Since this story had been "resurrected" in this forum, so to speak, I'll comment upon it now. Shevey, this was such a beautiful story. I read this once a long time ago. It felt so real, so in character, and I was so upset afterward that I couldn't post a reply. I was just too emotional.
I'm completely serious: I didn't even re-read it before this reply, because I knew I'd just get too upset.
I know everyone's angry at Heero (as was I), but my heart also goes out to him. He seems devastated by it (as much as he can be devastated, anyway), and he's genuinely repentant. He made a horrible, immoral, stupid decision, and he feels sincere remorse. He loves Relena... and, sadly, it took that affair for him to realize how much he took her for granted and loved her. It kind of reminds me of the movie
Fatal Attraction. I hated the male character, too, at the beginning, but as the film progressed, I could feel how sorry he was, that he would take it back and never forgive himself for it--not only because his lover was INSANE.
As for Relena... my heart goes out to her as well. I disagree: I think she's forgiven him... but she can't forget. I remember her saying something, when he asked about lying with her, about the fact that he should be with her becuase he was her
husband. I don't remember the exact line, and I refuse to look for it because of aforementioned reasons. She's a strong person, as we all know, and her love is beyond his. She has enough integrity and character to forgive him, and I, personally, think it shows in the story.
Anyway, great job, Shevey. Bravo.
