Pirates of the Sanq - Prologue

I have decided that since comedy is my ?thang?, that this must therefore work. Ha HA! Of course Gundam Wing should crossover with Pirates of the Caribbean. Naturally! The only real difficulty was in deciding if I wanted it to be historical or futuristic. Such a difficult choice, I know, but in the end everyone gets much swishy-er clothing in the past. Ah, such a shallow way to decide ? but then this is a parody after all. I?ll be altering some things here and there because of that (I can?t just copy the movie entirely. No fun in that.)
Bad, bad Angel. Starting another project. . . BAD! Finish other fics first!
Disclaimer: I don?t own Gundam Wing nor anything resembling it, and it goes double for Pirates of the Caribbean which I?m pretty sure Disney has a monopoly on (like many other things).
Prologue
Heero felt the swell and fall of the ocean on the periphery of his consciousness. The smell of salt water and thick smoke nearly suffocated him, but he couldn?t even summon the strength to lift one wiry arm up to cover his nose. At least it was no longer the stink of blood that assailed his senses, unless you counted his own. Minor cuts on his body stung as the salt bit at them and they made him wonder if, despite his wet condition, he were on fire as well. Flashes of memory forced themselves upon him as the screams that he had only recently escaped seem to echo again, followed by familiar rough masculine shouts. But why was there only one woman screaming? There had been at least five of them on the merchant vessel, two fine ladies and their servants. One of them had given him some hard candy just yesterday, even if her nose was forever scrunched up at the smell he emanated of the sea and hard work.
Eyes caked with grime attempted to open as he was lifted from his scrap of wood onto the solid deck of a ship. The single feminine voice was arguing with a deep masculine one, and the shouts had become grumbles from the other men. Hands clutched at him, at his amulet, and finally he summoned up enough energy to surge forward with a gasp. Through his pained and hazy semi-conscious mind he knew that the amulet was important and they must not take it. He grabbed the clutching hand, soft and small in his own, almost seeming to rise from a deathly sleep. He encountered two extremely shocked blue eyes as his own flew open.
With urgency he asked the vision of pink before him the only thing he could think to ask.
?Where am I?? Licking cracked lips, the words were a demanding whisper.
?You are safe. Nothing bad can happen to you now.? The young female voice was confident and reassuring. The constricted feeling on his heart lessened. Exhaustion was attempting to clutch at his dearly bought conscious state. ?Who are you??
?Heero. Heero Yuy.? The response was more automatic than thought out. It was no proper introduction, but then again his life had never been proper in any substantial sense.
?Well, Mr. Yuy, I am Relena Peacecraft. I will take care of you from now on, I promise.? The blurred figure swept a soft hand over his cheek and Heero finally gave into the irresistible pull of dreamless sleep. The fact that it was dreamless was the only blessing that the day had to offer him.
The girl looked at the amulet, wondering at its foreignness as well as the way the gold of it shone dully in the foggy whiteness that typified the day. Relena was neither a covetous person nor a dishonest person, but the amulet smacked of piracy to her young and imaginative mind. What if he was a pirate? He would be hanged like every other pirate and her heart would surely break, for had she not promised to take care of him? It was her duty to protect this boy and if it meant stealing then this once she would compromise herself. Only for Heero.
The amulet was heavy in her hands, and smooth, and now that she looked at it with a more critical eye she noted the skull that graced its surface with some shock. There was no doubt in her mind now that this boy was either a pirate or knew pirates and her conviction to protect him became that much stronger.
?Relena!? Pausing in her shock, Relena turned while making sure to hide the amulet behind her back.
?Yes, brother??
?How is the boy? He appears to be the only survivor.? Her brother, immaculately dressed with his hair carefully tied back looked concerned. More likely he was concerned about pirates in general than the boy in specific. He always was more inclined to look at the bigger picture, but then that?s why he had been assigned to be the governor of the small Sanq island chain by His Majesty.
?The boy lives. I shall need some water and a rag and I shall attend to his wounds.? Her brother smiled oddly at her kind words, unsure as to the propriety of such a task.
?Please?? Her smile was tentative as her hand tightened around the amulet and her fingers searched its surface.
?I?m far too indulgent with you. Very well, I leave the boy in your care.? With formal permission granted, her face broke into a wide smile, eyes softening with love for her older sibling. Milliardo turned away to talk to the captain of the ship.
?I?ll be right back. . . Heero.? Relena put the amulet on, dropping it down the front of her dress and shivering at the cold touch of metal against her stomach. There had to be medical supplied around the ship somewhere.

Don't expect another chapter for a while. And I mean a long while. (Accursed school!) Oh yeah, and I will be posting in the featured author section from now on. (Does a happy jig at being honored with a forum of her own.)
