Samanosuke pulled his sword out of the dead demon's back. The blade was covered in blood from the hilt up. As soon as he was sure the demon was dead, he snapped it's neck with his foot for good measure. The samurai shoved his sword back into it's sheath. He knealt down next to the dead undead. He placed his hand between it's shoulder blades and lower back. He could suddenly feel energy flowing into his body from the demon's carcass.

Knowing that more demons would come, he quickly got up and turned around. Walking as quickly as possible, as not to alert any enemies in the nearby vicinity to himself, he left the House of the Damned. He had gotten what he wanted. Samanosuke put his hand in his pocket, and pulled out a little locket with a gold chain attached to it.

As of two years ago, Samanosuke had been unaware of any siblings. As it turned out, his mother was a whore, who sold herself off. It turned out he had a little sister. One day while he was carrying chopped wood into the backyard, a little girl had run up to him crying. He hadn't known where she had come from. After calming the little girl a series of questions had followed.

"What's your name?" he remembered himself asking.

"Yu," she had responded.

"What are you doing here?"

"Looking for my mother."

"What is your mother's name?"

"Shashin."

That name hit him like a sledgehammer to the side of the head.

"We have a woman named Shashin here. Could that be your mother?"

"Maybe." Then the little girl had gone into a fit of coughing and sniffles. When he got up and left to go find the woman in his clan named Shashin, the little girl had followed.

"You stay here, Yu."

"Yes sir.

When he had come back with Shashin, the little girl was gone.

"What did she say her name was?" Shashin asked.

"Yu. Do you know her?"

"Oh my god...."

"What?"

"Samanosuke, you know that you are my son, what you don't know is that while I was away, I um......was pregnant....I had a little girl....and I named her Yu...."

Samanosuke came back to reality. Those damn demons had kidnapped and murdered Yu. He swore to himself that he would avenge her death, no matter to what ends.

The gravel crunched beneath his feet as he walked down the man-made road. Out of his peripheral vision he saw a shadow flash through the trees. He thought it was a tree branch, but just in case, he pulled out his sword. He began walking again, still clutching his sword tightly in his right hand.

He heard a strong wind blow through the trees on his left, and immediately ducked. A split second later, and his ponytail was still struggling to go down with it's owner, a shuriken flew through the air, and cut off the end of his tail. A demon launched itself through the air. It was unlike anything he had ever seen, and as it reached the ground, he got his first full view of it.

It had glowing red eyes. On its left leg, it wore all black padding, lining the right side of the pads were several shuriken. On its right leg, was an attached Vigoorian flail. It's head was pulled back in an evil dragon-like glare. Crests of scales were pulled back from its cheeks, exposing the razor-sharp molars in it's mouth. It held up its arms, and silver glinted before Samanosuke's eyes. He blinked, and he hadn't realized what happened. Razor sharp blades had protruded from the top of his wrist. From wrist to tip of blade, was about 3 feet.

The last thing Samanosuke realized before starting the fight was this massive creature leaping up, ready to strike given the oppurtunity.

The blades slashed down at his chest. The creatur was quick, but he was quicker. He blocked with his katana, and leapt back. He jumped forward at the demon, and suddenly, it was gone. He didn't know where it was, he stared at the ground, realizing that it had broken into four or five pieces. When he started slashing at one of them, one latched onto his back. A sharp pain bolted through his back, when he touched his back with his hand, he could feel a metal object protruding from his back, it was a shuriken. He yanked out, and threw it at another blob on the ground.

As he did a flp backward, pools of blood dripped every three feet. During the time of his flip, the creature had managed to pull himself together and get behind Samanosuke. An arm blade stabbed through his back, when he looked down, a large blade stuck out of his chest. Too stunned to speak, he coughed, and a large amount of blood flew out of his mouth, and landed on the tip of the blade. THo blood dropped off, bit by bit, until finally, the final drop fell into the pool of blood under the tip of the sword, and the entire time it fell, Samanosuke watched it join the pool of crimson.

**********

Samanosuke woke up to the sound of wheels turning and horses neighing. He tried to sat up, but cringed, and lay back down. He looked down, and his entire chest was bandaged tightly. At that moment he realized that not only did it hurt to sit up, but he could not.

A picture flashed in his mind, a picture of his little sister. Then the events of the previous night reoccured to him. Everything replayed in his mind backwards. He then remembered what the demons had done to his little sister. He had gone looking for her after a shuriken with a note attached to it had almost pierced his jugular, the note had read:

We have your sister, come pick up her body and belongings

Samanosuke had been furious. When he found her body, it had been a gruesome sight. They had strung up her body like a marrionette. She had a malevolent grin on her face, when he stepped through the door to the room she was in, he stared right at her face in disgust. The corpselike quality of her body was unbearable, ragged chunks of skin had been ripped off in no apparent order, and then filled in with ink. Apparently her murder had been recent, since the ink was still dripping when he got there. That was when all hell broke looks. Demons appeared out of the shadows. He grabbed one of his shuriken, threw it at one of the demons, had hit him in the eye, then the rest attacked. He jumped out of the room, and had started killing them off one by one.

"Oh, your awake."

The voice had brought him out of his nightmare reverie.

"Who the hell are you?" Samanosuke asked.

The horses stopped, and an old man walked around the back.

"My name is Ai."

"Samanosuke."

"What happened to you? When I was on my way down the road, I found you in a huge pool of your own blood, so I bandaged you up. I'm mighty relieved your ok."

Samanosuke studied the old man. He seemed pretty normal, he was wearing some sort of odd clothing, and a straw hat, with a random weed stuck behind his ear.

"Thank you for your troubles, but I really must be going." He tried to get up, but the pain was unbearable. He managed to get to his feet, but then just collapsed back down.

"You are not going anywhere. We're almost back to my house. I can feed you and give you clothes which aren't entirely stained with blood. Just leave the jockeying to me.
