Ooooh Hooo Man. Ya gotta love all the Kagome/Inu-Yasha cuteness in the movies. Makes the Ninja and Yasha obsessed friend Me-chan very happy. So happy in fact we squeal for joy.
Oh yeah Kikyo is a dirty bitch whore of the dead. That's all I think I have to say on that one.

Most definitely Kagome. Kagome is
so much better for him! As for my thoughts on Kikyo...

I'll have to agree with Red Ninja. I absolutely
despise her.

I know, she's already technically dead, so just let her die already! I mean, seriously! Since they haven't killed her off, at least we can go and kill her together! *does death to Kikyo dance with Red Ninja*

I think that alot of this debate arises from the misunderstanding of reincarnation itself. Kagome is Kikyo according to the law of reincarnation. Life in this sense is a non-ending cycle that regenerates or manifests itself into bodies. Kagome is different in personality, but she still is Kikyo...or rather Kikyo is now her. The differences are due to the evolution of the soul. It would be wrong tho say that they are two seperate people, even if that is how Kagome feels. Her life is dictated in many ways by the causes and effects (karmic law) she made in past lifes (burning the shikon with her body for example), hence why she is drawn into the past in this story.
The part that makes this hard to grasp by some is the zombie made of basically dirt and ashes has the face of Kikyo and wishes to regain Kikyo's old soul. That doesn't make her the real kikyo...that is now Kagome.
I say...think of Kagome as Kikyo ver.2.0. Same base program, plenty of new updated and debuggings.
This story would not be told if it were not a love story between Kagome and Inu Yasha. In the end, Kikyo is nothing, just back story that leads to the love between the two characters.
I don't have the slightest clue how this all will end...I want it to be happy, but life is not always cut and dry and niether are manga.
If any of you want any better explainations of Reincarnation (way better than I can state it) I have plenty of resources I would be happy to suggest to you. I feel understanding this concept is helpful in understanding more of Inu Yasha, not to mention life as a whole ^_^ Although it seems several of you already understand the concept well...

Whoa, I think Ice Princess has a point, if not a little confusing... (sorry girl) I'll say right out that I'm pro-Inu/Kag but I do sympathize with Kikyo. I'm glad I came across this subject, and respect each and everyone's opinion on this.
Honestly, I'm not sure whether Inuyasha will end up with anyone in the end because each one of them have their duties to fulfill: miko, hanyou, girl from future. Unfortunately (through my eyes), I think the whole thing will end up bittersweet. (reminds me of Escaflowne, *sniff*)
But I blather...
About the whole soul and reincarnation topic, I'm quite confused. Yes, they shared the same soul, but I refuse to believe that they're the 'same person' just living a different life. However, what I DO BELIEVE, is that Kagome would have felt a natural attraction for the hanyou because of Kikyo. With me so far?
Leading from that... Kagome is her own person. We all know that each life is different and no matter how similar people can be, it's their own experiences, triumphs, victories, and relationships that REALLY shape a person. (I doubt Kikyo has felt anything like peer pressure because she was a solitary miko.)
Overall? I love Inu/Kag together, but it might not work out in the end...
