Last Wish (drabble challenge response)

Everyone seems to be writing sad responses to this drabble challenge, so I thought I would write a happier one. First time writing, so go a little easy on me. Obviously, I don?t own any of the characters, etc, etc.
Title: Last Wish
Rating: G
Pairing: 1xR
Word count: 100
I look into your sky-blue eyes and see unconditional love. Not just love for the ex-assassin, but for the man I have become in his place.
Five years of restraint; constant denial of what's been there all along. All the looks, touches, and facial expressions. I had ignored them the whole time. What was I thinking all that time? So much of our lives - wasted because of my stupidity.
As I slip the gold ring on your finger, my only, and hopefully last, wish was that I had done this sooner.
?...I now pronounce you ? man and wife.?
