Facing the direction that the limo had driven off in, he casually loosened the tie at his neck. It was only a five mile journey; that was what? A 25-30 minute run for the Perfect Soldier? He didn't have to wait for red lights or stick to streets. He would make it there only a few minutes after her.
Taking the first step of many, Heero began on his long walk home.

"Duo Maxwell, how could you?!" Hilde roared, "They're your friends!"
Duo, not quite knowing how to react just yet, leaned back in his chair and admired his girlfriend. Perhaps he could squirm his way out of this? "You know, you're cute when you're angry."
Definitely not the right thing to say as the petite woman rounded on him, a fire blazing in her eyes.
"Don't you dare 'cute when you're angry' with me! You're not wriggling out of trouble this time! What were you thinking?! - Were you even thinking?"
Duo shrugged, taking her question in yet still not comprehending the seriousness of his predicament. Surely Hilde could understand the joke? "It was just a bit of camaraderie."
"Camaraderie?!" Quite suddenly, she slammed her hands on the table making the braided former pilot jump, "If it was just Heero, maybe I could understand camaraderie. But she's the Vice Foreign Minister, and he's her bodyguard! You release footage like that, and what do you think happens?!"
"Oh, come on, Hilde. You know it was funny. People wouldn't take it seriously. They'd think it was doctored. No harm done."
"No harm done," Hilde repeated dumbly.
Duo nodded assertively thinking that he'd won her over. That was until that smug smirk found its way onto her features. He knew that gleam in her eyes, and it was then that he finally realized how much trouble he was really in.
"You're forcing my hand, Duo," she said straightening.
"Now Hilde, don't do anything rash-" be began, vaguely aware of the irony that he was telling her not to be rash.
She put up a hand and cut him off, "If it's so funny and just a bit of camaraderie, then you won't have any problem asking their permission." Duo's mouth dropped open. "Or apologizing," she continued, "Might be a better alternative."
"I-I can't... Heero...! Relena! Hilde! Babe! I can't apologize for-for-"
"Well, until you do, I'm afraid that I can't clean, do your laundry, or-"
"No!"
"Cook."
"No! Hilde! You can't. I can't! -"
"Well, you'll just have to live without my cooking, then." With that, she walked out of the interrogation room leaving behind a very shaken Duo.

Zechs Merquise stood on the porch of the Peacecraft Manor pondering the curious events of the previous hour.
It had started with the sporadic behavior of Noin in a call he'd made to inquire as to her where-abouts. They were supposed to have a lunch date, but she'd been late - something that never happened. Lucrezia Noin did not know how to be late. So, he'd called her.
During the conversation, she'd seemed flustered, also highly un-Noin-ish. In a frantic search for something - she hadn't told him what - she'd actually forgotten about lunch. She had apologized and hung up before he could question her further.
If he'd been unsettled by her behavior then, surely he was completely confused when she called 20 minutes later, much relieved and trying to reset their lunch date. Annoyed with her secrecy from him, he'd told her to forget lunch entirely.
He'd been in the midst of regretting that decision - a seemingly favorite pastime of his, regretting decisions he made - when his dear sister arrived home.
The first thing he noticed was her icy demeanor when she stepped into the room. When Relena was angry, the whole atmosphere changed. It was a 'gift' they both shared having been passed to them from their father.
The second thing he had noticed was the rumpled look about her clothing and slightly mussed hair. Relena was impeccable when it came to her appearance. - Another trait they both shared.
Finally, he'd noticed the absence of one specific former Gundam Pilot.
Heero missing, Relena disheveled and upset - he jumped to the first logical assumption: an attempted attack. Wait. Why wasn't she crying or at the hospital? Something didn't add up here.
"Relena -" he began.
"Shut up, Milliardo. I don't want to hear it."
He watched after her dumbfounded; she never talked to him like that though he could admit to himself that he definitely sometimes deserved it.
So, completely bewildered by the behaviors of the two women closest to him, Zechs stood on the porch, thinking.
Then, the next strange occurrence happened: Heero Yuy was jogging up to him, his white shirt slightly speckled with dots of perspiration.
He slowed to a trot and then a walk as he climbed the stairs and stopped at Zechs' questioning glance.
In a split-section decision, Heero had formulated his new plan.
"What-?" Zechs started.
Heero reached into his pocket and handed to Zechs its contents. "Those should explain any questions you have," and he stalked inside to take a quick shower.
Zechs stared at the lacey panties in his hands. For the life of him, he couldn't tell if they were white or red.

So... what will Zechs do with his sister's underpants?
