One of my peers died this weekend due to being under the influence of drugs while he was driving at high speeds. This peer of mine happens to be well known around the school, whom many of the students like. I never happened to get to know him, although I've attended school with him for years now. I'm sad about what happened, but it doesn't effect me as much as I never knew him. We probably spoke no more than five words to eachother. But a few of my friends knew him, and are very emotional right now. Although I can handle one friend, it's a bit difficult having all these emotional people around me. School days are feeling a bit off and I'd like to help my friends, but I just don't know what to do or say... and any advice on how to deal with this would be great.

Whenever there's a death in a school, everyone will be mournful. Even the one's who hated him. You shouldn't feel obligated to mourn for his passing, although feeling sad about it is natural. The best thing to do is just support your friends when they need it. Lots of hugs, people like that kind of stuff.
EVeryone will be really down for a while, and the aura of your school will be gloomy and feel very depressing, but as your peers cope with his death, in due time. The only thing you can do is give them a shoulder to cry on and be extra nice.

See kid-o's? one more reason why drugs are bad.

When used inpoperly, right? People deal with death in their own ways. Sometimes people even mourn the living.

Yeah hus are good. And talk to them about it or rather have them talk to you. Most people feel better after they get whatever is on their chest off it. And you don't have to say anything just listen. If thats helps.
A popular kid at my school just died in a car crash, and everyone is saying it was a suicide, I don't remeber the kids name, but everyone is doing the opposite at my school, they're talking about it like the greatest gossip since jen and ben broke up. That kind of makes me diappointed in a way. I don't like gossip really, not when people slander the one who has just passed away. And my C.D. player no longer has batteries, Dear Heero or anyone, how can I ingnore those around me without music to drown them out? And no, I'm not really one to say "hey, I don't want to hear about that", I'm not really one to say anything but the necessary at school. Please respond.

Thank you everyone for your advice, I spend the afternoon with my friend the other day (after the fact that she had been crying all through our english class) and so I hope I made her day a little better, but uh...

Katy-did Bug... although there's a slim chance of it... did this kid just die this weekend? And by any chance did your school just get a spirit rock with the words painted on them RIP and the kids name on it? Everyone in school has been talking about it like it's the latest gossip too... even a few of my teachers... which was why my friend started crying.

But on a happier note I have a question for heero... If your friend forced you to read a Romance book (female porn I tell you!!!!) which I hope I never have to read again.... (as a part of our deal was she had to read one of my books) what would you make her read? I'm having trouble thinking up a book that might torture her just as much as me.

Thanks again you guys!!!!

Female porn indeed. Although I flipped by some of these "fan fics" and I don't see the differance. I swear, some of you are sick sick individuals!
Anyway, I would usually tune out Duo by either deeply concentraiting on my thoughts to the point where everything else skips over me, or by sleeping.
And Shinigamigrul, tellitubbie books are much too short. they are for children. SimplyT, if you want to exact total revenge, then find the thickest, most boring book at the library.
