Seven Days (Prologue)
Caliborn?s Challenge Response
It was evident to him that he had gone mad.
Totally, insanely, weird-guy-hidden-in-the-shadows-looking-at-you kind of mad.
But, he regressed. Had it not been for Quatre and his impish, nagging, pleading little voice, he would not find himself in this position.
But then?he could regress further.
Had he not been forewarned that SHE was to be there, he would not find himself in this position.
?Hey Heero! It?s Quatre!?
?What?s wrong??
?Nothing. I just wanted to know if you would-?
?No.?
?Relena will be there.?
And this was all it took.
Yet, he was on his way to them. On a bus in the middle of the Earth. Ready to stay with them for a week. Seven whole days.
He hated the thought of a reunion. Loathed it. Wanted to stick it in a Gundam and fly it into the sun. However, he and his ?ever-so-clever? self were headed down to the only reunion of which he could ever take part (high school never being an option).
In retrospect, he might be able to say he did the right thing. After all, he and his hypocritical self had followed less than few emotions in the past two years. Surely now was the time to produce a backbone and fall head over heels again.
Who was he kidding? Again?
He kept tabs. He watched her on the news; followed what she did online. She had a web page:
www.relenastheprincessofpeace.com
which he visited on a frequent basis. But this wasn?t the point. The point was?How was he going to explain this to his conscious who had yet to stop poking at him?
Then again? What was he going to say when he saw her? What would she say? And the most important question of all:
How many hours would pass before would be forced to kill Duo?
The bus driver smiled at him, nodding as they had reached the Winner mansion.
?Yeh gotcher self a pretty good friend, der, meester. If I?s you, I?d stay der fer de rest o? my days, tell ya what!?
Heero made no eye contact, but walked casually off the bus, duffle in one hand, a book in the other (Life?s Little Instruction Book), and a loaded gun in his pocket.
The main gate held a golden W on the front, and laced in between bars as if it were thread. He held a button while a camera whirred to him; checking him. He somehow knew who was in the control panel, and gave a curt finger and a smirk.
?Not funny.?
?Hn.?
?I didn?t think you were coming.?
?I?m here aren?t I??
?Yeah, I guess so. Hey! You?ll never guess who?s here!?
?Let me in, Duo.?
?Wow. Will she ever be pleased to see you!!!!?
He readied his gun. Obviously, he would have to kill Duo in less than five minutes.
Disclaimer: GW characters ain?t mine.
WHEW!!! I have made a prologue! *snickers* An idea came to me in the middle of the night, and I had to start writing? There should be seven main chapters (one for each day) and an epilogue.
I might forgo the epilogue if I feel it necessary. But I doubt it. ^_^
All right! I have started! *looks for the rest of the challenges* Come on, people!!! Get a move on!!!!!
