I remeber talkin'bout this with someone too. Second I saw how Aya was in the anime I just knew she wouldn't be well received by most fangirls. Too be honest she does act kind of ditzy in the first epis. But she evens out later on.

Unfortunatelt I doubt they'd even notice or even bother with that. Too bad.

I like Maya. I just do and in some ways it's probably because I can kinda sympathize with her and her feelings regarding certain matters. Right now I'm neutral to indifferent regarding Aya. I certainly don't hate or despise her character, though the anime version is pretty cruel to her in my opinion. I have to get back on the ball and reading the manga again.

I remember talking about that with you Ryan, how Aya would be poorly received by fangirls about a month ago. I do feel for the girl but at the same time I don't pity her one bit.

But they need to get back to subbing this series for the English speaking folks!!! *whines* C'mon, I need some TenTen now!!!

~Wicked

NOTE: I understand that things come up and subbing groups are not superhuman computers that can bang out subs. I understand that there's a little thing called life which really turns out to be bigger than most people tell you, however I don't care. ~_^

I pity her in some aspects but what irks me is seeing Maya put up on such a high pedistal. I think if it weren't for the attitudes elsewhere(especially of this one chick who I found on LJ and thinks that whatever she says about her views on certain anime titles, ppl should follow what she says, and if that were the case of following, I'd either be hating certain series or hating certain characters  ), perhaps I would've liked her character more.

I don't think I felt pity towards her character, just that she's younger and has to learn alot of things. And it shows how hot headed and headstrong she gets when pissed off. Thats where Nagi comes in and makes his special talks with her that makes her see things clearly. This was the fight on the rooftop that she had with Maya that made her open her eyes more and not to rush into things all the time. (this was later in the manga, not the anime) She grew up more after the troubles she and Nagi experienced when they went off to train together. Ch. #76 (new) made me wanna have tears in my eyes.

But I think many aren't going to see Aya potential in the anime and alot of ppl either don't know or can't get the manga in order to see how these characters will change in the future.

Check the TenTen community, one of the recent posts comments. I think someone who is subbing the series is on there and said about whatever their hold up was, they plan on getting at least 2-3 eps done in the upcoming weeks. Meaning that #13 should be out soon, #12 just came out today!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Me and Wicked already talked, so we already know how we differ on the girls. Maya doesn't as much for me as Aya.

I agree though, that I don't think the anime is going to bring out Aya's finer points, like the manga does. Already 5 eps or so have just dealt on the past arc, so I don't know how they're going to be able to develop much more character depth or storyline in the last remaining 8-9 eps left after the arc is finished. I think this is going to end up being a rushed series towards the end, like so many animes end up being.

Aya's my favorite girl, she deserves more credit then what most fans are going to be willing to give her, plus even if they do somehow improve her character in the anime, the first impression of how she is conceived by most will stick with them. She really doesn't have a chance.

I liked her from the beginning and I'll like her until the end. I just hope the manga continues on in some way over the 'net because when she really begins to kick ass it'll be amazing, but then to me, she already is.

I love Aya! *waves banner* Has anyone scene the part where she was...what was the term...'in perfect groove' or something...with her and Nagi on the motorcycle...

I can't wait for the next chapter of the manga...but I hear it's been licensed...

Yay, a fellow aya fan! That part was so cool. Her and Nagi have had a couple of really cool adventures together. They really do make a good team. :D

If you're reacting on the licensing, I feel the same way, too! I think they've stopped scanlating the manga, but I'm not sure...

Yes, I'm an Aya fan! *waves at War Dove* I love the girl. :D
