Naruto couples! ^_^

It's not the incest angle of NejiHina that bothers me, it's the absolute lack of justification for the pairing. Neji tried to KILL her, and not in the "it's my duty and I'm struggling against it" way that Heero tried to kill Relena. He did it because he has serious issues with her. After that, there's no smoldering passion or close bonding. He teases her a little about her crush on Naruto, which really doesn't seem to imply romantic feelings.

Also, Neji is destined for Tenten, so nyeh.

Neji did try to kill her. Or at the very least hurt her very badly during their fight in the chuunin exam. However, was he actually pissed at her or rather the rest of the family? Hinata did not ask to become the first born of her parents. Who was he railing against? The establishment? The kid was frustrated and she was the easiest target for him to take all that frustration out on.

That's another matter entirely actually so let's not delve into that aspect of Neji's teenaged problems. I mean hell, he started to let go of his anger/frustration after a simple apology from his uncle. So who was he pissed at?

What got me into the pairing (other than the incest factor) was Neji himself who told his precious daddy that Hinata was cute. There you have it. That's it. Other than that incest and angsty sex that would accompany such a pairing later on in their life (and that do not include rape).

Regarding Neji and Tenten? Um no. Just no. Lee and Tenten have a higher probabilty of hooking up than Neji and Tenten. In all honesty I don't see an indication that there's <i>anything</i> but friendship/comradery between Neji and Tenten. But that's just me.

That particular pairing does not interest me in any way, shape, or form. I know it rocks other people but seeing as I see no basis for it, I pass it to the best of my ability. Just as I know other people pass on SasuSaku which is my Naruto OTP.

Well, I think there's just as much chance of Neji/Tenten as Neji/ANYONE, since the boy's an ice-cube; even more than Sasuke, who is actually a lot more hot-headed than people give him credit (or is it blame?) for. She is the team-mate he seems to get along with most, she obviously likes him, and in the later manga...

Not very convincing arguments. If someone said (like you just did) that they didn't think NejiTen was going to happen, I wouldn't get mad. I WOULD JUST TRY TO CONVERT THEM TO THE LIGHT.

The thing is that Kishi doesn't really put a lot of development into the romantic side of things (though he promised he'd do more in the second part of the manga) so there's little to go on; add to that , Tenten is one of the most under-developed characters in the series.

I think that's what makes her fun for me, though. What glimpses of her we have seen suggest an extremely intriguing character - ambitious, more pragmatic than the other kunoichi (not necessarily a good thing, but definitely an interesting one), self-sufficient and facts-oriented - and it's fun to fic up a background for her.

As for NejiHina - I don't think the "she's cute!" comment when they were toddlers constitutes PROOF, but it does make for an interesting element in a story. I don't dislike incest actually, especially as I'm a sucker for sibling relationships, and I have to wonder if I'd be more into it if I were less fanatical (yes I admit it) about NejiTen.

Same for me. Neji is either single (because being single rocks) or with a family member. I just don't see him hooking up with any females that have been presented thus far.

It is sad that Tenten doesn't have much development and it's propbably the biggest factor on why I don't like her because I can't use her properly when writing (everything other than her first name and her weapon abilities are pure conjecture and I want something concrete to build upon before I branch out). But then Sakura (who I admit I'm a fangirl for) is a main character and she doesn't have that much development either. Granted she's gotten more than Tenten but I still think she's gotten shafted. *shrugs*

And I can't be converted. Even where it made canon, NejiTen is something I cannot wrap my mind around. It's just one of those things. I admit to being biased though. Team Gai isn't and has never really been a team that interested me. Neji was the only one I found engaging enough to pay attention to. Yes I felt pity/sympathy for Lee but at the same time I am just bored by the kid. Tenten doesn't even register on my radar even if she is a great kunoichi.

If you listen to NaruSaku fans, Kishimoto has been dropping hints since the time jump of romance! ZOMG! I roll my eyes because while I do like NaruSaku, to me there aren't as many hints as people would like to claim.

The more I think about it, I'd rather see Naruto single as well. Kakashi, Naruto, and Neji can all be single for life. Whore it up boys but don't settle down! <s>And if I can't get SasuSaku because something happens to Sasuke then Sakura should just toss her pride and go h0r herself out to the rest of Akatsuki.</s>

P03, haven't you bothered to read Gaara/Lee? There's those fics out there. And I've seen a few *shudder* LeeSaku. And even NejiLee. But then we don't cater to the first or last so I doubt you would have seen those puppies. ~_^

All three choices are interesting so and picking just one is hard sooooo.....I choose all of the above!!! Reading the manga so far I can see a NauSaku thing going on but I won't hold my breath. Lee is a nice guy but indeed boring. Maybe if he got that stick out of his arse he would be a better character. On that note, I don't tend to read yaoi.

I guess my values are stopping me on NejiHina, or it could be that I'm too much of a NaruHina fan to even like Naruto AND Hinata w/ anyone else but each other. Thus said, I won't comment on it anymore. Nor have I been keeping up w/ the latest chaps, so if there is even a hint of NaruSaku, I wouldn't know.

All I can say is this: Sakura looks GOOD w/ others, especially Sasuke, Itachi, Kakashi, and Gaara. The rest are okay, but I think these ones are the best, though I had read a Kotetsu(?) x Sakura one, even a Genma x Sakura one. Now, can someone find me a GREAT SaiSaku fic to read? I would definitely appreciate it, especially if there are some sexual tensions.

I was just joking about the convert thing. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, since I have to admit to not only liking Team Gai (a bunch of kids who can survive being under that nut interest me) but also to liking NaruSaku and believing there have been hints pre-timeskip. Mostly on Naruto's side, his "I would do anything up to and including fighting demons - literally - for you" personality towards Sakura but also the fact that you can see her sort of thawing towards Naruto gradually over the course of the series. And I think that's part of what interests me about the NaruSaku pairing; they're real around each other, and it's not some flash-in-the-pan or instant thing, it's built up.

And I'm still hoping/praying that it will end up SasuSaku. Otherwise Sakura really is just a flighty, fake, shallow and insincere girl and I will hate her for all eternity. And I don't want that.

NaruSaku friendship I'll be fine with though. Because to me that's all it is even now.
