The Shadows behind her smile (2)

Relena is getting weaker.
I could tell by the way she smile. Some thing is bothering her; she breaks into tears every time she sees me. Her smile is no longer true and full of laughter, she only smiles to cover up what were happening inside, fear.
I noticed that she was also losing weight. I caught her arm before she went to work. It was all skin and bone. She smiled weakly as tears rolled down her cheeks. She turned and walked out, leaving me with puzzled thoughts.

"Heero, princess is making her speech."
I snapped my head up and saw a very weak Relena, her face pale and her eyes blood shot.
"The Defence Minister and I have had an agreement that no new weapons will be manufactured and further discussions would be made." She swayed back and forth as she frowned as darkness blinded her.
Heero dropped his coffee over documents as he grabbed the television for a better look.
" Weapons are…" darkness took over as she felt wind brushing past her and the ground hit her with a gentle thud. The ministers swarm up to her and Heero saw medical officers carry her onto a stretcher and drove off.
"What just happened?"Asked an extremely pale Duo.
Heero got up and ran towards the carpark. He jumped into his car and sped off. He didn't care that Une was not going tot be pleased, him leaving work like that. All he cares was if Relena was going to be all right.
The sight of Relena, pale and asleep with tubes in her body made Heero regret not doing anything sooner.
He slammed his fist into the wall as blood dripped down onto the clean floor.
Why didn't he cheer her up?
Why didn't her made sure she was well and healthy
Why didn't he insist that she stayed at home today?
This is all my fault. He walked closer towards her limp body and gripped onto her thin hand.
"Relena, why are you doing this? " He asked. "Why are you tormenting yourself."
I stayed with her all day and all night. She was still unconscious but he knew that she was not all right. She was trapped in fear and the shadows swallowed her up and there was nothing he could do to help her. She has to get out of the whirlpool and light up the darkness in her smile. Only she could do it. I could help but as long as she allows to being caught into this self-confidence-plaguing storm, she would never get out.
Her friends came to try and cheer her up. Duo came with an extremely pale Hilde who brought a box of tissues and used it up in ten minutes.Trowa, Midii and Catherine came along with Quatre. They were all very shocked when they saw her fall from the stage. Midii left some books for Relena to help her.
I looked at my pale and skinny wife, she still hasen't woke up. Or rather still 'doesn't 'want to wake up. He just doesn't get it. Why is their body everything to them, I mean I'm am never going to leave her, I would die for her so why does she think that I'm going to abandon her for her shape? She has got the perfect shape…not that I've seen any other girls, but right now she is all skin and bones, she is pale and weak.
"I miss you Relena,"I said as I leaned my forehead against hers. "I miss your smile and you laughter. I miss the real you Relena. Please open your eyes and look at me Relena. See that I love you for who you are, not what you look like." I brushed my lips against hers as her eyes shut tightly and tears dropped slid down her cheek.
