Chasing High Tides 2/?

Inuyasha followed the young girl of fifteen at a slow pace back toward the well in which she had emerged. Doubt overcame him slightly. Unknowing if he should trust her or not, he swallowed his concern long enough to drop into the well.
?Don?t worry, Inuyasha, it?ll be fun!? she promised him as she followed the dog boy into the well, falling freely, halfway knowing he would catch her. She plomped against his hard chest and felt his warm hands wrap around her just before she stabbed the cold ground with her feet.
Still a bit doubtful of anything from the futuristic world, Inuyasha took a deep breath to calm his nerves, though attempting to hide any signs of fear?or even emotions at all?from Kagome.
Very suddenly, the world around the two began to flash a bright flickering aurora of colors as the portal in time launched. Though he, himself was a bit startled at this sight, it being only the third time he had attempted this feat, he felt a light grasp on his arm from the girl below. He smiled a very small grin that he hid in the shadows of his clothing that he draped over his face. Kagome only stared at him, a cute smile spanned across her face. She was very pleased that Inuyasha agreed to her invitation.
Deep in the bushes, two beady aqua pupils veered from within. They had viewed the entire scene from the beginning to end. Finally, the small fox decided it was safe enough to emerge from his hiding, now that the ?ferocious monster? was no longer around. Curiosity overcame him as he jumped onto the edge of the well and leaned over to peak inside. Nothing.
Confusion bestruck the small fox as he watched the flashing lights expire from within. Seeing the ?evil magic? of the well, he became very terrified and jerked uncontrollably, causing himself to fall into the well by mistake.
The lights consumed the small fox as he, too began to transverse into another world unknown to him.
Kagome was first to remove herself from the sacred well. She pulled her arms onto the railing of the well, giving herself a strong upward thrust with all the upper-body strength she could muster. Throwing one leg over the railing in one swift, clumsy motion, she touched the solid ground above her with one bent knee. She then outstretched her arm for Inuyasha to pull himself up with her help.
Inuyasha only stared in what appeared to be disgust as he, in one quick thrust, leaped from inside the well to the ground outside them. He then picked up Kagome and placed her fully on the ground on her knees, mumbling the words ?don?t do that, I could see your underwear?.
Kagome blushed slightly as she guided Inuyasha into her home to prepare for their vacation.
The small fox demon, only moments later, emerged from the well to gaze around at the shrine. He screamed in horror at all the new things he had never viewed before?lighting, banners, toys, a house where a forest used to be. He continued to scream in fear as he raced to a metal demon-like machine he had never laid eyes on before, though it appeared safe enough. He quickly climbed into the back seat of the family car.
Inuyasha and Kagome took several hours to prepare. Many questions and arguments arose. No one?aside from Kagome?believed that a demon that has never perceived a futuristic world should go on a week-long holiday to the beach.
Kagome insisted, however, on fighting back until she got her way. She promised everyone it was a great idea, even greater than inviting Yumi or Hojou.
Next on the list of priorities was clothing. Naturally Inuyasha only had one outfit to wear, and most certainly not a bathing suit. He was too much elder to Souta and much too tall for Kagome?s grandfather. This struck as a problem. Kagome giggled as she offered for him to wear some of her clothing ?He?s the same size as I am, just a little taller; he can wear my baggy clothes I have yet to grow into!?
This dilemma, of course, brought up much laughter on her mothers part as she pictured in her mind a dog boy in a turquoise tanktop. Finally they settled on allowing Inuyasha to wear the extra clothing Kagome?s father left behind before he passed away.
As the night sky darkened more and more, the small family, now including Inuyasha in Kagome?s father?s deep blue T-shirt and black sweatpants he wore casually, ate their last meal quickly before boarding the car for the four-hour trip to the beach in Hokkaido.
As the family of five boarded the small car?Inuyasha acting quite paranoid about entrusting his life to a metal demon and a family he had only just formally met?Kagome exhaled a very loud shriek as she lay eyes upon the now sleeping fox demon in the middle back seat. Souta jerked around from the middle front seat in fear at why her sister was yelling.
?It?s soo cute!? she yelled, though still quite frightened at the sight of the fox demon.
