Ahh that space whale fossil thingy....probably served no significant purpose to the plot other than to add to the crazy ideas of coordinators and evolution and such. Honestly I don't think the series did very well in delving into the social, scientific, and political aspects of coordinators. Sure they had one explantory episode and some thing about Kira being the ultimate coordinator, but it's still just not enough to quench my thirst for science fiction. If anything, SEED illustrates war and the military environment quite well, as all of the gundam series have. However, in adding such an intricate plot with the coordinators, they should have gone into greater detail.
Anyhoo it was still a shocker to see Kira score with Frey....never thought someone like him would do that but oh well....hmm has there ever been any gundam series with such...interesting relationships going on?
