I'm with other too.

The kiss and hug ones are cute. quicker than typing *glomp* and *hugs* etc but then the effort is what makes giving a glomp to a fellow member meaningful. Though I can get away with the quick kiss = xxx <-- see, just press [X]

So, whatever. More or less, BI will always rock my socks.

I've made my own custom smileys myself, I don't think I'm that bad. I know I'm new and all, but, what do you say?

Probably pain and suffering on par with being locked up in a room with nothing but Michael Bolton blarring through a loud speaker on repeat with no chance of escape.

I can handle Michael Bolton. Try Cher.... *shudder* Even if I do like some of her songs, constantly hearing "Dew yew beeleave in life after love?" would equate to me stabbing myself repeatedly in the ear with a Q-tip.

As for the smilies, I'm still against adding more in. Granted a shifty eyed one wouldn't be bad, but other than that, who cares? Not I.

I don't mind typing "*glomp*" or "*hug*" because I don't mind putting in the effort.

But seeing as the poll suggests we have smilie h0rs around here, I'm in the minority...again. Ah well such is my life.

I'm completely with you wicked. I'm not a fan of excessive smiley use. Especially when a post consists of ONLY smilies. Really peeves me. I'm perfectly happy with the smilies we have. Maybe a shifty and a halo smily... but otherwise... I'm good.

To me, smilies and excessive net speak should be reserved for chat windows. Forum posts that are just gabbled junk, annoying gifs and butchered english kills my brain cells.

And I've already killed enough of those with alcohol.

Get over it. If they're too boring for you, deal with it. Use words to express your emotions rather than some silly graphic.

Or is it that most people (not directly you personally) are just a wee bit lazy when it comes to typing these days.

I've been having trouble finding more that aren't totally stupid and match the ones we already have.

Having a basketball playing smilie or a handicapped basketball bouncing smilie doesn't interest me. There aren't free smilies that match the ones we have that do hugs or whatever. I downloaded some to add to the site, but I'm not really all that happy with what I was able to find.

I'd be fine with someone making them, but my requirement is that they have to match the ones we have. No orange pumpkin heads or green martians.

And Mel and Wicked... I found a hack that limits the number of smilies that go in a post, so that will be installed at the same time that the smilies are updated.

But. It's another delay. More programming. And they just updated the software, so I get to mess with that, too.
