Wildflowers

Uhmm..hello. Well, I've been writing a bunch of (very) short shorts to help inspire me to finally write my first chapter fic...I haven't focused on a story line yet, so I'm hoping these stories would kinda give me ideas. ^^;; Comments and suggestions would very much be appreciated! oh...and if you enjoy these (and I suuuure hope you do!) expect more of things like this in the next month or so. *Sigh* I realize I'm not the best writer ever, and I have a bit of a difficulty in putting my thoughts in writing so stuff I write don't always come out as good as I imagine them...and my grammar must kinda suck too. ^^;
Wildflowers
Heero knew he was dreaming. He was lying in a field of wildflowers that seemed real enough, but he remembered pulling the covers from his bed and drifiting off to sleep. And the atmosphere, as real as it seemed, felt almost vague and ethereal. The sky above him was cloudless and blue, undisturbed except for the occasional flutter of birds. He tasted the scent of wild roses and the crisp aroma of grass in the air around him, and found them peacefully intoxicating. He felt oddly lightweight as the aromatic breeze blew at his hair and ruffled his clothes. A figure suddenly blocked his view of the sun, and he squinted slightly to focus on the person's face.
"Heero!" Relena giggled as she leaned over him, the ends of her blonde hair tickling his cheek. "Silly, I told you not to sleep."
He sat up and stared at her, noting her smiling face and the crown of flowers over her hair. Her light, sleeveless dress clung to her shapely body and accented her womanly curves. "Relena..."
"Silly!" she repeated with a loving smile. She brought a flower-necklace over his head and he stared, bewildered, as it dropped onto his chest. "Look, I finished it while you were asleep. Do you like it?" she asked, her tone of voice like a child looking for approval.
'Well, if I'm dreaming...' Heero gently lowered her to the ground and settled his body almost on top of hers. He brought his face close to hers, savoring the warm flitting of her breath across his cheek. He stared, as if mezmerized, into the endless blue of her eyes, clearer than the cloudless sky above them. His eyes traced the outlines of her face, her turned-up nose, her blushing cheeks, her pink, pink lips. And, suddenly, he realized, "God, you're beautiful."
She looked up at him for a moment, then smiled her gentle, loving smile. She raised a hand to caress his cheek and Heero shivered unwillingly at her touch. "Oh Heero...I love you."
"I love you more." Then, Heero blinked. The words had simply tumbled from his lips. He buried his face in the crook of her neck in a fit of despair, murmuring something against her warm skin.
"Heero, what...?"
"I wish I could so easily say those words to you in real life."
He couldn't see her face, but he knew her eyes must have softened. He felt her fingers run through his chocolate locks, her manicured nails grazing his scalp.
"I was hoping..." she began, her voice cracked and broken, "I was hoping I wasn't dreaming."
And suddenly Heero found himself in his bed, fully awake. He sat up so quickly that his head began to spin, and he had to close his eyes to calm himself. He ran his hand through his hair, his breathing ragged and uneven. Then he lowered his hand to his throat, half-expecting to feel the necklace around his neck. He could still smell the wildflowers. And Relena..he could still feel her skin under his hands. He had confessed his feelings for her so easily! And, so did she. Perhaps...perhaps...
Heero stood and slipped on a jacket and a pair of jeans over his boxers. He was out the door in a minute, intent on finding Relena as her words echoed in his ears.
"...I was hoping I wasn't dreaming..."
