Manga Scanlations?

Anybody know where I can get some good manga scanlations? Snoopycool.com has a few series that I'm interested in (Like MAR, <3 Nobuyuki Anzai, and Yakitate!! Japan) but I'm having trouble getting them to download on my computer. T_T;

Anyway, I'm also looking for good recommendations for manga reading. I've gotten into Full Metal Panic! now that ADV is releasing the manga, and I've starting buying all of the released Flame of Recca volumes, and Fruits Basket. Is there anything else, a little less mainstream, that you guys would recommend?

And really, I'm open to anything. I want to get the first volume of Gravitation! T_T

Just.. no hentai. x.x'

Some of the better ones that are out in English:

Kodomo no Omocha (10 volumes, complete) ranks as one of my all-time favorites.

Marmalade Boy (8 volumes, complete) is one of the prototypical shoujo high school dramas that so abound nowadays.

Angelic Layer (5 volumes, complete) may be a fighting drama, but it's so damn cute you'd almost think it was shoujo!

Cardcaptor Sakura (12 volumes, complete) sucked balls on TV as Cardcraptors. The original manga and the uncut TV shows rock very hard, making the travesty of Cardcraptors all the more bitter . . .

And although I have not read it myself, my room mate Laura swears that Mars (15 volumes, complete) is delightful. Generally I trust her judgement.

As for scanlations, do you have access to IRC? There are plenty of manga servers who not only have unliscensed stuff, but liscensed stuff as well.

I have access to IRC, but I'm not very.. educated in using it, lol. I've looked at Mars a couple of times (it almost seemed /too/ shoujo for my tastes, but hey, can't be worse than cuddly zodiac animals) and I've watched the entire subbed series of Angelic Layer at LEAST a billion times. <3 I don't think I've ever seen Kodomo no Omocha on the shelves, though. I'll have to look around for it.

*sigh* I don't have IRC, and I find it hard (2 much info  ). But I do have BT, thus I can download some manga scanlations. And I'm also interested in MAR and Yakitate (luv Yakitate...hmmm...bread...).
Here are some licensed ones:

Naruto
Dragon Knights
Fruit Basket
Hana Yori Dango
X/1999
Slam Dunk/Rebound
Yu Yu Hakusho
Love Hina (if u don't mind some nudity)
Shaman King

...and here are some unlicensed ones:

Gokusen
Full Metal Alchemist (I hope that it gets licensed)
Salad Days
Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne

I would add some more, but I think that is enough. I got lots of shoujo but I wanna list some other stuff.

Hana Yori Dango is high melodrama at its finest ^_^; I'm watching the anime for that, and if the manga is even a fraction as gut-wrenching as the anime, then it's definitely worth reading.

*sighs* Doumyouji . . .

I'm actually on a Shaman King kick at the moment, because the manga is unedited whereas the TV show is not being released in an intact form *sob* Apparently 4kids does not want me to buy their anime, since they didn't released a subtitled version. (I will say nothing about the 13 gig bit torrent going on in the background on my computer . . . nothing to see here *cough*)

Yoh X Anna fics rock my world. There are way too few good ones.

Ah, I like Shaman King. ^_^ I've been following it as much as I can by stealing friend's copies of Shounen Jump, LOL. But I don't think I've ever read any SK fanfiction.. so I'd better go do that sometime soon. Yoh x Anna, even the bits hinted at in the manga, is just too adorable to resist..

I've read a bit of Love Hina and I <3 it, BTW. XD Read the first two or three books of X/1999 and CLAMP's work amazes me again. Naruto, of COURSE. Read as much out of Shounen Jump, and seen the first fifteen episodes of the anime. ^_^; (Of course, I think my friend deleted the eppies I haven't watched. RIGHT in the middle of the fight with Haku and Zobuza.. I think those're their names, anyway.)

I've also been looking at non-japanese Mangaka. Like, there's this Korean one I picked up, Dragon Hunter, that's pretty good. ^_^

But there's also that crap called Shaolin Sisters.. now that's just horrible. @_@;

Ohh, I love Shaman King. ^^ I hate the dub, though. It sucks, in my opinion. It was licensed by 4Kids, who did Pokemon and Yugioh, so what did we expect? LOL. Did you hear, though, that One Piece was also licensed by 4Kids? *cringes*

Okay...hm, manga. Have you read Chobits? 8 volumes, complete. It was cute, IMO. Ooh, what about Hana-kimi? That's another cute shoujo one. Oh, and BTW, if you're looking for Kodomo no Omocha on the shelves, it was released as Kodocha, so that's what you should keep your eye out for. :D

You could try this site.

http://ochitsuki.net/unmei/bwys.php

There are a few series, like Chobits, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, xxxholic, X, and some others, but I don't know about the status of the links, coz I only download Tsubasa RC.

But try it!

i know one place- its called manga project, but i haven't been there in awhile so i'm not sure of the address. but if you type it in a search engine i'm sure you could find it from the list.

scanlations seem to be everywhere, so its pretty easy to find as long as you put a little work into it.

Between these two sites, you can find links to a huge number of scanlated series and scanlation groups.

www.manganews.net/ - Does not list scanlations for series that have been licensed in English.
http://www.dailymanga.org/ - Does list them. French/English site.

I'm also willing to help people find scans of a particular series. (It's a very addictive hobby.) Contact me privately via PM, email, or my livejournal.
