alive when I'm a weapon... but I'm only conscious when I with her. "...or I'll kill you."

"It's a tempting offer, my Friend, but I'm afraid I can't rest just yet. Not until I complete my mission in this world... the only reason I was born," Coniak hissed to the Perfect Soldier amidst the wind's moaning against the glass, the trees struck by this breeze waning at the gale's shrieks, narrowing his eyes at the man in feral stance holding that gun.

"And if you or any of your little friends tries to interfere, I will bring Relena's world crashing down around her. I know about your little rendezvous with her tonight, and one word of that to the council and her reputation as well as her career will be ruined. Not even she, the Dove of Peace, former Queen of the World, Precious Little Princess, will be able to bring her name out of the mud then... and you know it."

Heero remained still in that moonlight, his pose never faltering even as the senator dared whisper such vehemence towards her, but his glare turned colder, cruel in its lust for vengeance, at each syllable parting from the other man's breath. No one would believe him over Relena. The people believe in her, love her... she will be in no danger by my interference.

"The Perfect Soldier's Whore... has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?"

The man could see Heero's nostrils flair at the insult to the woman he placed above his own life, the lady he'd condemn himself to hell and back for that one whimper would die at her lips, for but a moment detecting the brief sparkle of remorse illuminate his irises at the name's somewhat truth. She's not a whore... she wasn't that night, and no one will ever call her that. I didn't turn her into that... does the blood from her virginity stain me now, too? What have I done to her? His thoughts were erratic, completely devoid of a train to lead them in purpose.

Terry watched, not surprised in the least, as the aggressor turned from his eyes and lowered the gun, hearing the door shut almost silently in the wake of the warrior's retreat into the twilight--he could hear the man's heart screaming as he left... a past deed he wanted desperately to erase.

"Don't worry Heero Yuy. All will be revealed soon enough, and only then will you understand it all.

"Right, Clavor, Sir?" the boy said to the other shadow residing in that darkness, confirming his ideal.

"That's correct, Little Soldier... you're absolutely right. The world now has to face its greatest opponent, bred by its saviors."

Well, I had suspected. Sired by the nemesis - a child born to the enemy. The 'enemy' in this is Heero, of course, to the real enemy of what is considered good or right, therefore it has to be his child. His and Relena's.

He thinks he raped her, perhaps? The coward that he is must at least have turned his back on his child, and Relena abandoned him? Secretly had him and put him up for adoption, or something else. I wouldn't put it passed you to have a more supernatural explanation....

I hate how he's got to be such a jerkface to Rel, especially when they love each other. *sigh* Yuy, you are such the bastard, I swear. >_<

Ready to read the next chapter.... ^__^

Love,
Rose
