Hi all...my name is Keiki Elfchild and this username and my writing of fics are inspired by my friend Naoko, who unfortunately gave up on fanfiction a long time ago. *sniffles*
This IS where i put my fic for the challenge right? I'm sorry...I'm real new here...

It wasn?t as if it has never crossed his mind. Heero had always thought about spending his whole life with Relena at his side. Well, not exactly thought as much as dreamt. But that was pretty much the same thing, wasn?t it? Oh...alright! He was afraid. Afraid of commitment. Afraid of hurting her. So many things could go wrong.
Laying spread-eagled in the grass, Heero chuckled.
Those words were not supposed exist in his vocabulary. He?s lived his whole life on taking risks, after all. He almost couldn?t understand why everything that had anything to do with a certain blonde would be any different. But then again...he could.
Closing his eyes from the reeling, whirlwind of emotion her very name brought, he emptied his mind of all thoughts. He basked in the emptiness and the feeling of weightlessness that came with being only half-conscious, and simply breathed. Unwillingly, his supposedly emptied mind conjured up images that almost seemed like quick flashes of light, or echoing, inarticulate noises. People...crowds of people. His friends. Duo and Hilde. Lucrezia and Zechs. Trowa and Cathy. Quatre and Dorothy. Wufei and Sally. Total, complete strangers. Children. Indistinct faces from long ago. Voices. Laughter. Endless stars. The view of earth from outer space. Empty, consuming darkness. Relena...
Suddenly Heero had never felt so lonely in his life.

?Heero...what..??
Relena forgot all about reprimanding him about not knocking before entering her office when he grabbed her about the shoulders and kissed her senseless.
He smiled at her widened eyes and her shocked expression, his hand caressing her jaw. ?I love you,? he whispered tenderly. Then, before Relena could say a word, he was gone.
Relena struggled to slow her racing heart and regain a normal breathing pattern as she watched her door swing close. She giggled slightly as her hand rose to her swollen lips. It wasn?t as if they?ve never kissed before- really, they?ve kissed billions of times- but the feeling of his mouth on hers, and his warm breath brushing across her cheek...
Relena felt her face redden.
That wasn?t the first time he?d confessed his love to her, either. They?ve been together for a while now, ever since Dekim?s exasperating coup d?etat. So that would make it- what?- five years? five and a half? In that span of time they?ve grown closer than anyone ever thought possible. His very name brought fluttering butterflies to her stomach.
Relena found herself wondering what in the heavens that was all about, then shrugged it off. He did spontaneous things all the time, and they always ended up having a whole, big meaning behind it all. Smiling to herself, she went back to her paperwork.

Duo boisterously awoke from his afternoon nap to the ringing of his video phone, his hair disheveled and his voice croaky.
?What?? he groaned.
?Duo...?
With sleep blinked instantly away, Duo enthusiastically said, ?Heeyy buddy boy Heero! How ya doin?, home dawg?!?
?Home...dog? I won?t even ask,? Heero said, shaking his head. ?I need your help,? he said gravely.
?Shoot.?
?I...I need you to help me pick out a ring for Relena.?
Duo?s violet eyes widened and he let out an incredibly loud whoop. ?Yeeeaah! About time, man, I thought you?d never get around to asking her to marry you after we all planned that whole big thing to open up an opportunity for you at Hilde?s and my wedding last month and...?
Heero?s eyes narrowed. ?You what??
Duo stopped babbling and gulped. ?Uhm...I...uh...?
?Never mind. But not a word to Relena. That goes for you too, Hilde Schbeicker,? Heero added, looking at something over Duo?s shoulder.
Hilde guiltily stepped out from behind the curtains and said, cheerfully, ?I wasn?t going to anyway.? She grinned and clasped her hands together. ?Ohh I can?t wait,? she gushed. ?We?ll plan it all, and trust me Heero, it?ll be great!?
Heero smiled slightly and murmured, ?Thanks. A lot.?
?That?s what friends are for!? Duo and Hilde sang back to him.

?Oh Heero!? Relena sighed, obviously deeply moved.
She was dragged out of her own home and brought to the park, where a checkered blanket and a big picnic basket awaited her beneath a leafy oak. Making sure she was all settled in, Heero poured them both a glass of champagne from a tall bottle he pulled from the basket. Several minutes and a couple of fancy sandwiches later, Heero solemnly put down his glass and pulled Relena?s from her hand.
?Relena,? he said quietly, ?you know that I will always love you.?
?I do,? she answered patiently.
Heero?s eyes widened. ?What??
?What?? Relena echoed, equally confused.
Heero shook his head and took her hands in his. ?We?ve been through so much together, and I wouldn?t trade in any of that for the world. You mean more to me than anyone else in the universe. And...I want to spend the rest of my life with you.? He reached out a hand to fish a small black box out of his pocket. Opening it, he choked out, ?Relena Peacecraft-Dorlian...will you marry me??
Relena gasped, and her hands rose to obscure her trembling red lips. Tears glistened in her blue eyes and streamed down her ivory face. ?Oh Heero..yes! I?ve been waiting for you to say those words to me in so long!?
Heero slipped the ring onto her finger, and gathered her up in his arms, claiming her lips heatedly in his.
?Yee-haw!? a familiar voice roared from behind a bush. Heero and Relena jumped apart as Duo and Hilde hopped exuberantly into view, the former sporting a video camera in his hand. ?Let?s see that smooch again. C?mon, pucker up...?
Trowa jumped from out of the tree they were under, his one eye behind another video camera. Quatre appeared almost out of nowhere, in his hand another one of the digital vid cams. The whole gang came laughing out and onto the checkered picnic blanket, slapping Heero on the back and giving hugs to the new bride-to-be. Milliardo, however, was scowling and warned, ?You hurt my little sister, Yuy, and you?ll wish you were never born.?
?Thanks, Zechs.?
?How long have you all been watching?? Relena asked, still sniffling.
?We saw the whooole thing,? Catherine giggled.
?We now have your entire proposal on tape, Heero? Lucrezia laughed.
?In three camera angles, no less,? Wufei harrumphed. ?Only a woman would think of such a thing.?
?You?re just jealous, Wufei,? Sally snapped good-naturedly.
Heero drowned out the others? voices and gazed at his fiancee with loving eyes. ?I love you.?
Relena smiled. ?I love you, too, Heero Yuy.?
?Well,? Duo said, the camera still rolling, ?now you need us to help you pick out a wedding ring, eh Heero??
