Blissful Ignorance

Since everyone else is throwing their two cents in on the matter I guess it wouldn't hurt if I tossed my two cents in too.

Even taking my latest Inuyasha fic into consideration... No I do not like Kikyo. I can't say I hate or that I want to see her dead because she does give the show it's needed drama effect. Yet at the same time I would not miss her and the little montage they put together in episode 123 or 124 made me want to slap Inuyasha silly. But all in all Kikyo is an interesting character though I am a 100% Inu/Kag fan.

Kikyo is made of dirt so if you wanted to be technical you could call her a "dirty bitch". Of course that would be mean.... oh what the hell!

yasha: *gathers MDS SGS and Kagome* wanna bet?

Yasha don't get me involved in this. You know I don't like her, but keep me out of it.

Truth be told, i think that Kikyou's a bitch. --But with good reason. I believe she used to be a very loving person, and she still cares about people...except Kagome and Inuyasha...well, i guess she still loves him a bit, she just wants to drag him to hell with her...talk about a love/hate relationship.

Anyway, she's a main character who's death must be meaningful and all that crap toward the resolution of the plot of Inuyasha. I really hate English...it makes you analyze too much.

I really can't stand her. I know, she is essential to the plot but that doesn't mean I should like her. I didn't like the past version of her either, if she really did love Inuyasha she wouldn't have asked him to change to a human for her. I love Inuyasha but sometimes I think he can be so men to Kagome when Kikyo's involved (Ah the number of times I've cried in those scenes in unbelievable. . I read the first Inuyasha manga back in early 1898, just after Takahashi-sensei released it and almost as soon as I saw Kikyo I thought ; 'I don't like this woman'.

Hmm. I agree that Kikyo is essential to the storyline, if she wasn't there, who else could we point the blame at! (referring to the act of preventing Inuyasha *finally* getting together with Kagome and being the cutest couple ever!)
I'm definitely not fond of how she treats others, but as an anime watcher, think she's an interesting person.
Would I shed a tear if Kikyo finally died? Maybe. But then again, she'd probably try to drag Inuyasha down to hell with her (typical) and THAT IS UNFORGIVABLE!!! DIE, WOMAN, DIE!

Oh, dark-angel, you poor thing...
Kikyo as we know, was a very powerful priestess (miko) who was in charge of protecting the Shikon Jewel. Now, she fell in love with Inuyasha (and vice versa) and they were going to use the Jewel to make him human and her a normal woman... but something very wrong happened.

They fought with each other: Inuyasha was sent to sleep for 50 yrs and Kikyo died, full of anger and hate. Hence, the storyline as we have it now.

Kagome (from the future) is the reincarnation of Kikyo, meaning that they share the same soul, but still are very different ppl. (there are different topics on this issue)

There is also this witch, Urasuae (spelling?) who wanted the Jewel and made a clay likeness of Kikyo. The witch stole the dead miko's ashes and kidnapped Kagome to fuse the soul and bones into the clay Kikyo's body. It worked.

And now, Kikyo swears to get revenge on Inuyasha for the deeds in the past but remains on earth in this clay-body, having to live off the souls of dead maidens in order to remain on this earth.

Sorry this takes so much room. I haven't put ALL the details or other important parts but I hope that helped...

A rather cynical arguement. Is it just flesh and blood that makes us human or are we greater than the sum of our parts. What ever it is she has it.

Lets face it ladies, you dislike her because she is in the way of your your idea of a perfect wonderful romance, and can't stand the thought of hiom loving someone else.

After all what good is a love story without an obstacle. Such things only make sthe bond stronger.

Ya!! I think that about sums it up. She does have her bad moments but who can blame her. She was tricked and murdered. When she died she had to dwell on the idea that the one she loved was responsible. If that doesnt make someone bitter I don't know what will. If she wasn't around Inuyasha and Kagome would have gotten together a long time ago leaving out alot of the suspense.
