Yeah the music, they got 2 OST's for this, is really good. I felt at times that they could've done better with the ending, especially with Dio's end. But at least I was happy too to see that Moran is alive and has a family now. That was pretty sad when the kids found their dads plane. I guess they could've done worse with the ending so I can't complain too much.

Came across some news regarding LE, lets cross our fingers that the subbers might be able to get their hands on it, not only that but hoping that they will stick to their word on making this::
The following are anime tidbits of news from various issues of a few of the anime (Japanese) magazines.
OAVs (ie direct to video release)
Last Exile : Gonzo production, 6 episodes, April start ('04)
If this is true, I'm so anxious to see what they will include.

Last Exile comes out tomorrow on dvd but I managed to ask nicely to one of the guys at Best Buy today to see if they might have it in the back. Low and behold, the guy comes back and hands me the boxset, it took all I had not to glomp him
I haven't had the chance to watch it yet but I'll let ya's know how the dub is later tonight.
It will be released as 7 dvds and the 1st dvd has 4 eps on (its a 26 eps long)

Too bad I didn't see this entry earlier..! I recently discovered the series when flipping through Tech TV. I heard so much about Last Exile- I'm so glad I got to see it. I think it's one of the best animes I've seen. Anyway- so any recommended fics? Although I think the series concluded fine, I'm just wondering. =D

Yeah, I caught it on G4, some extra station on cable TV. And, quite suckily I may add (is suckily a word? It is now), I caught episodes 25 and 26. So I experience the bittersweat finale without having a clue as to what the series is about. Granted, I got the gist, and really I got into the characters even with that little bit of exposure. I think they did a good job on the english voice cast. My favorite voice man, Crispin Freeman, was present (woo-hoo!) and someone who sounded a lot like Spike Spiegel, but then I look online to find out who exactly did the voice for Spike and, lo and behold, there were two guys who did the voice of Spike???? (One in the series and one in the movie???) If that's so (I've read confusing reports that they may be aliases of the same guy) then they are DAMN talented because I swear to you it sounds like the same guy, and he has a pretty distinguishable voice.
Anyhoo! What a tangent. So, my ramblings aside, I was pleased with what I saw, the animation was EXQUISITE so I'm excited to see the series in its entirety. Does anyone know if Netflix has an anime selection? Any local video rental store has crap for rent.

I agree with you ice princess. I am extremely fond of the VA for Last Exile. Johnny Young Bosch for Claus- Kari Wahlgreen for Sophia - Crispin (small cheer!) for Alex - the voice of Roger (in the Big O) for Vincent - and so on and so on. I think it's okay that you caught the ending. I find this series to be one well worth watching again. There are so many subtleties that I didn't catch at first, but did when rewatching it! I think the voice of Spike is the same as the one for Vincent.. I haven't checked it, but if memory serves right... As for Netflix, I have no idea. I was lucky enough to tape the entire series on tv when G4 ran a Last Exile marathon!
