Author?s Notes: Catherine and Trowa es no hermana y hermano.. comprende? [translation: they are not brother and sister. derfs] its just a fanfic, dear readers. If you don?t like this coupling or concept, you can either skip over this chapter, or stop reading my fanfic altogether. Okie dokes? And no, there is no Midii bashing? I have nothing against her in any sense whatsoever.

A New Beginning
-Chapter 3: The Show Must Go On-
Love. There are many different levels of loving: Puppy love, friendship love, family love, sexual love, etc.? And there are many different forms of it, too: jealous love, unrequited love, unwanted love, and so and so forth.
Now, the question on Catherine Bloom?s mind was: How strong was the love she felt for Trowa Barton?
No brainer, right? Nuh-uh, no.
In the beginning, Catherine had not once doubted the level of her affections. When she had seen those forest-green eyes, she had been caught surprise. A mysterious intensity swirled in those green orbs. And she wasn?t lying when she told Trowa he was cute, especially if he?d smile more often (which he did, eventually?). Regardless of her attraction to him, Catherine took Trowa in from the cold and posed as his older sister. [A/N in reference to Trowa?s short-term amnesia] The lavender-eyed beauty was aware she had strong feelings for the ?boy with no name?, but Catherine marked it off as a type of ?sisterly love.? As if to make up for the brother she had lost long ago?
Recently, however, it seemed as though Catherine had completely misinterpreted those feelings. Ever since Midii and Trowa ?found? each other, jealousy became a constant thing in her life.
Catherine hated to be jealous. It just felt so?evil. And she hated even more to feel such contempt towards such a nice girl with a troubled past. (Meaning Midii.)
Watching Trowa and Midii?s relationship unfold was a little?okay, very much, nauseating to bear. Their interaction was sickeningly sweet. Suddenly, Catherine realized that Trowa loving her, Cathy, as a ?big sis? just wasn?t good enough.
Because she loved him.
And it was so not just a sister-brother thing. Or a platonic one. It was one of those can?t eat, can?t sleep, over-the-hill, and up the fence type love.
Positively intense.
So you can imagine the emotional battle Catherine Bloom had to endure with herself upon facing this fact.
Not pretty.
Catherine sighed, finishing her letter. She hoped it was believable enough?especially for Trowa?s liking.
Then again, he might be too preoccupied with her to even notice.
=Whatever?= Catherine thought, trying to shake off the bitter notion.
?Catherine?? the ringleader, her uncle, spoke. He had just entered her trailer room. The middle-aged man looked over his niece?s packed things. ?Leaving?? he inquired.
Cathy nodded, arising from her seat. ?Yes, Uncle Vlad. I am??
Her Uncle?s face turned to one of confusion. ?Well, I know I can?t stop you. You?ve grown up, after all. Beautiful, talented, and smart? But you?ll be missed, Cathy. By all of us. Including him.?
Catherine froze. Her Uncle actually knew.
Uncle Vladimir smiled at this reaction and walked up to her, enveloping his little Cathy in an embrace. ?Yes, I know? Don?t seem so shocked, though! You?re hurting my feelings!?
Catherine nearly cried right there. She?d miss her Uncle? and everyone else?Trowa was no exception.
?The show must go on?? Catherine whispered, giving her Uncle Vlad a quick kiss on the cheek. Soon afterward, she grabbed her things and left.
Her Uncle understood. He found his eyesight had already become blurry due to the build of tears, at Catherine?s departure. He glanced around the now empty trailer to find a solitary, lengthy note left behind.

Outside, darkness and the chilly atmosphere surround Catherine. She managed to hitch a ride easily enough. Catherine had looked back at the circus tent for a moment; absorbing the last she?d ever see it in a long time.
Yes, the show would go on? without her.
