The Ninja's Obsessions

Being the type of person I am I find this difficult to admit but.....

I am absolutely obsessed with shojo manga. Not just kinda shojo manga but the REALLY shojo manga, ie Mars, Maramalade Boy and Peach Girl. My question is why? Why? Why? Why? In anime form I find it difficult to digest, but in manga form I eat it up!! I just spent at least 2 hours today reading Mars in Barnes and Noble, I then bought 4 and if I wasn't going to see the Matrix here in a bit I would drive back to B & N and go finish reading all the rest that is out. I'm also dying for the next Peach Girl to come out. But if you look at my top five anime (FLCL, Kenshin, Rahxephon, Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun) there ain't a shojo one among the bunch.

So really does anyone else understand this? Anyone else amazingly obsessed with Peach Girl and Mars? Anyone know proven methods to get me to STOP spending all of my hard earned cash on girly comic books??

I understand u very well, RN. I 2 got hooked on Mars, so I collected it all. As for Peach Girl, I used to like it but now I don't. Lost interest, I guess. But to answer ur q about not spending, I really can't say. I spend my hard-earned money on books and manga and anime (though not that much on anime anymore). I got 2 many manga series that I like. In point of fact, many publishers r getting a lot of manga licensed so I can't help but continue buying. Now that Mars is over, I got Wild Act to continue. And when that is done, then I got Kaikan Phrase to fall over. It is a never-ending cycle, my friend. I say, survive it. It'll never stop. Once ur hooked, u can't get out.
BTW, sorry for not being of any help. Just wanted to comment about this. :)

My only method to stop spending has been to read them at the B&N but whenever I do that I always ending up buying a whole stack of them anyway *sigh* it's a losing battle.

it's a losing battle.
I totally agree. If I were u, I'll gracefully give in and go w/ the flow.

I just picked up the RahXephon manga, and I'm intrigued by its story line... I'm wondering how the anime is? I've heard really good things about it. Worth the money to buy?

Ooohhh...shojo manga...I'm a sucker for certain ones, although not always...most of the time I go for Hana to Yume titles, like Fruits Basket or HanaKimi. I also like um...Kaikan Phrase and Akuma no Eros.

And Sailor Moon. She was waaaaay cooler in the manga.

The problem is that I can't read them, since they're in japanese and I can't read japanese. I know I should buy english translated ones, but they cost more than half than non-translated manga. :(

Hot Gimmick.....great girly manga! I'm hooked. I like it more than Peach Girl and that's saying something.

Rahxephon anime rocks btw.
