yet another gundam wing romance story, my third and final

Well, it seems as though everyone liked the last two so here is the third and finale chapter of Gundam Wing: The Heart of Wing Gundam and Shifting Minds. This sort of stuff here is more my department. Now, for people who have seen G Gundam, they?ll now what I?m talking about in the last few paragraphs. I hope that I have captured all the drama here. Even if I didn?t? this still deserves some award. This is the final chapter and end of Gundam Wing?

The year, After Colony 206, with the efforts of the Earth Sphere Unified Nations, the new ship, Pioneer 01, has been completed. This is the first starship to be constructed by mankind, and first attempt to explore the galaxy. The overall value symbolically makes this ship as important as Queen Relena. With this fact the Preventers have devoted fifty percent of their military force to defend the Pioneer 01 from terrorist attack. With the death of Lady Une, Mautymeia Cushrenada, under the assistance of Sally Po, has taken charge of the Preventers. Even though Pioneer 01 is a ship of exploration, it has been designed to defend itself with beam cannons equivalent to Wing 0?s twin buster rifle, heavy yield torpedoes, and anti-assault fighter craft? Developed by the gundam developers, this craft was designed for high speed, high maneuverability attacks and had a small complement of laser guided missiles, and a large set of thrusters to accommodate a beam cannon equal to Wing Gundam?s buster rifle. These craft could fire their cannons while in forward motion, their middle section was formed into a sharp edge, and heated to make a heat rod. Each craft was built with Gundamterium hull armor and had a micro shield generator. They looked like miniature space shuttles and were considered superior to the gundams. The gundam pilots have matured in the past years, Duo and Hilde have had their first born and the boy is of the age of two, Dorothy gave birth to Sarah who is now eleven months old, Trowa and Catherine now have a son who is three years old as well as Catherine being pregnant with a second child, and Zechs and Noin now have a six year old girl named Sam? Heero and Relena Yuy, along with their five-year-old daughter, Mary Yuy, arrive at the enormous Pioneer 01. Relena has come to commission Pioneer 01, while Heero tags along to scoff at these superior fighters. In front of spectators, Relena in her space suit, throws a bottle of her favorite wine and commissions the ship. Captain Henry Dulivan, elected by the E.S.U.N., offers Heero and his family to tour the ship. Heero accepts and they enter the Pioneer.
Looking on from the crowd, Wufei, Zechs and Noin, Heero?s friends, and their wives watch on. Duo watches Heero enter the Pioneer 01. He smiles and says, ?That captain better keep his eye on Heero.? Catherine at Duo in confusion and said, ?Why is that?? ?Because he might sabotage those glorified space fighters.? Trowa said, ?I doubt he?d really do that.? ?Zechs smiled and said, ?I wouldn?t be surprised.? Hilde looked at Zechs and said, ?He might, then he would have to face Relena, and I don?t think Heero is dumb enough to cross her.? Quatre laughed and said, ?That?s a very good point Hilde.? Dorothy looks at Quatre and asks, ?Do they really think they believe these fighters are superior to mobile suits and gundams?? Sally looked on and said, ?They sure do, and Mautymeia here thinks so.? Noin looks at Mautymeia now twenty and says, ?What happened to your confidence in mobile suits?? ?Mobile suits are a thing of the past. These fighters were designed by the gundam developers and to be superior to the gundams.? ?I doubt they are superior to Wing 0.? ?I believe they are.? Everybody laughed at Mautymeia, except Sally, she had to respect her or get an unnecessary earful. Wufei just remained silent, seemingly waiting for what happens. Although he had other things on his mind.
Heero made it to the hanger bay, there were fifty fighters there and Heero looked at them and grunted. The eccentric Captain Dulivan came up to Heero and asked, ?So, what do you think of these fighters, are they better than the gundams?? Relena?s plan, operation ?Smiley Face,? had been a success. Heero had snapped out of his cold state as soon as his child was born and from that point on, Heero has been a loving, affectionate person, and even showed emotion. Only when he got mad did he start going cold. This worried Relena as this might put him back into his cold state. Heero turned around and looked at the Captain, and almost melted him with his eyes. Captain Dulivan stepped back and quietly said, ?Ok, I get the message, careful where you point those things.? Heero just grunted and walked off, he was not impressed with the new fighters.
Relena and Mary stepped off the ship and walked down the dock into the colony. Heero turned to shake the Captains hand. Heero evilly smiled, witch was scarier than his look and said, ?Thank you for the tour.? Captain Dulivan gave off a big fake smile and said, ?It?s been a pleasure having you aboard Mr. Yuy.? Heero smiled again and said goodbye. Heero walked down the corridor and around the corner, Captain Dulivan turned around and inhaled? and exhaled in relief and said, ?Damn, that guy is scary? yikes.?
Everyone came and greeted Relena and Heero. Duo walked up to Heero and asked, ?So did you sabotage them?? Heero sighed and said, ?I wish I had.? Heero looked at Quatre and asked, ?So when is the Pioneer 01 leaving?? ?Next month, they?re getting final crew in now.? Sally walked over to Heero and Relena and said, ?Yup, then she head to the Pluto supply base and head off into deep space for a year. They?ll head to the nearest star system and collect scientific data for two months.? Relena bent down and asked, ?Mary, how did you like the Pioneer?? ?It stinks, and those fighters, ha, they couldn?t destroy Wing 0 if their life depended on it.? Relena looked up and glared at Heero and said, ?You did this, didn?t you?? ?Oh no, I taught our child to be a kind and loving person.? ?But daddy, I thought you said the Pioneer stinks?? Relena stood up and smiled at Heero and said, ?When we get home honey, when we get home.? Heero just said, ?Ok.? He walked down the hall and off past Duo where he heard him gulp. Quatre finished talking with Trowa and walked over to Mary and said, ?Hey Mary, how you been doing?? ?I?m been doing ok, have you kicked any terror? terror? any bad guys buts yet?? ?Well no, but I?m getting close.? Quatre stands up and looks at Relena in confusion. Relena sighs and says, ?She likes to be like her father.? Quatre raises his eyebrow and said, ?So I see.? Relena sighed again and said, ?So, how long can you and Dorothy stay here?? Trowa walked up and said, ?We?re all having a reunion at my house, everyone is coming, and I was hoping you and Heero would come.? ?Could I come to?? Trowa leans down and kisses Mary?s hand and says, ?Of course you can come, I?d be silly if I didn?t invite a beautiful little girl like you.? ?Thank you, but I?m not a little girl, I?ve five years old after all.? ?Of course you are.? Relena looked at Trowa and said, ?Of course we?ll come, I have a few things to take care of at home then I?ll? we?ll be there.
Back aboard the Pioneer 01, a maintenance officer working in the hanger bay floated by and looked the new fighters. He stared at them and chuckled, he went up a walking platform and placed a small device under it. He turned around and stared at the huge room and said, ?The dawn of a era for mankind has begun.?
At Trowa?s party, Trowa and Quatre played their instruments for the crowd. Heero and his family arrived a little late. Duo noticed that Heero was a little shaken, but in tact. Duo had also noticed that Relena had a big smile on her face. It figures, ever since Heero and Relena got married, Relena has always been happy. Trowa had moved into a rural region of the colony. The house was a large two-story with a barn and five acres of space. All the kids were there and playing with each other. Hilde went to talk with Catherine and Noin about girl stuff. Duo walked over to Heero, intending to tease him and pick a fight. Duo stood there with his little drink in his hand and said to Heero, ?Hey Heero, you look like you?re getting old.? Heero raised his eyebrow, and quickly figuring he was up to something. He responded, ?I?m only twenty-four. I?m older than the day we first met when you tried to shoot me.? ?You still remember that? Wait, do you still hold that against me?? ?No. You know, you?re older than you were then too.? ?Ya, but I still look younger.? Heero only looked at him in confusion; maybe it was hormones, or just still being young, idealistic, or stupid. Duo knew he was busted, so he pretended he heard something and left before Heero could say anything else. How in the heck could he ever beat this guy. Duo was not being cowardly, he was surrendering.
Wufei had sort of isolated himself from the party, he was a quite person when he didn?t have a situation to act out on. Trowa came up to him to see if anything was wrong. Wufei?s thoughts were a little preoccupied and his mind seemed to be focused on something else than the party. Trowa stood next Wufei and said, ?So how are things at the Jupiter base?? ?Difficult, the Pioneer will making a stop by the base for a security check and we?re all getting ready for her arrival. I don?t understand how you live with it Trowa. I have always felt fulfilled when I fought battles, Heero showed me that the fulfillment wasn?t worth the cost. For a time, the need for it left, but it was returned and the longer I stay this way, the longer I become depressed?? ?My life never completely revolved around the battles I fought, there was always something else I kept my focus on. You know, its quite possible that you?re not longing for that fulfillment.? ?What do you mean?? ?There is a need, an instinctive need that every man and probably every woman has. It is the need to have a companion.? ?You think so?? ?Ya, that was defiantly the case with Heero, even he couldn?t resist. It almost drove him mad, but he eventually gave in.? ?That puts me in a better situation, I doubt I?ll meet very many people at Jupiter.? ?Why don?t you quit, there?s other things you could do for a living.? ?I could get transferred, that?s not a bad idea Trowa.? ?That?s to bad you won?t quit, Catherine was thinking about hiring a butler.? Wufei looked at Trowa who chuckled, Trowa smiled and said, ?Come, why don?t you come and enjoy the party?? Wufei looked down and smiled, and said, ?You?re right, what is that over there?? Quatre walked up to Wufei and said, ?Haven?t you played bobbing for apples?? Dorothy put her hair back, and dove in to the barrel and came out with an apple. She smiled with the apple still her mouth, she took the apple out and shook the water of her head. She stood up, and she looked at Quatre and said, ?Try to beat that.? She toke the apple and ate it slowly as to tease Quatre? and it worked. Quatre cracked his knuckles and said, ?Alright, here I come honey.? Wufei froze just staring at the haunted barrel in fear saying, ?I think I?ll pass? are there any other games you have?? ?Well, we got horseshoes.? Wufei looked at the game and spotted the kids playing it, and then spotted Duo. He didn?t know him as well as the others so he went to greet him? poor Wufei.? Trowa wasn?t catholic, but he did the cross thing for Wufei?s sake. Trowa spotted Catherine and the girls heading for the superman game and went to join them.
Mautymeia was there, she was enjoying a friendly chat with Sally. Trowa passed by and asked, ?Hey, do you two want to play with us over there?? Mautymeia smiled and said, ?Sure.? Sally got a beep from her pager and had to leave. She sighed and said, ?Trowa, it?s been a nice party, I wish I could stay, but I got a problem back at the office.? ?That?s ok, I?ll see you later.? Mautymeia sighed as well and said, ?I?m sorry you can?t stay, call me if you need me, if I?m not here, I?ll be on my way over.? ?Ok great, I?ll see you all later.? Mautymeia and Sally usually stayed together, they were colleagues, but they were also good friends. After Lady Une died, Sally took charge, but wanting to start a life of her own, Sally began tutoring Mautymeia for when she retired. Mautymeia supported the Preventers more ways then one. After the remnants of the Barton Foundation were wiped out, Mautymeia discovered a will that made her heir to a bank account with the entire Barton fortune in it. With it she footed some of the Preventers? bills as well as supplying them with advanced equipment for their missions. Under the council of Sally she also invested and purchased small businesses to increase her account. This made the Preventers well funded and capable of stopping another world war, and support was still growing?
An hour later, Sally arrived at the Pioneer 01, the crew was frantic and Sally began to look around and see what?s going on. Sally found Captain Dulivan and asked, ?What?s the matter?? ?There was a malfunction secondary engine core, its triggering fluctuations in the main engine core witch is causing the system to become unstable!? ?This isn?t good, evacuate the nonessential crew to the escape pods, and contact the fleet! Get them to tow this ship away from the colonies.? Sally was right when she said this wasn?t good, the main engine core is a thermo-nuclear power plant. If all the energy from one of the cores detonated, it would be the greatest nuclear explosion in the history of mankind, as well as the last. The Pioneer had been designed to use the equivalent of fifty hydrogen bombs every fifteen seconds. The ship even had an on-board power plant to fuel this ship with such raw power. The explosion would stretch to the asteroid field. Nothing would survive? the preventer cruisers began to tow the ship as far as they could, but it wouldn?t be enough. ?Captain, the core is becoming increasingly unstable!? The ship began to rock around on the inside, Sally grabbed a rail bar and said, ?Can we initiate an emergency core shut down?? ?No, the vents are at maximum, but the core is still charging!? ?Sir, the core is cooling!? ?What?? ?It was me sir, I found the problem. There was a malfunction with one of the primary power chargers.? ?Who is this woman?? ?Lieutenant Vash maim.? ?Well Lieutenant Vash, you just saved mankind.? ?In more ways than one maim.? ?Ya, I guess you?re right.? ?This is Sally Po to all ships, the danger is over, retrieve the crew and return the Pioneer 01 to dock for repairs.? The Pioneer returned to port, Mautymeia was waiting there. Sally staggered off ship and leaned against the wall, Mautymeia walked up to Sally and said, ?Are you ok Sally?? ?Ya, but the ship almost exploded.? ?Exploded, why?? ?There was a malfunction in the secondary engine core. They?re still trying to figure out how it happened.? ?We should discontinue the tours, it?s just to dangerous.? ?You?re right, I?ll have that done right away.? ?Sally, I?m glad your ok.? ?And I?m glad you?re ok too.? Sally walked down the long hall, time seemed to slow down, and turns around and looks back at Mautymeia and smiled. She turned back and walked the white hall until she was gone?
Three weeks passed with no incident, Heero, his family, and his friends had gone through their regular routine. Sally was at L3X18999, rounding up some old ?problems? from the last great struggle. A man bursted out from a closet, and starts to put Sally in a sleeper hold. Sally stepped to the side and grabbed his arm. She slips under his arm and gets behind his back still holding his arm. She pushed him across the stingy apartment living room into the wall and breaking it. The man fell to the floor unconscious, when another man charged out from the next room. He swung at her and Sally leaned back. She grabbed his wrist and elbow and locked it place. She bent him over, and kicked him in the face knocking the man onto his back and putting him out. Sally turned hearing a zipper and seconds later a man bursted out from the bathroom. The man ran toward her, hoping to tackle her. She ducked? the man flipped over on his back. She turned and said, ?I think you forgot to flush, maybe its just you.? ?I?ll kill you? you little? ?Hold it right there.? Sally stuck her foot on his neck and asked, ?Why did you bomb that convoy, why did you wait after all these years to make a move?? ?I had a mission to save mankind.? ?What mission, didn?t you realize that convoy was carrying materials for repairing the colony?? ?Yes, mankind cannot be allowed to live in space.? ?Why?? ?Mankind only destroys. While we lived on Earth, the planet suffered from our carelessness and warfare. In the last wars, Earth suffered, but space as well. If man doesn?t destroy himself, he?ll destroy the universe?? ? You know, wherever man goes, the ideal of peace always follows, man will not destroy the universe? he will save it. But why did you attack now?? ?To begin my mission?? ?To begin your mission, what part of the mission will you finish?? ?You??
It was one a.m. in the morning, and Relena was dreaming that she was in a peaceful meadow with Heero, she was happy cause she obtained this peace. They were lying in this field of flowers, Heero and Relena were rapped in each other?s arms when the moment was broken by a horrifying scream. It scared Relena so bad she sat up in the bed screaming. She scared Heero some much, he fell out of the bed. She out her hand on her chest trying to breath straight. She looked over to Heero only to see a shaky hand grip the bed and pull Heero up. Heero staggered to his feet and said, ?Relena are you alright, are you hurt?? She looked Heero with an innocent look and said, ?No? are you ok?? ?What happened?? Just then the phone rang. Herro picked up the phone and said, ?Hello, who is this?? ?This is Duo, Heero, turn on the news, you need to see this.? ?I?ll be over there to tell you more, bye.? ?What is it Heero, who was it?? ?That was Duo, he said we should watch the news, he?s on his way here now.? ?Alright, let me get dressed.?
Heero went to the door to watch for Duo. Relena went the television and turned it on. A news flash had come on all the channels, the anchorman came on and said, ?Ladies and gentlemen, we bring you a news flash and warn you that this may be disturbing for some viewers. An explosion has made a gapping three-mile by four-mile hole in colony L3X18999. While this explosion caused significant damage on the outside, over twenty miles of cities at L3X18999 have been leveled by a series of devastating explosions.? ?Oh my? this is? horrible.? ?The colony?s containment field have prevented any more damage, but there is an estimated two-hundred thousand dead and thousands more injured.? Heero walked in with Duo. Relena watched in shock as the news chopper flew over the destruction filming it. Duo walked in saying, ?Its horrible, I know? I thought after all this time that I had seen the last of this. They say that this was the most devastating terrorist attack in human history, and there?s more.? Heero looked at Duo and asked, ?What is that?? ?Sally Po was in that explosion.? ?Are you kidding?? ?No, I?m not.? Hilde walked in and sat on the couch next to Relena and said, ?I couldn?t get a hold Mautymeia, I tried calling her house, but she wasn?t there.? ?Don?t worry about it, I?ll tell her.? ?Ok Heero? thanks.? ?Do you like being the bearer of bad news?? ?No, but its easier for me to do it.?
It was 7:30 in the morning. Mautymeia was a real morning person and was going about her business cleaning up the house. She had tried to call Sally but was unable to reach her. This wasn?t uncommon, as Sally was usually taking care of something. Mautymeia heard knocking and went to the door. She walked to the door and said, ?Who is it?? ?Its Heero, are you decent?? ?Heero Yuy, ya I?m decent come in.? Mautymeia opened the door and looked at Heero. She became frightened by the look on his face. She had seen this look before, it had been so long, but that was not look you do not forget. Heero looked as he did over eight years ago. She looked at Heero and fearfully asked, ?Is everything ok?? ?No, do you got a minute?? They sat down on the couch and looked at each other. Mautymeia asked, ?So what?s up?? ?Sally Po is dead, there was a terrorist attack last night. There is a four by three-mile hole in colony L3X18999 and over twenty miles of cities were destroyed.? Mautymeia stood still, tears ran down her face as she looked at Heero to see if somehow he was lying. ?I?m sorry for your loss, if you need anything, Relena and I are here for you.? ?Thank you, could you please leave now?? ?Yes, I will, goodbye Mautymeia.? Heero walked out the door, Mautymeia slipped off the couch and onto the floor. She bent over from the pain, and cried herself to sleep. Heero walked out of the building and hopped into his car. Heero started to turn the ignition when he noticed a man sitting in the ally. He had a device in his hand and was walking down the ally. Heero got out and followed him. The man hooked the device onto the wall and was about to turn it on. Heero charged him and kicked his face knocking him on the ground. He grabbed his shirt and held his fist in the air. He looked at him and said, ?Who sent you, why did you kill sally Po?? The man spat and said, ?Go to hell!? He hit his watch and the watch started counting down from twenty seconds. Heero grabbed the device and the guy and threw him the garbage dumpster. He locked it shut and ran for cover. Heero ran around the corner and braced him self. A wave of fire shot out and burned part if Heero?s shirt.
The police arrived. Heero filled out his report, went home, and told Relena he was ok. Relena sat Heero on the couch and laid to rest. Relena went into the kitchen to get some water for Heero. She started to lean over the sink when she saw Duo. Relena looked at him and said, ?Did Heero let you in?? ?Ya, he did.? Duo walked up to Relena and put his hand on the back of her neck and said, ?Hey, is Heero ok?? Relena felt a sting on her neck on knocked Duo?s hand off. Duo said, ?It?s ok, just a little static electricity.? ?Hey, I just came to see how Heero was doing, I gota go, bye.? ?Thanks? bye Duo.? Duo went around the corner. Relena turned to fill the glass when she spotted a flash of light. It was gone and Relena filled the glass and gave it to Heero.
Two days later, the Pioneer 01 prepares to set off on its long journey. The enormous ship positions itself to launch while Heero?s friends watch on from the colony. Relena stepped up to podium and made her statement. ?We are gathered here today? to send the E.S.U.N. Pioneer 01 into space. This is the first manned starship? to launch? out of our solar system? and too another world? this ship? was built in the name of peace? and it will travel? under the flag of peace. This ship? would have taken decades to build if only one cluster of colonies was doing this. But now? we will be able to set off to another world and bring back scientific data that will teach us more about the universe around us. And possibly? colonize this world. As you can see on the screen, this planet?? ?Fools!? a man shouted from the crowd. ?You will destroy that world just as you destroyed this one, you will destroy space, and you will destroy the universe! What if you got to colonize that planet? you would do so in the blink of an eye. You would colonize world after world, new empires would rise, war would start again, and the worlds you colonized would be destroyed. Man does not have the right to live in space, the battered atmosphere of our Earth kept everything in, and you should have obeyed it.? Before Relena could respond the man pulls out a gun and aims it at Relena. Heero saw and jumped into the line of fire. The bullet caught his shoulder, and Heero was knocked to the ground. One of the bodyguards shielded Mary while another shot and killed the man in the crowd.
The launching of the Pioneer was delayed. Heero didn?t like lying in a bed, but Relena was they?re comforting him. Heero was lying unconscious in the bed. The bullet had chipped off a piece of his shoulder and the bone was replaced with drilled in steel. Relena sat in the chair rubbing Heero?s face. She started to think about the good things they had together, their love, their hearts, and their child. But then her daydreams seemed to disappear as new images appeared into her mind. Wing 0, Tallgeese, and an upgraded Tarsus suit all fighting the Pioneer. Tallgeese and Tarsus were destroying the fighters, while Wing 0 was preparing to fire at the Pioneer. One of the fighters surprised Wing 0 and it was destroyed. Tallgeese turned and rushed toward the flaming Gundam and it was destroyed. Relena heard her name in a cry of desperation from Heero as Tallgeese exploded into a white light. The Pioneer hurled itself toward the colonies where it detonated and destroyed two-thirds of the colonies. Relena seemed to be outside her body as she watched in horror. A woman?s face shadows the scene staring with her. But there?s something familiar about the look in her eyes. She knew this look all to well? it was Heero?s cold-hearted look?
Eight days later? the Pioneer launched and arrived at the Pluto supply base. The Pioneer approached the docking port. Captain Dulivan hailed the station saying, ?This is the Pioneer 01 requesting permission to dock.? ?Affirmative Pioneer 01, you are clear to dock.? Lieutenant Vash turned in her seat and looked out the window with her Persian blue eyes into the black of space. She was five six, had long brown hair and was muscular for a woman. She looked at Captain Dulivan and asked, ?Captain? are you afraid of what?s out there?? ?No? No, I?m not? humanity must be brave if we are to venture to new worlds.? The Pioneer docked at the supply base; half of the highest-ranking officers from captain on down were invited to the mess hall. In the mess hall, all the men sat down singing drinking songs and toasting to the Pioneer. Just then all the doors slammed shut? Captain Dulivan stood up and said, ?What?s going on here?? One of the doors was opened and a gas bomb was thrown in and the crew knocked unconscious.
Relena went to bed with Heero? she missed him in bed, but he?ll get better some time. She gently rested her head on the pillow and closed her eyes. She started to drift to sleep when she felt an odd feeling the back of her neck. The pain momentarily increased and her eyes flung open. She sat up, looked around the room, and rubbed her neck. And then random memories began flashing before her. She heard a whisper in her mind. Memories of conversations kept randomly appearing in her mind. But she also noticed that these memories were forming sentences. She found herself focusing on a single word. The words formed to say, ?You. Must. Listen. To me? You. Must. Listen. To me?? She turned to look at Heero who was still asleep. She looked down at the covers and said, ?Who is this?? ?This. Is. Duo? I. Created. A message. For. You. To see? It is. Very important. Very important. That you. Understand. This. Message.? ?Duo? where are you?? ?Right now. I am dead. I am dead? I. Am. The Duo. That. Patted. Your neck. And. Told you. To. Turn on the news? When I. Patted. Your neck. I. Installed. The. 0 system. 0 system. Into. Your. Spinal cord.? ?Why did you do that?? Suddenly her new memory of Wing 0 being destroyed came to her again. ?Heero. Heero. Was. Unable. Unable. To. Stop. The enemy?? Relena?s memory of the woman surfaced again. ?Do. You. You. Recognize. This. Woman? Do. You. You. Recognize. This. Woman?? ?Yes? she seems familiar.? ?Her. Name. Name. Is. Lieutenant Vash. Lieutenant Vash. If. Heero. Faces. Lieutenant Vash. Lieutenant Vash? He. Will be. Equally matched. Equally matched. He. Will be. Equally matched. The. 0 system. To. Defeat. Vash.? ?But I don?t know how to pilot a gundam? If this is the real Duo as a ghost or whatever? than you know that I can?t do that.? ?I. Have. Given. Instructions. To. Pilot. Wing 0. Wing 0. You must. Do this. Or. Humanity. Will be. Destroyed. Destroyed?? Relena?s entire view went into space. She looked around seeing the miles of debris from the destroyed colonies. Duo appeared in front of her? he looked at her and said, ?Relena, there is not much power left in the device I gave you. It relies on your body?s energy while your disconnected from Wing 0. It will keep you asleep for as long as it needs to charge. When you wake up in the morning, get Heero up and ask him about Wing 0 and if he destroyed it. Relena? this woman, Lieutenant Vash? she cannot persuaded to stop, her men cannot be negotiated with, and she will not accept surrender. This is your only chance to save humanity. The nuclear explosion created a tear in space? the survivors discovered that we could travel through time if we enter the tear. But if the Pioneer explodes this time, the tear won?t form. Lieutenant Vash somehow survived and forced humanity to live on Earth? if you don?t do this, this is what will happen.? The image in her mind began to fade. She saw the Pioneer heading towards the tiny little planet called Earth. The Pioneer stopped, and a white light ended her memory?
Relena woke up and wasted no time to wake up Heero. She pushed him a little bit to try and wake him up, but it wasn?t working. Half of mankind was on the line and this idiot picked this day to be a heavy sleeper. Mary walks in and witnesses Relena?s efforts. She gets an evil smirk on her cute little face and takes Relena?s hands off of Heero. She looks at him in a loving gaze and says, ?Daddy?? Heero half asleep just went, ?Huh?? ?Daddy? I hate to wake you up, but I just don?t know what to do?? ?What is it?? Heero said in his groggy voice. Remaining calm Mary said, ?Well, this big man came in last night through the window and said he was going to borrow mommy? But its morning and mommy still not back yet.? ?What!? Heero jumped strait off the bed and onto his feet. He looked around franticly to see Relena just sitting there on the bed. He looked at Mary wandering how much of Relena?s genes were passed on to her. Mary innocently said, ?Oh, there she is. I better go now.? Mary walked out of the room. Heero straitened his back and said, ?Man? what a way to start the morning.? ?Heero we need to talk. Did you destroy Wing Gundam?? Heero just looked at her? he knew it was no use trying to lie about it now. If she had a clue, it was no use trying to hide the facts. ?Remember your anniversary present two years ago?? ?Ya, it made up part of the house.? ?Come with me.?
Heero had a library built for Relena? It was as tall as the palace and was shaped like a silo. Heero walked to the door handle and twisted it. He pulled it out and revealed a keypad. He entered a password and pushed the handle in. Relena watched through the window and the floor slid away. Thick steel walls slowly came up the sides of the room and revealed the mighty Gundam Wing 0 custom fully restored. Relena looked at Heero in surprise and said, ?Why did you keep this?? ?For insurance??
They went down into the chamber where Relena saw Tallgeese and Tarsus. ?You have three suits in here?? ?Those two are Zechs? and Noin?s mobile suits. They hardly need them so I agreed to keep them here.? Relena looked at him dead serious and said, ?Alright? Heero I don?t want any questioning on this ok.? ?Ok, what is it?? ?I?m going to pilot Wing 0. You go and install the 0 system into Tallgeese and pilot him. Zechs can pilot Tarsus and that way if he dies, Noin can take care of Sam.? ?Alright, I?ll call Zechs? I must know, why do you want to pilot Wing 0?? ?There is a ?problem? with the Pioneer.? ?Ok.? Zechs later came over with Howard who had a little present. Relena saw Howard and said, ?Why did you bring him?? Zechs responded, ?Heero told me there was something wrong with the Pioneer so I contacted Howard who was working on a little gadget.? ?Hello Miss Yuy, who is going pilot Torres?? ?He is??
A small port opened on the side of the colony. Wing 0 came out first in its mobile armor mode. Tallgeese comes out next and Heero puts on his war face. Tarsus came out with a bazooka bigger than the suit. And then? Relena activates the booster? Tallgeese and Tarsus hope onto sleds and take off.
?Captain, we passing the Uranus orbit now. Engineering reports your weapon is ready maim.? ?Just in time.? ?What do you mean?? ?Look.? The confused officer looked out the window and saw three tiny lights ahead. The man gasped and said, ?All hands to status one combat, enemies are approaching!? Vash leans forward and says, ?All pilots to your fighters, destroy the enemy! Hanger bay, open the doors, prepare to release the shield and get my weapon ready to launch now!? Vash ran out of the bridge and down to the hanger bay.
?Heero to Relena? we?ve been detected, deploy Wing 0.? ?Roger.? Relena pushes the buttons almost as if its second nature to her. She awakes with the cockpit and activates Wing 0. The booster falls away and Wing 0 opens and unfolds its wings like a true Wing Gundam. Wing 0 builds up and launches toward the Pioneer. Tallgeese and Tarsus ditch their sleds and fly on their own to the Pioneer. Tarsus moves to the front and waits for the fighters.
Little lights began flashing to the right of the Pioneer? they are coming? Zechs watches his monitor? a timer begins to count down from ten. The screen begins flash? ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one? fire! Tarsus fires the bazooka and a torpedo comes out? The torpedo fires off and heads toward the fighters? the torpedo detonates in the middle of the formation and a shockwave hits all the fighters. Expendable crewman #1 looks at his screen as it blinks, ?Warning! Micro-Shields Inoperative!? The crewman looks up and says, ?Oh no!? Tallgeese takes out its Mega Beam Cannon and charges? Heero grunts and says, ?So much for being superior to gundams? GLORIFIED SPACE FIGHTERS!? Heero fires and destroys almost all the fighters. With only six left, Tallgeese, Tarsus, and Wing 0 move in for the kill. Tarsus spins upward and fires at the fighter, but only dents it. The fighter turns up and fires at Tarsus. Zechs dodges the fighter and pulls out the beam saber? Tarsus slices the upper half of the fighter and destroys it. A fighter and Heero gasps as it heads strait for her. Relena starts to panic when a she gains a control on herself that she never felt before. Wing 0 blasts up and runs along the fighter and turns around, she rips out the beam saber and drives it into the engines? the fighter explodes. The fighters pair off and one heads for Tallgeese and another for Wing 0. Relena splits her rifle, fires at both pairs, and they burst into flames. Duo?s voice shouts into her mind saying, ?Say activate 0 system now!? Relena braced herself and said, ?Activate? 0 system?? All the muscles in her body tighten and eyes feel as if they?re getting wider. Before she aims at the Pioneer she notices that a fighter survived. She looks over to her right and says, ?There!? She takes out the beam saber and sliced clean through the blade and the whole fighter was cut in half. Heero sees the fighter and rushes toward Wing 0. Heero cries out to Relena? just then a shot from the direction of the Pioneer hits the Tallgeese. An explosion surrounded Tallgeese, but it survived, and with one engine. Relena cries out to Heero and says, ?Heero, trade suits quick!? ?Rodger.? Zechs, give us some cover fire!? ?Understood!? Tallgeese lines up with Wing 0 and Heero and Relena come out. They jump toward each other and grab each other's arms. They swing in their cockpits and start their gundams?
Relena takes Tallgeese and blasts away from the battlefield. Tarsus heads toward the Pioneer bridge and Heero heads in the direction of the shot.
Heero heads on until he?s stopped? by a new gundam? This gundam had the same weapons as Wing 0, and even the same wings, but the chest was designed to look like a woman?s chest, the gundam was also a little more slender than Wing 0, and it was called Dark Angel Gundam? Heero pushed the intercom and said, ?Who is this?? Heero hears a chuckle over the speaker and sees a woman appear on the monitor, it was the same woman Relena saw in her dream. ?Its nice to see my little brother, I see training went well for you?? ?What! What are you talking about?? ?Your dad wasn?t lucky the first two times he tried to have children. You have two sisters Heero, congratulations.? ?Where is the other sister?? ?Dead? you killed her Heero. Its ok, there wasn?t much that could be done in your position at the time.? ?What, who was it?? ?You would know her as Lady Une.? ?That?s crazy!? ?Not really, you see? Lady Une was second born, and she went through the training you did. I went through the training you did. Lady Une had an accident in training, but no one knew it until someone told her that she completed her training. Women unfortunately have less muscle tissue the men so they decided that two women were as good or better than one man. But when Lady Une, or Lady Casilia went crazy, she was discarded. My mother was already pregnant with you and so Lady Casilia was born of a different mother. So she is your or was your step sister. When they discovered you were a male, they discarded me as well. They put me into a foster home where I would disappear and wouldn?t be traced to them. When I saw the wars erupting, I stayed in the shadows and watched on. I knew that at lest one side would lose so I waited for the aftermath and recovered the remains.? ?So why are you doing this?? ?Because I have the same beliefs as you once had Heero. The belief that mankind cannot live in space.? ?So you won?t change your beliefs like I did when I realized that man has the right to be in space.? ?No, because he doesn?t, you think that way now because of this peace and that Relena. I?m still surprised you married a pacifist, that would be the last person I?d marry.? ?People change?? A tear rolled down Vash?s face and she said, ?I can?t??
Wing 0 and Dark Angel begin to duel with their sabers? everything Heero does, Vash counters, everything Vash does, Heero counters, and the two are locked in an epic battle.
Tarsus is taking damage, Zechs gets tired of this and points the beam rifle at the bridge? The crew still doesn?t surrender and he blasts the bridge out. The Pioneer?s engines are disabled and the ship begins to slow. Tarsus makes it around to the back and enters the bay. Zechs gets out with a canister and a gas mask and begins to fight his way to environmental control.
Wing 0 and Dark Angel have lost their beam cannons and are continuing to duel with their sabers. Vash begins to take the upper hand and says, ?You?ve become weak Heero, and you were never worthy to pilot that gundam? I should have had it!? Heero is fighting with everything he?s got, but she?s right? he is weaker then she is. Just then Relena returns to join Heero.
Zechs runs into a little ?problem? and pulls out a grenade. He throws it and it bounces of the wall, around the corner, and explodes. He runs down the hall and into the control room. He seals the doors and puts on his mask. He attaches the canister and says, ?Lights out boys.? He pulls the lever and like flies they all drop dead.
Heero continues to weaken and Vash comes in for another attack. Relena calls to Heero and Heero hesitates. Vash slices off Wing 0?s arm up to the shoulder and Heero backs away. Dark Angel is faster than Wing 0 and comes in for the kill, and Vash says, ?I?m sorry it has to be this way, but I know that you would never accept my plan for humanity.? Heero sees Dark Angel and says with his bloody lips, ?And I?m sorry I will have to kill my flesh and blood?? Wing 0 fires its machine guns, but its not enough? Dark Angel positions its saber, its eyes seem to stare right into Wing 0?s eyes. She comes in for the kill when the Tallgeese come out of nowhere and draws out its saber. Relena shouts to Vash, ?Die!? Tallgeese comes toward Dark Angel and prepares to strike. Vash sees it coming and turns to counter. Vash blocks her taking off the whole arm. She brings saber around and just when she begins to thrust? Wing 0 grabs Dark Angel?s arm, brings his leg up and crams in her in the face. Heero shouts to Vash, ?Goodbye Vash?? Wing 0 twist Dark Angel?s arm in and stabs herself with it. In her dieing breath she cries out, ?Heero, mankind cannot exist in space! If they do they will destroy lives like ours! Why can?t you see the truth!? A tear fell from her cold, dieing eyes, and Dark Angel Gundam exploded into a bright white light. Wing 0 turned around and shielded Tallgeese with its wings. The explosion ended with a few blue specs fading into nothing?
Zechs watched from a window near the bridge. ?Very good Heero? I?m glad for what you did for her.? He turned and walked up to a control panel. He entered commands and the Pioneer came to a stop. He sighed in relief and stepped over on of the bodies toward the hanger bay. He docked Tarsus into one of the clamps and sat back thinking to himself. ?Now its over? Man does have the right to live in space. Man has the right to explore it. And if there are any forms of life out there, we will unite them in peace as we have done so with our own kind??
Hours later the Preventers cruiser arrived and towed the ship back to Earth. Wing 0, Tallgeese, and Tarsus disappeared before anyone could see them. Wufei, Duo, Quatre, Trowa who brought Mary along, and Noin arrived in another cruiser. They all greeted each other seeing that they were fine. Heero picked Mary up and held her tight. He looked at her and said, ?Are you ok Mary?? ?Ya? I love you daddy, I don?t ever want you to do that again!? ?Don?t worry honey? this will never happen again I promise you.?
The cruiser returned to the colonies? Heero, Zechs, and Relena were paraded through the crowd to their home. Relena turned and kissed Heero and looked at him. That ice-cold heart had come back, but he seemed fine.
Heero put Mary to bed and closed the door. The brave girl wasn?t afraid of the dark at all and she went to sleep. Heero turned and leaned against the wall. The cold look quickly faded and was replaced with remorse. Tears began to roll down Heero?s face as he sat on the floor and hugged himself. Relena kneeled down and comforted him and said, ?There was nothing you could do Heero.? Relena? please tell me its over.? ?It is Heero? it is.? Heero stretched out his arms and held her close. The fighting was finally over, but at the expense of many lives?
The Gundam Family sat on the balcony of the colony watching the Pioneer 01 preparing to launch. Relena stood in Heero?s arms, Zechs and Noin stood together holding Sam?s hands, Duo huddles Hilde while Hilde holds their little boy, Trowa holds his son?s hand and Catherine?s in the other, Quatre holds Dorothy close while she holds her child in her hands. Wufei looks on a little depressed when he spots a woman eyeing him next to where he?s sitting. The Pioneer 01 counts down, ?Five, four, three, two, one, ignition!? The Pioneer launches off into the future? a new generation has been born? and the efforts of Heero and the others? will never be forgotten as time marches on forever?

The year, After Colony 206, with the efforts of the Earth Sphere Unified Nations, the new ship, Pioneer 01, has been completed. This is the first starship to be constructed by mankind, and first attempt to explore the galaxy. The overall value symbolically makes this ship as important as Queen Relena. With this fact the Preventers have devoted fifty percent of their military force to defend the Pioneer 01 from terrorist attack. With the death of Lady Une, Mautymeia Cushrenada, under the assistance of Sally Po, has taken charge of the Preventers. Even though Pioneer 01 is a ship of exploration, it has been designed to defend itself with beam cannons equivalent to Wing 0?s twin buster rifle, heavy yield torpedoes, and anti-assault fighter craft? Developed by the gundam developers, this craft was designed for high speed, high maneuverability attacks and had a small complement of laser guided missiles, and a large set of thrusters to accommodate a beam cannon equal to Wing Gundam?s buster rifle. These craft could fire their cannons while in forward motion, their middle section was formed into a sharp edge, and heated to make a heat rod. Each craft was built with Gundamterium hull armor and had a micro shield generator. They looked like miniature space shuttles and were considered superior to the gundams. The gundam pilots have matured in the past years, Duo and Hilde have had their first born and the boy is of the age of two, Dorothy gave birth to Sarah who is now eleven months old, Trowa and Catherine now have a son who is three years old as well as Catherine being pregnant with a second child, and Zechs and Noin now have a six year old girl named Sam? Heero and Relena Yuy, along with their five-year-old daughter, Mary Yuy, arrive at the enormous Pioneer 01. Relena has come to commission Pioneer 01, while Heero tags along to scoff at these superior fighters. In front of spectators, Relena in her space suit, throws a bottle of her favorite wine and commissions the ship. Captain Henry Dulivan, elected by the E.S.U.N., offers Heero and his family to tour the ship. Heero accepts and they enter the Pioneer.
Looking on from the crowd, Wufei, Zechs and Noin, Heero?s friends, and their wives watch on. Duo watches Heero enter the Pioneer 01. He smiles and says, ?That captain better keep his eye on Heero.? Catherine at Duo in confusion and said, ?Why is that?? ?Because he might sabotage those glorified space fighters.? Trowa said, ?I doubt he?d really do that.? ?Zechs smiled and said, ?I wouldn?t be surprised.? Hilde looked at Zechs and said, ?He might, then he would have to face Relena, and I don?t think Heero is dumb enough to cross her.? Quatre laughed and said, ?That?s a very good point Hilde.? Dorothy looks at Quatre and asks, ?Do they really think they believe these fighters are superior to mobile suits and gundams?? Sally looked on and said, ?They sure do, and Mautymeia here thinks so.? Noin looks at Mautymeia now twenty and says, ?What happened to your confidence in mobile suits?? ?Mobile suits are a thing of the past. These fighters were designed by the gundam developers and to be superior to the gundams.? ?I doubt they are superior to Wing 0.? ?I believe they are.? Everybody laughed at Mautymeia, except Sally, she had to respect her or get an unnecessary earful. Wufei just remained silent, seemingly waiting for what happens. Although he had other things on his mind.
Heero made it to the hanger bay, there were fifty fighters there and Heero looked at them and grunted. The eccentric Captain Dulivan came up to Heero and asked, ?So, what do you think of these fighters, are they better than the gundams?? Relena?s plan, operation ?Smiley Face,? had been a success. Heero had snapped out of his cold state as soon as his child was born and from that point on, Heero has been a loving, affectionate person, and even showed emotion. Only when he got mad did he start going cold. This worried Relena as this might put him back into his cold state. Heero turned around and looked at the Captain, and almost melted him with his eyes. Captain Dulivan stepped back and quietly said, ?Ok, I get the message, careful where you point those things.? Heero just grunted and walked off, he was not impressed with the new fighters.
Relena and Mary stepped off the ship and walked down the dock into the colony. Heero turned to shake the Captains hand. Heero evilly smiled, witch was scarier than his look and said, ?Thank you for the tour.? Captain Dulivan gave off a big fake smile and said, ?It?s been a pleasure having you aboard Mr. Yuy.? Heero smiled again and said goodbye. Heero walked down the corridor and around the corner, Captain Dulivan turned around and inhaled? and exhaled in relief and said, ?Damn, that guy is scary? yikes.?
Everyone came and greeted Relena and Heero. Duo walked up to Heero and asked, ?So did you sabotage them?? Heero sighed and said, ?I wish I had.? Heero looked at Quatre and asked, ?So when is the Pioneer 01 leaving?? ?Next month, they?re getting final crew in now.? Sally walked over to Heero and Relena and said, ?Yup, then she head to the Pluto supply base and head off into deep space for a year. They?ll head to the nearest star system and collect scientific data for two months.? Relena bent down and asked, ?Mary, how did you like the Pioneer?? ?It stinks, and those fighters, ha, they couldn?t destroy Wing 0 if their life depended on it.? Relena looked up and glared at Heero and said, ?You did this, didn?t you?? ?Oh no, I taught our child to be a kind and loving person.? ?But daddy, I thought you said the Pioneer stinks?? Relena stood up and smiled at Heero and said, ?When we get home honey, when we get home.? Heero just said, ?Ok.? He walked down the hall and off past Duo where he heard him gulp. Quatre finished talking with Trowa and walked over to Mary and said, ?Hey Mary, how you been doing?? ?I?m been doing ok, have you kicked any terror? terror? any bad guys buts yet?? ?Well no, but I?m getting close.? Quatre stands up and looks at Relena in confusion. Relena sighs and says, ?She likes to be like her father.? Quatre raises his eyebrow and said, ?So I see.? Relena sighed again and said, ?So, how long can you and Dorothy stay here?? Trowa walked up and said, ?We?re all having a reunion at my house, everyone is coming, and I was hoping you and Heero would come.? ?Could I come to?? Trowa leans down and kisses Mary?s hand and says, ?Of course you can come, I?d be silly if I didn?t invite a beautiful little girl like you.? ?Thank you, but I?m not a little girl, I?ve five years old after all.? ?Of course you are.? Relena looked at Trowa and said, ?Of course we?ll come, I have a few things to take care of at home then I?ll? we?ll be there.
Back aboard the Pioneer 01, a maintenance officer working in the hanger bay floated by and looked the new fighters. He stared at them and chuckled, he went up a walking platform and placed a small device under it. He turned around and stared at the huge room and said, ?The dawn of a era for mankind has begun.?
At Trowa?s party, Trowa and Quatre played their instruments for the crowd. Heero and his family arrived a little late. Duo noticed that Heero was a little shaken, but in tact. Duo had also noticed that Relena had a big smile on her face. It figures, ever since Heero and Relena got married, Relena has always been happy. Trowa had moved into a rural region of the colony. The house was a large two-story with a barn and five acres of space. All the kids were there and playing with each other. Hilde went to talk with Catherine and Noin about girl stuff. Duo walked over to Heero, intending to tease him and pick a fight. Duo stood there with his little drink in his hand and said to Heero, ?Hey Heero, you look like you?re getting old.? Heero raised his eyebrow, and quickly figuring he was up to something. He responded, ?I?m only twenty-four. I?m older than the day we first met when you tried to shoot me.? ?You still remember that? Wait, do you still hold that against me?? ?No. You know, you?re older than you were then too.? ?Ya, but I still look younger.? Heero only looked at him in confusion; maybe it was hormones, or just still being young, idealistic, or stupid. Duo knew he was busted, so he pretended he heard something and left before Heero could say anything else. How in the heck could he ever beat this guy. Duo was not being cowardly, he was surrendering.
Wufei had sort of isolated himself from the party, he was a quite person when he didn?t have a situation to act out on. Trowa came up to him to see if anything was wrong. Wufei?s thoughts were a little preoccupied and his mind seemed to be focused on something else than the party. Trowa stood next Wufei and said, ?So how are things at the Jupiter base?? ?Difficult, the Pioneer will making a stop by the base for a security check and we?re all getting ready for her arrival. I don?t understand how you live with it Trowa. I have always felt fulfilled when I fought battles, Heero showed me that the fulfillment wasn?t worth the cost. For a time, the need for it left, but it was returned and the longer I stay this way, the longer I become depressed?? ?My life never completely revolved around the battles I fought, there was always something else I kept my focus on. You know, its quite possible that you?re not longing for that fulfillment.? ?What do you mean?? ?There is a need, an instinctive need that every man and probably every woman has. It is the need to have a companion.? ?You think so?? ?Ya, that was defiantly the case with Heero, even he couldn?t resist. It almost drove him mad, but he eventually gave in.? ?That puts me in a better situation, I doubt I?ll meet very many people at Jupiter.? ?Why don?t you quit, there?s other things you could do for a living.? ?I could get transferred, that?s not a bad idea Trowa.? ?That?s to bad you won?t quit, Catherine was thinking about hiring a butler.? Wufei looked at Trowa who chuckled, Trowa smiled and said, ?Come, why don?t you come and enjoy the party?? Wufei looked down and smiled, and said, ?You?re right, what is that over there?? Quatre walked up to Wufei and said, ?Haven?t you played bobbing for apples?? Dorothy put her hair back, and dove in to the barrel and came out with an apple. She smiled with the apple still her mouth, she took the apple out and shook the water of her head. She stood up, and she looked at Quatre and said, ?Try to beat that.? She toke the apple and ate it slowly as to tease Quatre? and it worked. Quatre cracked his knuckles and said, ?Alright, here I come honey.? Wufei froze just staring at the haunted barrel in fear saying, ?I think I?ll pass? are there any other games you have?? ?Well, we got horseshoes.? Wufei looked at the game and spotted the kids playing it, and then spotted Duo. He didn?t know him as well as the others so he went to greet him? poor Wufei.? Trowa wasn?t catholic, but he did the cross thing for Wufei?s sake. Trowa spotted Catherine and the girls heading for the superman game and went to join them.
Mautymeia was there, she was enjoying a friendly chat with Sally. Trowa passed by and asked, ?Hey, do you two want to play with us over there?? Mautymeia smiled and said, ?Sure.? Sally got a beep from her pager and had to leave. She sighed and said, ?Trowa, it?s been a nice party, I wish I could stay, but I got a problem back at the office.? ?That?s ok, I?ll see you later.? Mautymeia sighed as well and said, ?I?m sorry you can?t stay, call me if you need me, if I?m not here, I?ll be on my way over.? ?Ok great, I?ll see you all later.? Mautymeia and Sally usually stayed together, they were colleagues, but they were also good friends. After Lady Une died, Sally took charge, but wanting to start a life of her own, Sally began tutoring Mautymeia for when she retired. Mautymeia supported the Preventers more ways then one. After the remnants of the Barton Foundation were wiped out, Mautymeia discovered a will that made her heir to a bank account with the entire Barton fortune in it. An hour later, Sally arrived at the Pioneer 01, the crew was frantic and Sally began to look around and see what?s going on. Sally found Captain Dulivan and asked, ?What?s the matter?? ?There was a malfunction secondary engine core, its triggering fluctuations in the main engine core witch is causing the system to become unstable!? ?This isn?t good, evacuate the nonessential crew to the escape pods, and contact the fleet! Get them to tow this ship away from the colonies.? Sally was right when she said this wasn?t good, the main engine core is a thermo-nuclear power plant. If all the energy from one of the cores detonated, it would be the greatest nuclear explosion in the history of mankind, as well as the last. The Pioneer had been designed to use the equivalent of fifty hydrogen bombs every fifteen seconds. The ship even had an on-board power plant to fuel this ship with such raw power. The explosion would stretch to the asteroid field. Nothing would survive? the preventer cruisers began to tow the ship as far as they could, but it wouldn?t be enough. ?Captain, the core is becoming increasingly unstable!? The ship began to rock around on the inside, Sally grabbed a rail bar and said, ?Can we initiate an emergency core shut down?? ?No, the vents are at maximum, but the core is still charging!? ?Sir, the core is cooling!? ?What?? ?It was me sir, I found the problem. There was a malfunction with one of the primary power chargers.? ?Who is this woman?? ?Lieutenant Vash maim.? ?Well Lieutenant Vash, you just saved mankind.? ?In more ways than one maim.? ?Ya, I guess you?re right.? ?This is Sally Po to all ships, the danger is over, retrieve the crew and return the Pioneer 01 to dock for repairs.? The Pioneer returned to port, Mautymeia was waiting there. Sally staggered off ship and leaned against the wall, Mautymeia walked up to Sally and said, ?Are you ok Sally?? ?Ya, but the ship almost exploded.? ?Exploded, why?? ?There was a malfunction in the secondary engine core. They?re still trying to figure out how it happened.? ?We should discontinue the tours, it?s just to dangerous.? ?You?re right, I?ll have that done right away.? ?Sally, I?m glad your ok.? ?And I?m glad you?re ok too.? Sally walked down the long hall, time seemed to slow down, and turns around and looks back at Mautymeia and smiled. She turned back and walked the white hall until she was gone?
Three weeks passed with no incident, Heero, his family, and his friends had gone through their regular routine. Sally was at L3X18999, rounding up some old ?problems? from the last great struggle. A man bursted out from a closet, and starts to put Sally in a sleeper hold. Sally stepped to the side and grabbed his arm. She slips under his arm and gets behind his back still holding his arm. She pushed him across the stingy apartment living room into the wall and breaking it. The man fell to the floor unconscious, when another man charged out from the next room. He swung at her and Sally leaned back. She grabbed his wrist and elbow and locked it place. She bent him over, and kicked him in the face knocking the man onto his back and putting him out. Sally turned hearing a zipper and seconds later a man bursted out from the bathroom. The man ran toward her, hoping to tackle her. She ducked? the man flipped over on his back. She turned and said, ?I think you forgot to flush, maybe its just you.? ?I?ll kill you? you little? ?Hold it right there.? Sally stuck her foot on his neck and asked, ?Why did you bomb that convoy, why did you wait after all these years to make a move?? ?I had a mission to save mankind.? ?What mission, didn?t you realize that convoy was carrying materials for repairing the colony?? ?Yes, mankind cannot be allowed to live in space.? ?Why?? ?Mankind only destroys. It was one a.m. in the morning, and Relena was dreaming that she was in a peaceful meadow with Heero, she was happy cause she obtained this peace. They were lying in this field of flowers, Heero and Relena were rapped in each other?s arms when the moment was broken by a horrifying scream. It scared Relena so bad she sat up in the bed screaming. She scared Heero some much, he fell out of the bed. She out her hand on her chest trying to breath straight. She looked over to Heero only to see a shaky hand grip the bed and pull Heero up. Heero staggered to his feet and said, ?Relena are you alright, are you hurt?? She looked Heero with an innocent look and said, ?No? are you ok?? ?What happened?? Just then the phone rang. Herro picked up the phone and said, ?Hello, who is this?? ?This is Duo, Heero, turn on the news, you need to see this.? ?I?ll be over there to tell you more, bye.? ?What is it Heero, who was it?? ?That was Duo, he said we should watch the news, he?s on his way here now.? ?Alright, let me get dressed.?
Heero went to the door to watch for Duo. Relena went the television and turned it on. While this explosion caused significant damage on the outside, over twenty miles of cities at L3X18999 have been leveled by a series of devastating explosions.? ?Oh my? this is? horrible.? ?The colony?s containment field have prevented any more damage, but there is an estimated two-hundred thousand dead and thousands more injured.? Heero walked in with Duo. Relena watched in shock as the news chopper flew over the destruction filming it. Duo walked in saying, ?Its horrible, I know? I thought after all this time that I had seen the last of this. They say that this was the most devastating terrorist attack in human history, and there?s more.? Heero looked at Duo and asked, ?What is that?? ?Sally Po was in that explosion.? ?Are you kidding?? ?No, I?m not.? Hilde walked in and sat on the couch next to Relena and said, ?I couldn?t get a hold Mautymeia, I tried calling her house, but she wasn?t there.? ?Don?t worry about it, I?ll tell her.? ?Ok Heero? thanks.? ?Do you like being the bearer of bad news?? ?No, but its easier for me to do it.?
It was 7:30 in the morning. Mautymeia was a real morning person and was going about her business cleaning up the house. She had tried to call Sally but was unable to reach her. This wasn?t uncommon, as Sally was usually taking care of something. Mautymeia heard knocking and went to the door. She walked to the door and said, ?Who is it?? ?Its Heero, are you decent?? ?Heero Yuy, ya I?m decent come in.? Mautymeia opened the door and looked at Heero. She became frightened by the look on his face. She had seen this look before, it had been so long, but that was not look you do not forget. Heero looked as he did over eight years ago. She looked at Heero and fearfully asked, ?Is everything ok?? ?No, do you got a minute?? They sat down on the couch and looked at each other. Mautymeia asked, ?So what?s up?? ?Sally Po is dead, there was a terrorist attack last night. There is a four by three-mile hole in colony L3X18999 and over twenty miles of cities were destroyed.? Mautymeia stood still, tears ran down her face as she looked at Heero to see if somehow he was lying. ?I?m sorry for your loss, if you need anything, Relena and I are here for you.? ?Thank you, could you please leave now?? ?Yes, I will, goodbye Mautymeia.? Heero walked out the door, Mautymeia slipped off the couch and onto the floor. She bent over from the pain, and cried herself to sleep. Heero walked out of the building and hopped into his car. Heero started to turn the ignition when he noticed a man sitting in the ally. He had a device in his hand and was walking down the ally. Heero got out and followed him. The man hooked the device onto the wall and was about to turn it on. Heero charged him and kicked his face knocking him on the ground. He grabbed his shirt and held his fist in the air. He looked at him and said, ?Who sent you, why did you kill sally Po?? The man spat and said, ?Go to hell!? He hit his watch and the watch started counting down from twenty seconds. Heero grabbed the device and the guy and threw him the garbage dumpster. He locked it shut and ran for cover. Heero ran around the corner and braced him self. A wave of fire shot out and burned part if Heero?s shirt.
The police arrived. Heero filled out his report, went home, and told Relena he was ok. Relena sat Heero on the couch and laid to rest. Relena went into the kitchen to get some water for Heero. She started to lean over the sink when she saw Duo. Relena looked at him and said, ?Did Heero let you in?? ?Ya, he did.? Duo walked up to Relena and put his hand on the back of her neck and said, ?Hey, is Heero ok?? Relena felt a sting on her neck on knocked Duo?s hand off. Duo said, ?It?s ok, just a little static electricity.? ?Hey, I just came to see how Heero was doing, I gota go, bye.? ?Thanks? bye Duo.? Duo went around the corner. Relena turned to fill the glass when she spotted a flash of light. It was gone and Relena filled the glass and gave it to Heero.
Two days later, the Pioneer 01 prepares to set off on its long journey. The enormous ship positions itself to launch while Heero?s friends watch on from the colony. Relena stepped up to podium and made her statement. ?We are gathered here today? to send the E.S.U.N. Pioneer 01 into space. This is the first manned starship? to launch? out of our solar system? and too another world? this ship? was built in the name of peace? and it will travel? under the flag of peace. This ship? would have taken decades to build if only one cluster of colonies was doing this. But now? we will be able to set off to another world and bring back scientific data that will teach us more about the universe around us. And possibly? colonize this world. As you can see on the screen, this planet?? ?Fools!? a man shouted from the crowd. ?You will destroy that world just as you destroyed this one, you will destroy space, and you will destroy the universe! What if you got to colonize that planet? you would do so in the blink of an eye. You would colonize world after world, new empires would rise, war would start again, and the worlds you colonized would be destroyed. Man does not have the right to live in space, the battered atmosphere of our Earth kept everything in, and you should have obeyed it.? Before Relena could respond the man pulls out a gun and aims it at Relena. Heero saw and jumped into the line of fire. The bullet caught his shoulder, and Heero was knocked to the ground. One of the bodyguards shielded Mary while another shot and killed the man in the crowd.
The launching of the Pioneer was delayed. Heero didn?t like lying in a bed, but Relena was they?re comforting him. Heero was lying unconscious in the bed. The bullet had chipped off a piece of his shoulder and the bone was replaced with drilled in steel. Relena sat in the chair rubbing Heero?s face. She started to think about the good things they had together, their love, their hearts, and their child. But then her daydreams seemed to disappear as new images appeared into her mind. Wing 0, Tallgeese, and an upgraded Tarsus suit all fighting the Pioneer. Tallgeese and Tarsus were destroying the fighters, while Wing 0 was preparing to fire at the Pioneer. One of the fighters surprised Wing 0 and it was destroyed. Tallgeese turned and rushed toward the flaming Gundam and it was destroyed. Relena heard her name in a cry of desperation from Heero as Tallgeese exploded into a white light. The Pioneer hurled itself toward the colonies where it detonated and destroyed two-thirds of the colonies. Relena seemed to be outside her body as she watched in horror. A woman?s face shadows the scene staring with her. But there?s something familiar about the look in her eyes. She knew this look all to well? it was Heero?s cold-hearted look?
Eight days later? the Pioneer launched and arrived at the Pluto supply base. The Pioneer approached the docking port. Captain Dulivan hailed the station saying, ?This is the Pioneer 01 requesting permission to dock.? ?Affirmative Pioneer 01, you are clear to dock.? Lieutenant Vash turned in her seat and looked out the window with her Persian blue eyes into the black of space. She was five six, had long brown hair and was muscular for a woman. She looked at Captain Dulivan and asked, ?Captain? are you afraid of what?s out there?? ?No? No, I?m not? humanity must be brave if we are to venture to new worlds.? The Pioneer docked at the supply base; half of the highest-ranking officers from captain on down were invited to the mess hall. In the mess hall, all the men sat down singing drinking songs and toasting to the Pioneer. Just then all the doors slammed shut? Captain Dulivan stood up and said, ?What?s going on here?? One of the doors was opened and a gas bomb was thrown in and the crew knocked unconscious.
Relena went to bed with Heero? she missed him in bed, but he?ll get better some time. She gently rested her head on the pillow and closed her eyes. She started to drift to sleep when she felt an odd feeling the back of her neck. The pain momentarily increased and her eyes flung open. She sat up, looked around the room, and rubbed her neck. And then random memories began flashing before her. She heard a whisper in her mind. Memories of conversations kept randomly appearing in her mind. But she also noticed that these memories were forming sentences. She found herself focusing on a single word. The words formed to say, ?You. Must. Listen. To me? You. Must. Listen. To me?? She turned to look at Heero who was still asleep. She looked down at the covers and said, ?Who is this?? ?This. Is. Duo? I. Created. A message. For. You. To see? It is. Very important. Very important. That you. Understand. This. Message.? ?Duo? where are you?? ?Right now. I am dead. I am dead? I. Am. The Duo. That. Patted. Your neck. And. Told you. To. Turn on the news? When I. Patted. Your neck. I. Installed. The. 0 system. 0 system. Into. Your. Spinal cord.? ?Why did you do that?? Suddenly her new memory of Wing 0 being destroyed came to her again. ?Heero. Heero. Was. Pilot. Wing 0. Wing 0. You must. Do this. Or. Humanity. Will be. Destroyed. Destroyed?? Relena?s entire view went into space. She looked around seeing the miles of debris from the destroyed colonies. Duo appeared in front of her? he looked at her and said, ?Relena, there is not much power left in the device I gave you. It relies on your body?s energy while your disconnected from Wing 0. It will keep you asleep for as long as it needs to charge. When you wake up in the morning, get Heero up and ask him about Wing 0 and if he destroyed it. Relena? this woman, Lieutenant Vash? she cannot persuaded to stop, her men cannot be negotiated with, and she will not accept surrender. This is your only chance to save humanity. The nuclear explosion created a tear in space? the survivors discovered that we could travel through time if we enter the tear. But if the Pioneer explodes this time, the tear won?t form. Lieutenant Vash somehow survived and forced humanity to live on Earth? if you don?t do this, this is what will happen.? The image in her mind began to fade. She saw the Pioneer heading towards the tiny little planet called Earth. The Pioneer stopped, and a white light ended her memory?
Relena woke up and wasted no time to wake up Heero. She pushed him a little bit to try and wake him up, but it wasn?t working. Half of mankind was on the line and this idiot picked this day to be a heavy sleeper. Mary walks in and witnesses Relena?s efforts. She gets an evil smirk on her cute little face and takes Relena?s hands off of Heero. She looks at him in a loving gaze and says, ?Daddy?? Heero half asleep just went, ?Huh?? ?Daddy? I hate to wake you up, but I just don?t know what to do?? ?What is it?? Heero said in his groggy voice. Remaining calm Mary said, ?Well, this big man came in last night through the window and said he was going to borrow mommy? But its morning and mommy still not back yet.? ?What!? Heero jumped strait off the bed and onto his feet. He looked around franticly to see Relena just sitting there on the bed. He looked at Mary wandering how much of Relena?s genes were passed on to her. Mary innocently said, ?Oh, there she is. I better go now.? Mary walked out of the room. Heero straitened his back and said, ?Man? what a way to start the morning.? ?Heero we need to talk. Did you destroy Wing Gundam?? Heero just looked at her? he knew it was no use trying to lie about it now. If she had a clue, it was no use trying to hide the facts. ?Remember your anniversary present two years ago?? ?Ya, it made up part of the house.? ?Come with me.?
Heero had a library built for Relena? It was as tall as the palace and was shaped like a silo. Heero walked to the door handle and twisted it. He pulled it out and revealed a keypad. He entered a password and pushed the handle in. Relena watched through the window and the floor slid away. Thick steel walls slowly came up the sides of the room and revealed the mighty Gundam Wing 0 custom fully restored. Relena looked at Heero in surprise and said, ?Why did you keep this?? ?For insurance??
They went down into the chamber where Relena saw Tallgeese and Tarsus. ?You have three suits in here?? ?Those two are Zechs? and Noin?s mobile suits. They hardly need them so I agreed to keep them here.? Relena looked at him dead serious and said, ?Alright? Heero I don?t want any questioning on this ok.? ?Ok, what is it?? ?I?m going to pilot Wing 0. You go and install the 0 system into Tallgeese and pilot him. Zechs can pilot Tarsus and that way if he dies, Noin can take care of Sam.? ?Alright, I?ll call Zechs? I must know, why do you want to pilot Wing 0?? ?There is a ?problem? with the Pioneer.? ?Ok.? Zechs later came over with Howard who had a little present. Relena saw Howard and said, ?Why did you bring him?? Zechs responded, ?Heero told me there was something wrong with the Pioneer so I contacted Howard who was working on a little gadget.? ?Hello Miss Yuy, who is going pilot Torres?? ?He is??
A small port opened on the side of the colony. Wing 0 came out first in its mobile armor mode. Tallgeese comes out next and Heero puts on his war face. Tarsus came out with a bazooka bigger than the suit. And then? Relena activates the booster? Tallgeese and Tarsus hope onto sleds and take off.
?Captain, we passing the Uranus orbit now. Engineering reports your weapon is ready maim.? ?Just in time.? ?What do you mean?? ?Look.? The confused officer looked out the window and saw three tiny lights ahead. The man gasped and said, ?All hands to status one combat, enemies are approaching!? Vash leans forward and says, ?All pilots to your fighters, destroy the enemy! Hanger bay, open the doors, prepare to release the shield and get my weapon ready to launch now!? Vash ran out of the bridge and down to the hanger bay.
?Heero to Relena? we?ve been detected, deploy Wing 0.? ?Roger.? Relena pushes the buttons almost as if its second nature to her. She awakes with the cockpit and activates Wing 0. The booster falls away and Wing 0 opens and unfolds its wings like a true Wing Gundam. Wing 0 builds up and launches toward the Pioneer. Tallgeese and Tarsus ditch their sleds and fly on their own to the Pioneer. Tarsus moves to the front and waits for the fighters.
Little lights began flashing to the right of the Pioneer? they are coming? Zechs watches his monitor? a timer begins to count down from ten. The screen begins flash? ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one? fire! Tarsus fires the bazooka and a torpedo comes out? The torpedo fires off and heads toward the fighters? the torpedo detonates in the middle of the formation and a shockwave hits all the fighters. Expendable crewman #1 looks at his screen as it blinks, ?Warning! Micro-Shields Inoperative!? The crewman looks up and says, ?Oh no!? Tallgeese takes out its Mega Beam Cannon and charges? Heero grunts and says, ?So much for being superior to gundams? GLORIFIED SPACE FIGHTERS!? Heero fires and destroys almost all the fighters. With only six left, Tallgeese, Tarsus, and Wing 0 move in for the kill. Tarsus spins upward and fires at the fighter, but only dents it. The fighter turns up and fires at Tarsus. Zechs dodges the fighter and pulls out the beam saber? Tarsus slices the upper half of the fighter and destroys it. A fighter and Heero gasps as it heads strait for her. Relena starts to panic when a she gains a control on herself that she never felt before. Wing 0 blasts up and runs along the fighter and turns around, she rips out the beam saber and drives it into the engines? the fighter explodes. The fighters pair off and one heads for Tallgeese and another for Wing 0. Relena splits her rifle, fires at both pairs, and they burst into flames. Duo?s voice shouts into her mind saying, ?Say activate 0 system now!? Relena braced herself and said, ?Activate? 0 system?? All the muscles in her body tighten and eyes feel as if they?re getting wider. Before she aims at the Pioneer she notices that a fighter survived. She looks over to her right and says, ?There!? She takes out the beam saber and sliced clean through the blade and the whole fighter was cut in half. Heero sees the fighter and rushes toward Wing 0. Heero cries out to Relena? just then a shot from the direction of the Pioneer hits the Tallgeese. An explosion surrounded Tallgeese, but it survived, and with one engine. Relena cries out to Heero and says, ?Heero, trade suits quick!? ?Rodger.? Zechs, give us some cover fire!? ?Understood!? Tallgeese lines up with Wing 0 and Heero and Relena come out. They jump toward each other and grab each other's arms. They swing in their cockpits and start their gundams?
Relena takes Tallgeese and blasts away from the battlefield. Tarsus heads toward the Pioneer bridge and Heero heads in the direction of the shot.
Heero heads on until he?s stopped? by a new gundam? This gundam had the same weapons as Wing 0, and even the same wings, but the chest was designed to look like a woman?s chest, the gundam was also a little more slender than Wing 0, and it was called Dark Angel Gundam? Heero pushed the intercom and said, ?Who is this?? Heero hears a chuckle over the speaker and sees a woman appear on the monitor, it was the same woman Relena saw in her dream. ?Its nice to see my little brother, I see training went well for you?? ?What! What are you talking about?? ?Your dad wasn?t lucky the first two times he tried to have children. You have two sisters Heero, congratulations.? ?Where is the other sister?? ?Dead? you killed her Heero. Its ok, there wasn?t much that could be done in your position at the time.? ?What, who was it?? ?You would know her as Lady Une.? ?That?s crazy!? ?Not really, you see? Lady Une was second born, and she went through the training you did. I went through the training you did. Lady Une had an accident in training, but no one knew it until someone told her that she completed her training. Women unfortunately have less muscle tissue the men so they decided that two women were as good or better than one man. But when Lady Une, or Lady Casilia went crazy, she was discarded. I?m still surprised you married a pacifist, that would be the last person I?d marry.? ?People change?? A tear rolled down Vash?s face and she said, ?I can?t??
Wing 0 and Dark Angel begin to duel with their sabers? everything Heero does, Vash counters, everything Vash does, Heero counters, and the two are locked in an epic battle.
Tarsus is taking damage, Zechs gets tired of this and points the beam rifle at the bridge? The crew still doesn?t surrender and he blasts the bridge out. The Pioneer?s engines are disabled and the ship begins to slow. Tarsus makes it around to the back and enters the bay. Zechs gets out with a canister and a gas mask and begins to fight his way to environmental control.
Wing 0 and Dark Angel have lost their beam cannons and are continuing to duel with their sabers. Vash begins to take the upper hand and says, ?You?ve become weak Heero, and you were never worthy to pilot that gundam? I should have had it!? Heero is fighting with everything he?s got, but she?s right? he is weaker then she is. Just then Relena returns to join Heero.
Zechs runs into a little ?problem? and pulls out a grenade. He throws it and it bounces of the wall, around the corner, and explodes. He runs down the hall and into the control room. He seals the doors and puts on his mask. He attaches the canister and says, ?Lights out boys.? He pulls the lever and like flies they all drop dead.
Heero continues to weaken and Vash comes in for another attack. Relena calls to Heero and Heero hesitates. Vash slices off Wing 0?s arm up to the shoulder and Heero backs away. Dark Angel is faster than Wing 0 and comes in for the kill, and Vash says, ?I?m sorry it has to be this way, but I know that you would never accept my plan for humanity.? Heero sees Dark Angel and says with his bloody lips, ?And I?m sorry I will have to kill my flesh and blood?? Wing 0 fires its machine guns, but its not enough? Dark Angel positions its saber, its eyes seem to stare right into Wing 0?s eyes. She comes in for the kill when the Tallgeese come out of nowhere and draws out its saber. Relena shouts to Vash, ?Die!? Tallgeese comes toward Dark Angel and prepares to strike. Vash sees it coming and turns to counter. Vash blocks her taking off the whole arm. She brings saber around and just when she begins to thrust? Wing 0 grabs Dark Angel?s arm, brings his leg up and crams in her in the face. Heero shouts to Vash, ?Goodbye Vash?? Wing 0 twist Dark Angel?s arm in and stabs herself with it. In her dieing breath she cries out, ?Heero, mankind cannot exist in space! If they do they will destroy lives like ours! Why can?t you see the truth!? A tear fell from her cold, dieing eyes, and Dark Angel Gundam exploded into a bright white light. Wing 0 turned around and shielded Tallgeese with its wings. The explosion ended with a few blue specs fading into nothing?
Zechs watched from a window near the bridge. ?Very good Heero? I?m glad for what you did for her.? He turned and walked up to a control panel. He entered commands and the Pioneer came to a stop. He sighed in relief and stepped over on of the bodies toward the hanger bay. He docked Tarsus into one of the clamps and sat back thinking to himself. ?Now its over? Man does have the right to live in space. Man has the right to explore it. And if there are any forms of life out there, we will unite them in peace as we have done so with our own kind??
Hours later the Preventers cruiser arrived and towed the ship back to Earth. Wing 0, Tallgeese, and Tarsus disappeared before anyone could see them. Wufei, Duo, Quatre, Trowa who brought Mary along, and Noin arrived in another cruiser. They all greeted each other seeing that they were fine. Heero picked Mary up and held her tight. He looked at her and said, ?Are you ok Mary?? ?Ya? I love you daddy, I don?t ever want you to do that again!? ?Don?t worry honey? this will never happen again I promise you.?
The cruiser returned to the colonies? Heero, Zechs, and Relena were paraded through the crowd to their home. Relena turned and kissed Heero and looked at him. That ice-cold heart had come back, but he seemed fine.
Heero put Mary to bed and closed the door. The brave girl wasn?t afraid of the dark at all and she went to sleep. Heero turned and leaned against the wall. The cold look quickly faded and was replaced with remorse. Tears began to roll down Heero?s face as he sat on the floor and hugged himself. Relena kneeled down and comforted him and said, ?There was nothing you could do Heero.? Relena? please tell me its over.? ?It is Heero? it is.? Heero stretched out his arms and held her close. The fighting was finally over, but at the expense of many lives?
The Gundam Family sat on the balcony of the colony watching the Pioneer 01 preparing to launch. Relena stood in Heero?s arms, Zechs and Noin stood together holding Sam?s hands, Duo huddles Hilde while Hilde holds their little boy, Trowa holds his son?s hand and Catherine?s in the other, Quatre holds Dorothy close while she holds her child in her hands. Wufei looks on a little depressed when he spots a woman eyeing him next to where he?s sitting. The Pioneer 01 counts down, ?Five, four, three, two, one, ignition!? The Pioneer launches off into the future? a new generation has been born? and the efforts of Heero and the others? will never be forgotten as time marches on forever?
Well, it was cool, but pretty twisted and too many death as for me...And I don't understand what was that chip that Duo put on Relena's neck... :-? But Heero was soooo in character... So bad that he had to kill his own sister...However, story was very well written
