Tenchi Muyo
Melville?s Best Friend
The command program was down again. She had spent the better half of the morning trying to save the data that she had collected of the boy. Neon lights bounced off her walls and toyed with her features. She looked almost demonic as her tone was alight one second, and mysteriously hidden the next. The vibrations of the machines rattled the floor, and she could feel her chair vibrate with each passing second. She brought her hand up to touch air, and was met by a black screen that magically appeared before her fingertips. Remaining focused on the screen in front of her, her hand took an entirely different mental route, and typed something into the computer processor. The miniature screen blinked twice and suddenly shot a load of information at her.
?That?s better. I was beginning to think you?d shorted out on me,? she said, still toying with her computer system. A bell rang in her lab, and she turned on yet another screen.
?Ayeka. Pleasure to see you again, my dear. What?s up??
?Miss Washu, dinner is ready.?
?Dinner already? I?ve been at work longer than I thought! I?ll be there in a second, Ayeka,? she said, terminating the call from the other dimension. She was about to leave when something came up on her screen. Sighing, she sat down to see what it was. Her hand glided to another transparent computer screen, and soon she was able to view a message that had been sent from across the galaxy. Her eyes widened as she saw the monitor, and her small form almost caved in on itself.
?Wasn?t Washu supposed to be coming down here??
?She told me she was coming, Tenchi. I called on her myself. Maybe she had some more work to do,? replied Ayeka, who was currently sipping some tea.
?Eh. Don?t worry about her. She?ll come out when she wants to. Washu never has been a team player. Maybe she just wants some alone time,? Ryoko said as she scarfed down many noodles.
?Ryoko, you should really slow down. You?re gonna choke on something if you don?t stop eating like a pig!? Mihoshi commented.
?That?s just the way she is, Mihoshi. Far be it for a space pirate to know proper etiquette,? Ayeka noted, delicately eating her noodles.
Ryoko slammed her fists on the table. ?Just what the heck are you implying Princess? I happen to have great manners!?
?I?m sure you do, Ryoko. You and the rest of the hogs you wallow with behave very nicely, don?t you?? Ayeka stifled a laugh, but managed to look smug.
?That?s it. I?ve had it with you! You die now!? Ryoko charged herself up, and soon had a beam-sword placed at Ayeka. She, in turn, formed a small barrier around herself.
?Really, you two. Do you always have to fight?? Sasami wept. Her food always went to waste when they went at it. Then she was left cleaning the mess with lil? Ryo-okey. *I have NO idea how to spell that?.*
?I?m going to go check on Washu,? Tenchi said, getting up. Usually the girls would have noticed, but when he left they were busy trying to get Ryoko to calm down? She was chasing Ayeka all over the house. Eventually, it would end up the same? The house would be in shambles, and Nobo Yuki would end up yelling at everyone to clean up the house?which made Tenchi furious?Sasami sighed.
?These two never learn?? she said as she shrugged her delicate little shoulders.
Tenchi knocked on Washu?s door, hoping she would open it and apologize for her tardiness. He had no such luck. Silently, he opened the door, and stepped inside the spacious room. Walking a short distance, he saw massive fish in a huge aquarium. His eye twitched at the size of one of the fish?s teeth? It was as big as Tenchi. He backed away from the monster, sweat dropping, and bumped into Washu?s computer. Turning around swiftly, he realized that the whole thing was off.
?Washu? Lil? Washu?? he called. At this point he was worried. In all the time he had known her, her computer had never been off. Somewhat happy that the eerie glow was gone, he continued to call for the scientist. ?Washu! Are you in here??
He stumbled in the dark, groping his way towards?.anything. He thought he heard a muffled sound, and scooted towards it. His vision started to focus in the dark, and he was soon able to distinguish basic shapes. His eyes happened to come upon spiky pink hair. He sighed and sat down next to her.
?Lil Washu, you gave me a scare! I thought something was wrong for a minute there,? he said, not even looking at her face. When she made no sound, he glanced in her direction.
?Lil? Washu, what?s wrong?? he questioned. He noticed there was something sticky falling down her hand, and picked her fragile appendage up.
?Washu! You?re bleeding!? he cried. He pulled the cloth from his head off, and wrapped it around her hand. ?What happened?? he inquired. She still made no noise or movement. He looked around, and saw a broken computer. Ah?She cut her hand on that?.?Lil? Washu?.?
?They took my baby, Tenchi??
?Who took your baby??
?Do you remember when I told you that I was married once, and had a child? His name was Sarro, and they took him from me?? he saw her face twist in agony, and become moist with the fall of her tears. He tried his best to comfort her, but he didn?t know the story.
?Washu, tell me?.What happened??
?My husband took my baby when I had just given birth? He wasn?t even a year old when he was taken away from me?? she sighed, and continued. ?Because of certain galactic procedures, I was ordered by the supreme council of Jurai and of one, Lady Tokimi?to never go near Sarro again. I still, to this day don?t understand why they did that to me. They ruined my life with that one decision.? Tenchi looked at her, and sighed.
?Washu, I?m sorry?.?
?I was able, through scientific analysis, to keep tabs on Sarrow. I watched him grow up from afar, but I still got to watch him grow up, you know? But?.I just learned?.? Her head tilted upward, and the tears flew down her face in cascades. She made no noise for a few moments, and Tenchi allowed her some reverie. She continued a few minutes later.
?He worked on a political project housed by members of that same galactic court. They found him guilty of some crime?I don?t even know what it was?And the punishment, Tenchi??
She looked at him dead in the eye. He could see her pain. It was all over her. It was wearing at her whole body, and he thought this was one thing Washu wasn?t going to be able to overcome with a sarcastic remark?
?The punishment, Tenchi?was death??
?Washu??..?
?My computer was down for the majority of the day! I never even heard about the crime until I found out he was dead?Technically, I?m not even supposed to know about this?.But, I?ll have my revenge, Tenchi.? Her eyes glowed a swarming red, and before Tenchi could remark, she became her normal self. He gasped. She was wearing some kind of royal ensemble, and looked at Tenchi through determined, yet scared eyes. He looked at her. She now had three green dots on her forehead, and her ensemble left little to the imagination when it came to her chest. Her shoulders were adorned in huge billows of purple material, and huge metallic cat eyes held her ensemble in place. Her neck and all around her head were surrounded in a thin strap of golden metal, and her pants reached past the floor. All in all, Tenchi thought, she looked BEYOND tall. He sweat dropped at her appearance, and watched her watching him.
?I want retribution, Tenchi.? She opened her palm, and shot a blast at her computer. It blew up quickly, and the force knocked Tenchi to the ground.
?Washu?I don?t think that?s the best idea.?
She glanced at him. ?I have a bone to pick with Tokimi anyway. I can understand your wanting to stay out of this, but I might need your sword later.?
?Washu?I cannot misuse the power of the Light Hawk Sword??
?Ayeka would have said the same thing. As prince of Jurai, I assume you cannot be associated in what I?m going to do.? She watched him out of the corner of her eye.
?Tell Tsunami where I went. She will need to hear where I?m going. This is a part of her as well?.?
Tenchi nodded.
Washu aimed her palm at a wall, and a beam of black light shot out, opening a portal of some kind. Before stepping in, she glanced casually at Tenchi.
?Tell your grandfather of my meeting with Lady Tokimi?I think he?ll be surprised.?
?But, Washu?.?
Tenchi didn?t get to say a word to her. She had gone through the portal.
Disclaimer: I don?t own Tenchi Muyo!!!!! Nope?.Sorry. Well, I know this isn?t all that good, but I wanted to try my hand at a Washu fic. *holds up WASHU ROCKS sign* She IS my favorite character, after all?..Well, have a nice day all you?.Peoples!!!!!
