Chapter 6
//A great deal of time has passed since the resurrection of Treize, the recreation of mobile suits, the Gundams, and Wufei?s discovery. Relena gave birth to a healthy boy and the ex-pilots are even more protective of her than before. But they are not prepared for what awaits them?and neither is Isera prepared for what awaits her?//
?We have two million soldiers and half a million mobile suits, Alfonso. The enemy has managed to get a hold on their respective Gundams, but have not recruited any soldiers. Their force is small, but they are still strong as ever. They?ll have no choice but to surrender when you make your broadcast, Alfonso. We no longer need that witch.?
Alfonso stood in the control tower on the rebuilt Lake Victoria Base. He looked out onto the runways and watched as his soldiers worked as if there was no tomorrow. He would soon take out the colonies and then rule the world.
?I still need Isera. Relena?s still alive, and the Preventer?s are not going down easy.? Alfonso turned towards Devon, his new right hand man, one he was able to recruit without a problem. ?Once they are out of the way, Isera can be disposed of. We won?t have any need for her. I know our reign will last. I?ll make sure she empowers us to carry on a time that will forever last. Call her up here.?
Devon didn?t think twice about Alfonso?s orders. He turned to tell a ?New Reign? officer to call up Isera, when he noticed her standing by the main door. He hardened his stare, and looked her over from head to toe. She wore the ?New Reign? uniform and felt that it didn?t suit her. But being what she is and how useful she was at the moment, it took all of his will power not to go and rip if off of her.
?I don?t understand why you dislike me so much, Devon.? She walked slowly towards him, enjoying the way he tensed at her every step.
?Alfonso wants to give you you?re new orders.? Isera stopped right in front of Devon. She stared into his cold blue eyes and nearly shivered at what she could feel from them. She turned to her superior and waited.
?I want you to go and get rid of Relena. Let that be a message to them, Isera. If they don?t take heed to her death, then continue to kill everyone that?s dear to them.? He turned to face the orange-eyed beauty. ?And do it in front of them.?
Isera nodded before looking back to Devon. She leaned in close, and spoke to him, purposely brushing her lips against his, ?And when I?m done with them Devon?? she ran her tongue lightly between his lips, ??I?m coming for your soul.? Isera began to fade away as she turned to leave.
Alfonso smiled at Devon as he spat where Isera once stood and wiped his lips. ?Don?t let her get to you, Devon. Just don?t get in her way until it?s time.?
Sanq Kingdom
Relena stood at her bedroom windows, staring out into the growing darkness as she held her son. She looked down and realized that all she?s worked for was slowly slipping from her grasp. If the world was to be at war again, then so be it.
?I?ll choose not to take part in any of it anymore. Life is too valuable to just throw it away.? She smiled lovingly at her son. ?I?ve always had something to protect. But can I say you are even more fragile than peace??
Her son only answered in sighs and coos. ?You?re all I?m worrying about now, Dylan.?
?I think that you should be more worried of your welfare than Dylan?s, Relena.? Relena?s head snapped up towards the voice, only to find that no one was there. She looked to her left; no one. Se looked to her right; no one. She held her son close in fear. ?Who?s there?? Relena began to back up towards the window she was just staring out of.
?Behind you,? the voice answered.
Relena quickly spun around to find that she was staring in the face of a woman dressed in the ?New Reign?s? uniform. But before she could get a word out, the woman reached out and took hold of Relena?s neck. Relena gasped.
?Shhhh,? Isera whispered softly. ??and hold on to your dear son, before you drop him.? Relena?s grip tightened on her son and Isera?s grip tightened on her neck.
?What do you want,? Relena whispered.
Isera smiled as she began to move forward, causing Relena to move backwards. In Relena?s eyes, Isera never knew she?d see fear. But it wasn?t fear for her own life; it was fear for the life of her son. ?If I killed you now, it wouldn?t matter much would it, Relena?? Relena?s eyes remained on Isera as Isera began to slowly turn to her right.
?What do I want? Interesting...? Isera managed to get Relena?s back turned towards the balcony. ?I never thought you?d ask.? The doors swung open as Isera slowly guided Relena onto her balcony. The cold winds picked up indicating that it would begin to storm in the worst way possible. Relena shivered as the wind blew past her. For some reason, it felt unnatural to her.
Isera smiled once again. ?I want?your demise, Relena.? Relena wanted to say go ahead, but to spare the life of her son, but she was interrupted. Isera squeezed her neck a little harder out of pleasure, ?I want your slow and burning demise Relena. Can you give that to me?? Isera?s gaze slowly went form Relena?s eyes down to what she held in her hands. Relena could only gasp and hold her son tighter.
?Please?? she whispered, ??don?t hurt my son.? Isera flicked her eyes upward before giving Relena a mocking expression. She pulled Relena close, and with her other hand, ripped her son from her grasp and pushed Relena backwards, causing her to hit the railing.
The Kitchen
Duo leaned against the kitchen door frame while Heero leaned against the counter by the stove. Zechs sat on a stool close to the kitchen island and Wufei sat across from him. The turn of events took them all by surprise. They may know who?s leading the uprising, but they can?t figure out who?s supplying them and how they managed to manufacture so many mobile suits in such a small amount of time.
?What are we dealing with,? was Heero?s question.
Wufei crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes on the counter top. ?Edward said it was a ?she?, but I still can?t see how a woman, or anyone else for that matter, could be responsible for the Mar?s Explosion and the reconstruction of the Gundams.?
?Then our best bet would be to get back in touch with Edward for more information,? Duo responded.
Zechs sighed and leaned forward, resting his chin in his hands, ?Even if we were to get in touch with Edward and get the information we needed, we still wouldn?t be able to stop them without causing any damage.?
?Treize is alive, along with a few familiar faces that were killed in the past couple of wars. That?s why I asked?what are we dealing with?? Heero looked across the way towards Wufei. He knew for certain that Treize died in the first war. Wufei mentioned it to him once and Lady Une?he?s caught her whisper the man?s name a few times. Things were just too out of the ordinary for a logical explanation. But then again with what was going on, what was considered logical? What was ordinary?
Heero pushed off the wall to go head up to Relena and his son. ?You need to be more careful now that you have a son, Heero. If the enemy were to find out about it, there will be problems,? Zechs said as he watched Heero?s retreating back.
?I know,? was what they heard as he ascended the steps. But Heero?s words weren?t the last thing they heard.
Preventer?s HQ
?You?re still not making any sense to me.? Lady Une sat behind her desk, not knowing if she were asleep or awake. Opposite her sat Quatre, Trowa, and Treize.
Treize?
As if sensing her calling his name, he spoke up, ?Anne, I know it may seem hard for you to follow, or to even understand what?s going. But to start, I suggest you at least start to try and believe what you see before you. I am as real as Marie?? He watched her expression go wide as he continued, ??as real as Relena?s baby, and as real as the love you still hold for me in your heart.?
Before Lady Une could comment on his words, Trowa spoke up, ?We need to find a way to stop a war from happening and we need to do it fast.?
?Yes, I do agree Trowa, but it?s not going to be that easy.? Quatre turned to his friend with sorrowful eyes. ?Isera isn?t your averaged woman.? Treize looked to Quatre with warning in his eyes.
Lady Une gave Quatre her undivided attention. ?Does this woman have anything to do with what?s going on??
Quatre nodded, ?She?s has to do with everything that?s going on-"
Treize interrupted, ?Though she may be the cause Quatre, she?s not fully responsible.? He turned back to Lady Une, ?We weren?t supposed to say anything because it would threaten the welfare of Quatre?s sisters as well as the colonies of outer space.?
?But what do the colonies have to do with Reenactment,? Lady Une questioned.
?Unless ?Reenactment? is just a cover-up for something else,? Trowa mentioned.
?It is,? was the reply of a new voice. All heads turned to see Senator Hues standing in the doorway of Lady Une?s office. Senator Hues walked in and closed the door with a sad expression on his face.
?Please, don?t get up. Call me by my first name from hear on in. It?s Ulysses, and I was never Senator.?

Peerhaps I do have a little explaining as far as what has happened in the time alotted in the story, but that will come along soon. A long time awaited for such a short chapter. Can I say...cliffhanger?
