Actually, Japan's version of Inuyasha is nowhere near being "over". The show has been cancelled, but there are at least a hundred more manga issues to cover. At least we can see the end of the series on the manga. I still think they will continue the show in Specials and Movies. They have to end it with Kagome and Inu Yasha having some sort of cute/romantic/fluffy moment!

Well, apparently, the tv show is ending with episode 166-167, as a two part eppie called, "The Two's Bond-Use the Shikon Shard" in September. But the manga will continue to go on for a while.

Actually- there aren't. She's drawing it to a close close now. It'll be finished within the next 2 books. And that's that.

It's like JK Rowling only having two more books. She doesn't want to do anymore because the storyline will be finished within those last two.

Do you have a link to that web page where that announcement appeared? Was it on the Sunrise or YTV site? Those are the official Inuyasha sites. As of about two weeks ago, they had no announcement of the series ending. What date is your quote from?
I know that Viz representatives told reporters at Comic Con that the anime will end in September with episodes 166 and 167, which will air together as a two-part special, but Viz is only the USA distributor and I'd like to hear if from Sunrise, the actual producers of the series.
If the double episode special is the last episode, then the series would end in the middle of an arc. Sunrise has a contract for 200 episodes but if they make too many filler (non-manga) episodes, they will not have enough episodes for the real manga story. That is why some fans think the series is only taking another break (which it has done before) in order to let the manga catch up some.
The third movie was released last year. The 4th movie is due out later this year.
So again I ask, which website did you get that quote from?
Thanks,
wj

In response to wj. Fair enough, go to:
http://www.ytv.co.jp/inuyasha/. That's the Yomiuri official tv site and message board. Most of the comments on the board are in response to this statement and are from shocked fans. The origional message is from the site moderator from Yomiuri tv and dated the 14th. You can get sraight to the message board here.
http://mscw.msec.ne.jp/ytv-cgi/anime/in ... tayori.cgi Alta vista's babelfish can help translate for you and is a hell of alot of fun.
http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr It's o.k. for getting the gist of what's been written.
I have not tried to translate what Black Jack is about but I've seen the video clip for it and it looks pretty lame. The current video on the screen now shows the upcoming episode with Sango and Kirara in former days. Just click your connection on the upper right.
Sorry about the number 3 for the movie in there. Actually, it doesn't specify which movie is due out in December and I was shouting the translation over my shoulder while I yanked on my clothes to go to work so when I just said "upcomming movie" that's what the person typing put down.
