“Duo, where are you?” Hilde asked coming into their house. She had just come back for the doctor but Duo didn’t know that. “Duo!” she called again.
“Yo, babe. Where were you?” Duo asked, he had started to become worried.
“I went to the doctor and I found out I am pregnant,” Hilde said beaming. When she saw Duo’s reaction her smile faded. “Duo are you ok? Are you mad?” Hilde became more worried. She thought he would be happy.
“Yeah, I’m ok. I think that I need to take a walk, to think things over.” He walked over and gave Hilde a hug.
Well I just heard the news today
It seems my life is going to change
Heero stood up to answer the door. Duo was standing there drenched from the rain.
“Man, I have a big dilemma.” Heero walked Duo to the couch and left the room. He came back with a towel and threw it at Duo. Then he sat across from Duo. “This is awful, but I am also happy,” Duo said more to himself.
“Out with it Duo,” Heero said becoming more agitated.
“I got Hilde pregnant!” He said this so fast, it took Heero a minute to respond.
“Well, do you love Hilde?” Heero asked.
“With all my heart. I would do anything for her,” Duo said, slightly shocked that Heero had to ask such a question.
“Well then, what is the problem?” Heero looked Duo in the eye and said, “If you love her and she loves you, which you know she does, then everything will be ok.”
“I think your right. I’ll go talk to Hilde.”
I close my eyes, begin to pray
Then tears of joy stream down my face
“Hilde, I’m back,” Duo entered the living room. He heard voices, so he headed towards them. “Hilde?”
Relena came out of Hilde’s bedroom. She looked very mad. “Duo Maxwell, how could you. I thought you loved her.” She walked right passed Duo and left their house.
Duo was quite shaken by this, but he continued to enter the bedroom. When he entered his heart shattered to piece at the sight. Hilde was sprawled out on the bed, with her face buried in her pillow. Her shoulders were shaking, as if she was crying.
Duo walked over to her bed and sat down on the side of it. He put a hand on Hilde’s back. She tensed up, but he didn’t move his hand. “Please leave my room,” Hilde said in between sobs.
“Hilde…” Duo started to say.
“Duo please leave,” Hilde said softly.
“I can’t. I love you too much.”
“Love?” Hilde turned her red tear stained face towards Duo. “You love me? Some love. I really did believe you, but now I’m not so sure.” She bursted out into fresh tears. She went to say more but Duo interrupted her.
“Hilde will you marry me?” Duo asked holding up a box with an engagement ring in it.

Hilde collapsed against Duo, “Yes! Yes I will.” Duo hugged her. He lifted her face to look at her beautiful eyes. Duo just starred into Hilde’s light blue eyes for a couple of minutes with out moving. Then Duo brushed her lips with his.
“I will be the best I can be, and I will forever love you…both.”
“I love you too Duo.”
Well I don’t know if I’m ready

Everyone came to their wedding. Relena was the bride’s maid and Heero was the best man. Relena was wearing a silk blue dress, the color of the wedding, and Heero had on a black tux with the same blue color for the tie.
When Hilde walked down the aisle, Duo’s eyes immediately filled with love and joy. Hilde took Duo’s outstretched hand. He whispered into Hilde’s ear, “You look extremely beautiful.” Hilde’s smile just enhanced her beauty.
After about 45 minutes of tears and joy from their friends the couple exchanged their vows and “I do.” They then turned towards the audience, and they were pronounced husband and wife. Duo took Hilde in his arms and kissed her.

We stand in awe, we’ve created life
The party was a blast after the wedding. It was held in a nearby hotel. There was a huge buffet and a great DJ. After everyone ate, Relena and Heero gave their speeches.
Relena’s speech was long and after wards everyone had tears in their eyes. Heero’s speech wasn’t very long, but it brought equal tears to everyone’s eyes. The mic was open for anyone to give his or her speech. Quatre, Trowa, Noin, Zechs, Catherine, Dorothy, Wufei, Sally, and Lady Une all made comments or gave stories about the two. A couple of the stories received laughter.
About five hours later Duo and Hilde were the last to leave. As they reached the door they heard a scream then everything turned from white to black.

Duo woke up hearing sirens and feeling hands poking him. He also felt very sore and his head hurt badly. “What happened?” he asked as he opened his eyes.
“A bomb went off, but you were lucky. You did receive many injuries,” the doctor who was poking him said.
“Where is Hilde?” Duo said starting to get up.
“Sir, please relax. Now who is Hilde?”
“She is my wife, we were just married.” Duo got up and went to find Hilde. The doctor continued to shout to him, but Duo ignored him.
He saw an arm sticking out of the rubble near him. He carefully lifted the pieces off the body. When he saw who it was, his heart leapt to his throat. The girl’s hair was tossed all over with dust entangled in it. Her dress was covered in dirt and blood. Duo recognized Hilde immediately. “Help me!” His scream was mixed with so much emotion, the scream was muffled.

Duo was aloud to ride with Hilde to the nearby hospital. Hilde never moved and that scared Duo bad. Hilde never moved and that scared Duo bad. He had almost lost Hilde once and he’d be damned if it would happen again.
The doctors wouldn’t let him go into the room with Hilde. Several of people were also told to wait for news of their loved ones.
Over the past three hours Duo sat and watched doctors come in and out with news. He had seen a few people smiling, but he saw more break out into tears after the doctors came. The longer and longer he waited the harder it was on him.
Finally a doctor approached Duo with a grim face. “Are you Duo Maxwell? The husband of Hilde Maxwell?”
“Yes.”

“Hilde is doing ok. We had to do surgery to help her with some internal bleeding. She also had some broken ribs,” the doctor said.
“Can I see her?” he asked.
“Yes, she is starting to wake up. But I need to tell you something else.” The doctor paused to see if Duo was paying attention. “Hilde lost her baby,” the doctor said carefully. “I am very sorry.”
Duo sat back down. He buried his head in his hands. He was dumbfounded.

Duo sat back up when someone tapped his shoulder. He looked at the man who sat next to him.
“I heard what happened and I am sorry.” Duo just nodded his head. “But I think you should be happy with this because at least one of your loved ones survived.” At this statement the man’s voice cracked.
At a loss for words Duo replied, “Thanks.”

“Hilde?” Duo spoke softly as he gazed upon his wife lying in the hospital bed. She looked so fragile.
Hilde’s eyes fluttered open when she heard Duo’s voice. She looked at Duo and saw that he had been crying. "What's wrong?” Hilde tried to raise her hand to touch Duo’s face, but she stopped when pain shot through her.
“Hilde?” Duo’s voice was filled with concern.
“I’m ok. How about you?”
“I’m better now that I have seen you. But I have some bad news.” By the look on Duo’s face, Hilde knew that it was very bad.
Hilde took a deep breath before asking what the news was about. When Duo told her she felt like someone just punched her.
Duo gathered Hilde in his arms. She cried on his shoulder as he patted and rubbed her back. This is how the other gundam pilots and girls found them.
“I am so sorry,” Relena said after hearing about Hilde and Duo’s unborn baby.
After talking with everyone for about an hour, Hilde started to cheer up. “I guess having a baby wasn’t meant to be.”
“Maybe, but you should never blame yourself,” Quatre said.
“He is right. Besides we will have fun making another baby,” Duo said squeezing her hand. Hilde turned bright red, which caused everyone else to laugh. Finally Hilde joined them.
Duo looked at Hilde with only love in his heart for him.
