You usually don't for most college classes. And I say most, because it really depends on the course and the professor.

Seriously though, don't let anyone tell you that college is easy...cuz it's not when you have a goal and college is basically the only way to go if you want to reach it.

but college isn't nessecary (i know i didn't spell it right) for what i want to do, its advised but not nessecary. ... for all those who don't already know, i wanna be a commercial pilot...

Right, I remember. But things may change once you get into college, so it's just better to go in with an open mind (and maybe a goal in mind).

And I say it's better to go and get a college education because it opens many more job opportunities.

Actually, Epyon, my uncle is a commercial pilot. He never got a degree because it wasn't necessary, but since 9/11 he's had a hard as hell time finding jobs. He's a great pilot, it's just that companies will ignore his resume in favor of another which has "Four Year Degree" checked on it. Even if he has more experience flying that type of airplane and he comes with better recommendations, companies don't want to hire him because he doesn't have degree.

So, at thirty-something, he's actually going to night school to get a degree now so he can get the higher-paying jobs. ^_^

I think it's silly because there's no actual "Flying Degree" that you can get. He's going for an english degree. @.@ Logically, guys who have completed four years in college aren't necessarily any better flyers than guys who have spent their time after highschool learning to be pilots. And yet somehow, they're preferred over the latter ones.

This is, of course, all according to my uncle... but he's been flying for a pretty long time and he seems to know it fairly well...

Anywho, that's my two cents. ^_^

*nod, nod* Apparently it's a whole lot harder to get a good job in the field that I'm interested in if you just have a bachelor's degree...so that means either committing to vet school or graduate school for me.
