bride and beast:chap 3

A/N: How in the world did everyone figure out the Dragon was Heero? You guys r so clever. Anyways here's what happens next...enjoy. plz forgive any mistakes...i rushed thru this one.
Disclaimer: do ppl even read these? i don't own squat...so there.
Chapter 3
?Bloody savages? he cursed them in a mere whisper of words. The Dragon stared in disbelief at the latest ?offering? from the villagers. ?What are they thinking?? He was stirred from his thoughts by the chuckles from his companion. He turned to see the outline of his only friend holding his sides in pain as he broke into hysterical laughter. His violet eyes were tearing up at the shocked face of the Dragon.
?I knew you had a reputation for making the ladies swoon? he said in between laughter, ?but this is ridiculous.?
?Hn? was the only response.
?Well what are you thinking?? he said as he played absent-mindedly with his long braid.
?What in holy hell processed them to bring me a girl?? he asked. ?All I wanted was a nice jug of aged whiskey to warm my bones.?
?No doubt she would warm them? his friend chuckled.
?Shut up Duo, and help me untie her.?
He cursed them again when he felt the icy coldness of her skin and saw the raw rope burns of her pale flesh. In no time at all they had released the bonded girl. The piece of fabric she was wearing, which was close to nothing at all, had been soaked through and left nothing to the imagination. He didn?t like the fact that he was so tempted to look her up and down; instead he concentrated on her face. And what a lovely face it was. Noticing the appreciative look in Duo?s eyes he quickly removed his cloak and covered her small body.
?Are you sure that?s wise? What if she should see your face? Duo questioned.
?Well what else can I do? Do you want me to leave her out here and bury her corpse in the morning?? came the reply.
Left with no choice, the Dragon scooped up her shivering form into his embrace and gently carried her into his lair. He left her in the north tower of the castle. He tenderly laid her down on the massive bed and started to peel away the sheer dress, his eyes never once looked away from her face. He found himself staring longingly at her, his finger traced along her features and rested on her luscious lips. He felt so drawn to them, oh to just have a simple taste of them would quench his desires. Unintentionally his body bent towards her and he felt the even breaths she emitted from her parted lips. He cursed his weakness and sighed deeply as he pulled away. It had been so long since he felt the warm embrace of a woman, he sneered at the fact that he would ravage the first unconscious female that lay at his doorstep. He quickly sauntered out of the room before his desires got the best of him.
Warmth and softness was what Relena awoke to. She never dreamed that the Dragon?s belly would be this cozy. Without ever opening her eyes she stretched and rolled to her side. ?Perhaps this is heaven? she wistfully thought. She stiffened at the idea, she never truly believed in the existence of a heaven and hell, but then again she never believed in dragons until now.
She quickly sat up and took in the setting around her. She drew a breath in astonishment to what had beheld her eyes. Pools of shimmering midnight blue silk surrounded her body. There were glowing candles that surrounded the bed; that gave of a faint scent of sandalwood and spice. ?Surely this was a heaven more luxurious than even Reverend Winner could ever imagine?. The dim light from the candles drew her eyes to the ceiling above her. There were faded, but still beautiful murals, on the walls, scenes from Greek mythology. There was lone Psyche in a bed of flowers as her love Cupid hid in the shadows forever hidden from her curious eyes. There were scenes with Persephone forsaking spring to surrender her heart to the dark lord, Adriadne guiding her lover from the treacherous labyrinth.
So intent was Relena in studying the beautiful images that she did not notice the silk sheet that covered her slip off her body. Only when she heard the distinct sharp intake of breath was she brought out of her deep thoughts. Quickly glancing down, her skin tingled in shock as she realized that she was just naked as the figures in the mural above her. She snatched the sheets up to her chin, and slowly lifted her head.
The incandescent lights from the candles only shone on the bed, giving it the appearance of a sacrificial alter. The corners of the chamber were cast in complete darkness. Her eyes desperately searched for signs of movement. She now wished she had paid more attention to Reverend Winner?s sermons about the evils of hell. Perhaps this wasn?t heaven, but a place for torment disguised as dark pleasure in the fiery pits of hell. She put the thought out of her mind and concentrated in thinking logically. Tossing her hair aside she boldly called out,
?Only the worst sort of coward would spy on a women from the darkness, I dare you to show yourself.?
She heard muffled sound of heel against ground, and immediately regretted her daring challenge.
A/N: short and sweet...don't u just luv being in suspense. don't worry Relena will meet the "Dragon" in the next chapter. i'll post it as sooooon as possible, promise.
