The things on the wrist? Here's something about gundams... for a lot less money and a lot less labor, they can take off a LOT of useless pieces. Like the fins on the side of the face, the paint job, the big ass shoulders. But when you take all that away, it just looks rediculous. And how am I supposed to strike fear in the hearts of enemies when you look like a little padded metal skeloton. Sure you can do the exact same work... but it just doesn't look good. AT ALL!
