Waiting (Poem)

Post by Morrighan »

Hmm... I should have posted this sooner, but I never got around to doing it.... Well anyways, I hope this doesn't disappoint!

Waiting

Flickering lights
A darkened room
Booming music
Spills from the speakers
Amidst the sea of writhing bodies
I dance along with the beat
In perfect harmony

Yet I am waiting
Waiting for you

You stand at one end of the circle
Gently swaying to the beat
My eyes constantly stray in your direction
Needing to be reassured you?re there

A new song comes on
My attention diverted
I?m consumed again
By the lull of passionate self-expression

When I return my gaze
You have disappeared
My heart plummets

I know why

She is here
?I always know you?re about to say something very sweet or very stupid when you use my full name??

Why yes, I am a saucy wench. :-P

WOW. Yet again you have managed to take me, the goddess of wisdom, by surprise. Very tricky!

I love this one. It's very...mysterious. I'm so jealous that you can write poems so well!
"The point is, you see," said Ford, "that there is no point in driving yourself mad to stop yourself going mad. You might just as well give in and save your sanity for later."

We'll meet beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
And never again I'll go sailing - Beyond the Sea

Boy, have I been there. You can't stop sneaking glances and you want nothing more then for them to see you, not the friend or even the aquaintence, but the you that cares... Of course then their girlfriend or, even worse, the object of their desires arrives and that puts them in the same boat as you. Argh! It's such a depressing and vicious cycle.

I am SO glad that I am love free at the moment. Loevely little heart-wrenching poem. Very true and real. Excellent!
Do not measure life by the number of breaths you take but rather by the moments that take your breath away.

Some things belong on paper, others in life. It's a blessed fool who can't tell the difference. - Madeleine "Quills"

This was very good...one of your better ones that I've read so far. Very dark and full of emotion. I can relate to it....errr...except the part about checking out the guy....but other then that, yeah.
