Blissful Ignorance

I'm back again with another poem! Only this time, it's unaltered from its original version (unlike the other poem) and from Relena's point of view! I guess you could say that this is the companion poem of "The One Thing I'd Say", but it could stand alone as well.

Once Again

I saw you again today
That makes me happy
But it also makes me sad

Once again
I wear my heart on my sleeve
Out for the world to see
Out for everyone to know
That you mean so much to me

I try to hide it
But it must be obvious
When my eyes light up
When I give you a smile
Only meant for you

I am such a fool

I desperately yearn for something more
Than just a friendship
But I know there will never be
You will always see me as a friend
And nothing more

Once again
I live in a fantasy
Of the two of us being together
Of the existence of something much more
But I can only dream
Inside the confines of my heart

I?m comforted by this realization
My heart shatters at the same time

It proves that I am still
The girl with dreams and hopes
That I am still human
That I am capable of feeling
Emotions I once deemed unattainable

Once again
My existence is ironic
Fate?s cruel joke

I live in reality
I live in fantasy
I live in pain
I live in joy

I live just to love you
Isn?t that enough?


*sigh* Another angsty poem, I know... I can't help it, it just comes out that way...

Well, I'm impressed, Mo-neesan! Usually I'm not a big fan of poetry, probably because I can't write it myself. ^_~, but I really like the way this one turned out. Very angsty, true, but like the Kanya said the emotions are very clear, which is what I like.

*blush* Sheesh, I'm so flattered by all the compliments... I feel much more loved now. But yeah... I wrote a whole armada of poems when I felt depressed (nee-chan, I think you know what I'm talking about), and this was one of them.
