Proposal challenge. 1xR

Its a fic which is a 'what if' in this case it is 'what if' Relena and Heero were actually normal like me and you. Her life would be very different. But this is just one of those takes on it. Probably OOC for H more than R. but here goes and yes it is happy.
A Modest Proposal
Relena daydreamed on her battered old couch as she nursed a glass of fresh orange. She was after all thirty five and felt it in her ?old? bones the need to relax now and then. It was artificially spring on colony L7898 the trees were in blossom and her garden was scattered with pinks and whites here and there. Stretching her legs out onto the rest of the couch she sighed heavily starring across from her were her fondest of memories from when she was younger. Pictures in homemade frames with happy faces smiled back at her. She got up to take a closer look at them but of course she had them memorised down to perfect detail.
Her graduation from university took pride of the place in the centre. This was what Relena had always wanted, something normal. Education just came naturally after the Gundams had been destroyed she didn?t want the power and decided to leave the lime light. She changed her image and her name, her hair no more the dirty blond instead a constant shade of brown rested just above her shoulders, and instead of her blue eyes she had opted for green contacts. However, due to the frequency of wearing them her eyes became accustomed to the con-curve shape of the discs. She became dependant on glasses from then on. But she didn?t mind they made her feel special. Deep down she always knew she was a big geek, now Lorraine Green wasn?t afraid to show it. Lorri Green wasn?t afraid of anything, she went were she pleased and didn?t come home until really late.
Throughout university she experienced many new sensations had many lovers but none really worth remembering and graduated with honours. You may wonder what degree, Politics maybe? Don?t be silly Relena loved the arts, particularly photography. During her work experience in London Duo and Hilde got married. This picture was a very special one because she had taken it. The young couple giggling like school kids as they walked through the crowd while get bombarded with confetti. Yet how strange Relena would to think? They were only twenty and were deciding to spend the rest of their lives together. Relena loved her young and single life instead of moping around pining over someone, she was the heartbreaker. And for some odd reason it was fun. But she was just a person with an opinion and was open minded to others if they were happy then so be it. She was experiencing new sensations and she just couldn?t let them drop. Freedom was her drug and she could have as much or as little without being told what to do. Journalists couldn?t find her and thanks to the trust in her friends neither would the rest of the world.
The ironic part of her life was that she now worked for the colony newspaper as head photographer, she was Lorri Green the ruthless shooter. She mingled along undetected and this is where she had decided to reside on a quiet little colony.
The next was at the birth of her first nephew. She looked at Noin and her brother?s proud faces as they cuddled Christian. He was absolutely adorable and yet at the time Relena was overjoyed to be an auntie but it never did anything for her. As in she never wanted one of her own. Then again she was only twenty two it was thirteen years later and Relena felt lonely in the empty sense. She hadn?t regretted anything that she had done but tugging on her heart strings was her biological clock. For so long she had pushed it down but recently the alarm has been going off. Oh no! she thought what if she ends up as the old spinster who has twenty five cats and the kids in the street are scared to walk past her house. She was halfway there she did have one cat, Ethan. She looked at him, he was asleep on the window ledge. What if she died alone. Well she wouldn?t die alone she still had friends old and new ones. But she didn?t really need a man to have a baby. That was always a good sign. And besides she didn?t look, feel or act thirty five. She could think about this when she was forty. Relena smiled to herself for being so silly, turning to the next picture. There was Quatre and Dorothy the baby machine, it was Ami?s fifth birthday. Quatre?s mansion was a total playground she was sure she had never seen anything so magnificent for one person. Every room was filled with balloons and that?s a lot of balloons. She laughed aloud at the thought of that day. Heero as per usual was standing quietly in the corner, not really doing anything. Probably on the look out for would be assassins. What a dork? Heero? She wondered what had happened to him. Was he still on his mad trip to never speak and be alone for the rest of his life? She did hope he had grown out of that stage. Maybe it was just puberty. He was drop dead gorgeous, eyes that could make any girl melt and render them helpless. He was the type of man to make her glad she was a woman. To think of the things she used to do when chasing him, they seemed normal at the time, now she felt a bit silly. That?s just the way life was, she had changed and so had he. But she just assumed it was for the best.
A knock at her door stopped her halfway putting her battered old trainers on. She opened the door.
?Relena??
?I?m sorry, I think you?ve got the wrong house.? Even though she knew he hadn?t.
?Ok Lorri then.? He smirked at her. Still as handsome as ever, even with the grey flecks starting to appear in his hair. Catching her breath she quickly composed herself from the instant shock.
?What do you want?? she said leaning against the door frame.
?Its time for you to grow up.? He pushed past her and made his way to the living room.
?Excuse me but what do you think I?m doing? I?ve got a house a mortgage and a cat for God sake! I cook myself and yes you may come in.? She was annoyed yet excited.
?Come on Lena. You don?t have me.?
?Look, we had a fling ages ago. I was young I lost my virginity to you and that?s all I ever want to give you? anyway I thought you had to travel the colonies being alone and searching for something like your humanity.?
?And I did, listen more than two words per utterance. I?ve grown up and put the past behind me and now its time for you.?
?Wait a minute, I am grown up I don?t party all night every night like I used to and I don?t do all the mad shit I used to either.?
?Come on Relena why are you denying yourself this opportunity. Look at me and tell me you haven?t still got a torch burning for me?? Relena remained silent. ?Well??
?Fine, yes I do still have a crush on you. Why are you smiling you come here every year and every year you ask me to marry you??
?So marry me.?
?You come here just to ask me something you know the answer to. You don?t know me anymore and furthermore it would be absolutely ridiculous for two people to just get married. What would the neighbours think??
?See you haven?t changed that much. Still as conservative as ever and I still love that about you.?
?Urgh! We aren?t getting anywhere here?
?That?s because you are being stubborn. Come on Relena we are the last pair not to get married or have ten dozen children. What have you got to lose? You may not have that long left, you know being thirty five and all.?
?You?re the same bloody age.?
?I like being old. I think I?ve done it gracefully. So Relena I am asking you now. Just say yes and marry me and we can run away and leave all of this behind us.?
?You're being a bit dramatic. I?m not in any social poverty and I happen to like my job here.?
?Fine I?ll just move in or maybe we?ll have to get a bigger house for the kids.?
?Will it shut you up if I just say yes.?
?Jesus, you used to be annoyed when I never used to talk and now that I am you still aren?t satisfied. But if it will make you happy then I will never say another word. I never stopped thinking about you. I love you Relena and always will.?
?Fine, Heero I will marry you.? She wrapped her arms around his neck and he kissed her hard. This must be the maddest thing she would ever do in her life. Eloping with an old flame here?s one for the memory books. Wait till Hilde hears about this.
?We?re grown ups now so we can do grown up things.? He whispered in her ear.
?Race you to the bedroom.? Hilde could wait. Like old wasps the pair ran up the stairs.
