[Fic] First Meeting

My second Hellsing thing. I know that there's a littel flashback scene in Episode 7 that raises a few questions about Alexander Anderson and Alucard's past. This was my take on that little flashback. Enjoy!

(Hellsing isn?t mine. This is my idea on what Anderson?s little flashback thingie from episode 7 is all about. It takes place right after episode 7.)
Celas stared at the wall blankly, waiting to awaken fully as evening set in. She had rested but something had troubled her dreams. All she could think about was the last encounter with Alexander Anderson in The Tube and it had even haunted her dreams. She had even thought back to her first encounter with the insane priest and realized the two men were fighting on a personal level.
It was one thing to fight someone as an assignment but they fought as if they had known one another for a long time. She pondered this for so long, she became lost in her thoughts and jumped when Walter opened the door to her room. Walter maintained his calm composure as he set down Victoria?s meal for the evening. ? I am sorry for startling you, Miss Victoria, ? He said as he bowed.
? It?s alright, Walter. ?
Walter glanced at the young vampire, ? Is there something troubling you? ?
Victoria bit her lip and decided to speak. If anyone would know if Alucard and Anderson had crossed paths before, Walter would. ? Walter, can I ask you something? ?
? Certainly, Miss Victoria. ?
Celas struggled for the right way to start her question. ? Um? has Alucard fought with Father Anderson before? I mean before the other night and the first time I ever saw him? ?
Walter cleared his throat, ? Yes. They have quite a history from what I understand. ?
Victoria blinked, ? A history? ?
Walter nodded, ? From what I understand, they met during World War Two. ?
Victoria nearly fell in the floor, ? They?ve been fighting for THAT long? ?
Walter nodded again, ? Yes. I have heard many stories so most of what I can tell you may or may not be the complete truth. ?
? How did they meet? ? Victoria stood to her feet. ? I mean, how have you heard that they met? ?
Walter pulled the chair away from the table and motioned for Celas to sit down. Celas did so and waited for Walter to speak. Finally, he sighed. ? I believe it was in the streets of Sussex but I could be wrong. ?
? How did Mr. Anderson end up there? Hasn?t he always been a priest? ? Celas asked as she reached for the pouch of blood in the ice bucket. She took it out and carefully opened it.
Walter shook his head, ? No. He was a soldier first. He was fighting for England to keep the Nazi from invading. As the story goes, he thought he had seen one of them dash down a dark alley so he followed. What he saw then scared him witless. ?
Celas took a sip of her dinner then asked, ? Was it my master? ?
? Yes and he was feeding. Before that, Anderson has supposedly been either an atheist or an agnostic but I can?t recall which. He didn?t believe in ghosts, vampires or even God for that matter so you can imagine his surprise to see a real vampire, ? Walter pushed up his glasses.
Celas nodded, ? I can imagine. When I realized what my master was, I was pretty shaken as well? well, as shaken as one can be with a gaping hole in their chest, ? Celas let out a strained chuckle.
Walter gave a tiny grin before returning to his stoic composure. ? Anderson did not want to believe what he was seeing so he shot a few rounds off into Alucard. Of course, this made your master very angry and he attacked. Needless to say, Anderson was no match for Alucard at that time and he lost. ?
? But he always seems to lose, ? Celas pointed out.
? Yes? yes, he does. He still is not a match but he is getting better all the time. He may be a match for Alucard in another forty-five or fifty years but that is still a long way to go. However, Alucard beat him quite easily that first time and Anderson took it rather hard, ? Walter straightened his monocle.
? How hard? ? Celas asked quietly.
? From what I understand, Anderson tried to shoot himself but the thought of everything he had every doubted probably being true made him lose his mind before he could pull the trigger. It was said his squad found him wandering the streets of Sussex the next morning and, after being evaluated by a military doctor, he was committed to a sanitarium. The Hellsing Organization was alerted to his encounter shortly thereafter and asked to look into it. At the same time, The Iscariot Division of The Vatican was alerted but no one informed Sir Hellsing of that. ?
Celas? eyes grew wide, ? But why? ?
? We are the only two organizations that deal with the supernatural. Our organization was still planning to go to Sussex to investigate while the Iscariots were on their way to the sanitarium. By the time someone from Hellsing arrived at the sanitarium, The Iscariots had worked their magic and were well on their way back to Rome with Anderson. No one knows what happened then but it was when Anderson was made into a regenerator, ? Walter bowed.
? Are you leaving so soon? I have so many questions? ? Celas moved to stand up. ? Please tell me how? ?
Walter shook his head, ? No one knows for sure how they went about it. The Iscariots do all kinds of experiments so it must have been something they were working on for a very long time. I believe I don?t know any more, Miss Victoria. ?
Celas slumped back down into her chair, ? Oh. ?
Walter walked to the door and opened it. He didn?t glance back as he said; ? You could always ask Alucard about it. He knows more than I do. ?
Celas nodded, ? I suppose I could? ?
Walter slipped out quietly, shutting the door behind him as Celas pondered just where she would find the courage to ask Alucard for the answers to the questions she still had.
