Oh yeah, the whole "nobody cares" charade isn't nice! :( Be more considerate to those who come here everyday. We come here for a reason- to read fics, and to finish reading fics. I'm more a latter than the former myself, though I do check out new writers every now and then to give em a chance. But still, a lot of the drive to come here is to finish reading what I've started, and the disappointment of installments not being here is increasingly difficult to handle. So anything related to my readings I, well...read. Okay, enough with that. I loved your prologue and I look forward to reading the second installment of Dangerous Games hopefully soon!

Sissi wrote:Aww Rose, how could you think we wouldn't want the continuation or even the prolougue of Dangerous Games?
I wasn't suggesting you guys didn't want it, I just... The story's been 'done' for 2 years now. I didn't really expect many people to be terribly interested in a prologue to a story that's been finished.
Sissi wrote: DG is certainly an awesome fic, on of my favourite by the way. As Aku said, it is one of the best in the net.
I think you give me too much credit. DG was only the second story I ever wrote, so, I know it can be better. But thank you very VERY much for your kind support. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It makes all the work more than worthwhile. :)
Sissi wrote:This story came to your head out of the blue? Amazing! Well, it turned out really nice, and I liked the way you are portraying Trowa, a little boy who had to learn about real life in such a tragic way.
Yeah, sometimes that happens, which is always kinda cool when it does - at least, for me it is. I started writing this part and can remember sitting in a parking lot with a notebook and pen at dark thirty in the morning, waiting for it to be time for a job interview (that didn't turn out well at all), putting the rest of it on paper, and writing the epilogue section down as well. Which reminds me, I need to get that part together, soon.
Sissi wrote:Relena sounded really cute when she hugged and kissed Heero. She didn't mean what she said, did she? About her loving him, because they are so young!!
She meant it in that sisterly, 8 year old fashion, not the deep, mature attraction kind.
Misato wrote:Good job, as usual Rose! DG is a fav AU fic of mine, I see more of DG2! Oh well, this is still DG, period, so I'm apeased in the meantime I wouldn't mind reading your revision of DG, just keep it coming
Thanks, Misato! I've revised the beginning of DG like 100 times, I swear, but I really should spend some time going through the rest. I did KINDA clean up some of it last year when I submitted it to a fanfic contest, but it really should be gone through again. One of these days....
Katykit wrote:Rose I LOVED Dangerous Games! Woo hoo!
*glomps* Thanks you guys. You're all really too kind, but I'm very glad to hear you enjoyed the story and remember it so fondly even after all this time.
*hugs Katykit, Misato, and Sissi*

Love,
Rose

luvspook wrote: OMG! I just realized that this was a prologue to the ORIGINAL Dangerous Games! Weeeeeeee! What a pleasant surprise, indeed! You know how much I adore this fic! *does happy dance* Still an all-time favorite!
Well, I figured you'd read it even if no one else did. ;)
luvspook wrote:And you didn't disappoint! Poor Trowa! :( No wonder he turned to a life of crime! *hugs 7-year old Trowa* You poor thing, you!
*hugs Trowa* I know, poor boy. I mean, the history was always THERE in my mind, but....
luvspook wrote:And you really captured the broken home feel with the segments between Odin and Heero's mother. I felt so bad for Heero, having to listen to them yell and missing his dad. *sniff*
*hands tissue to Spookyboo* I know, poor Heero. I vaguely referenced the mom OD-ing on drugs in the flashback chapters, once upon a time. She's going to, at some point, get them back for a while, but then fall again into her addiction problems, and that's Odin will end up taking on supporting the two of them.
luvspook wrote:You did an excellent job of getting inside the mentality of a child in both of their roles.
Thank you. That's REALLY good to hear because I didn't know if I had hit the mark on that or not. It WAS something I was worried about. :/
luvspook wrote:I spend a good portion of my day in that mentality, having to raise kids myself, and its not always an easy task, but you really nailed it!
I know you do! Isn't Peter John around 8, now? Thanks again for the feedback on that. *hugs* And thanks for reading it!
Dark Deity wrote:Wow, poor Trowa.. and Poor Heero.. and Relena too... and we all love ye Rose, we welcome ANYTHING (well i do anyway) that you write/type/post. Keep up with some more!!!
Yeah, poor everyone. *sniffles* But thank you! I do appreciate your support, and thanks so much for reading this! :)

Love,
Rose

shadowcat wrote:awesome!! ( like usual, Rose :D )
another great fic!!!

I totaly agree with Dark Diety, I would love anything you post!!!!
*hugs* Thanks shadowcat. :)
shadowcat wrote:poor trowa, he worked so hard to get the milk!!
Poor Heero and Relena, why is Heero acting tough and told her to go away!!!
Because that's what little boys are like at that age. Especially one who has abandonment issues.... Push them away first so they can't hurt you. :(
shadowcat wrote:Rose, don't think that we don't want the continuation of this fic because we do!!some of us( namely me) log in everyday to check if there is a new chapter and get disappointed when there isn't!!Please keep writting!!
Ummmmmm, are you talking about DG2? Or the continuation of this fic? Because THIS story is finished. Dangerous Games was completed in March of 2001, if I recall correctly. I promised a continuation, and I've been working on the SAME ONE I thought of when I finished the original, for essentially 2 years now, and have only 5 chapters + prologue finished, pages of notes, and a plotline that outsmarted me. It somehow took a severe detour into intelligence and counter intelligence missions, and I'm totally screwed until I figure out how to write it. I *will* manage it, it's just taking way longer than I anticipated. *sigh*

But if you're talking about just THIS one, Dangerous Games 1, it's done, and can be found in my Featured Author forum, minus the 2nd epilogue I recently decided to add. Here's a link:

My apologies. It was not a "charade" but rather a note to accompany a prologue to a story that has been finished for 2 years. I just didn't expect people to be terribly interested in back story for a fic that's been done for so long, especially since it has nothing to do with the 2nd story/sequel. I apologize if it offended you in any way.

Understandable. I come here to read fics, too. I'm always TRYING to read new fics and new authors, I don't always manage to keep up, though. It's hard when you run the site, write, and work for a living to really read EVERYTHING I want to read, but I come here every day trying to read through all the things I've seen posted....
Kaili Charmer wrote: But still, a lot of the drive to come here is to finish reading what I've started, and the disappointment of installments not being here is increasingly difficult to handle.
Well, I do apologize for that. I wish I could write faster, I honestly do. I remember when I first began writing and I could put together a couple of chapters of DG and one of Traitor and maybe another of Missing in a weekend. But my writing has changed, has become more labor intensive, and my chapters longer. So that once upon a time when I wrote chapters of 1000-2000 words or so, I could update once a week, whereas now I post a chapter of 10,000 words, but it takes me a month or longer. Okay, so maybe Missing ch 22 isn't going to be 10,000 words, but it's already at 4,000 rough drafted, and I have 2 more scenes to go. But the point is, I guess I thought the quality made up for some, not ALL, but made up for SOME of the additional time it takes. I agree, there's no excuse for taking 9 months to get a chapter out, but unfortunately, I can't just spend my days writing yet. One day, I will, but today, it's not possible.

I am truly sorry for the frustration level that people experience with waiting for my fics, and other people's. I wish there was more I could do.

I provided a link in a prior post, but the story is complete in my forum:

Thanks for reading!
