A/N: Okay, i'm not sure how much anyone will like this poem, but I think maybe people can identify with it. Something that people go to when they need to escape from harsh realties, no matter what tolls it takes on a person until you're too late to realize what you've done.
Full Speed Ahead
Carrying a heavy heart
The dull throb within my chest
Time is distilled,
Ragged breaths cut through the silence
A limitless boundary ahead
Push back the pounding in my head
Thought allude the mind
Faster, sore steps aching towards oblivion
Running towards salvation
Swift legs and tender soles
Fluid motion propelling me from the past
Solid strides sparing me pain
Never looking back, let the scenery hide by
Cannot be detoured, too fast to keep me here; a lack of atmosphere
Breath in deeply
The sensation of being alive
Needing nothing more than myself
Leaving the insecurity
Exhale
Accelerate me faster
Pain is now sensation; it's all I need to know
Gentle winds caress my face
Cool breeze teasing back blonde locks
A pleasant smile
I'm caught in over-drive, there's no way I can stop
Setting a rigorous pace
There's a deep yearning stirring in my soul
My body pulsates
So far gone,
Trying to race into tomorrow
Bursting through with all that's left
The ground is moving too fast
Burning with desire, a girl on fire
Surface ripped from beneath my feet
Reality crashes down
Dark pavement meeting my head
Expelled my soul
Wretched sobs shake my body
Spinning violently out of control
Sad expressions and dizzying lights
Don't look at me with those sad eyes
Ran so fast I transcended my pain
I've reached tomorrow, so I smile
end
all right, still weary about this poem, but I guess i'll see what you fine people all think

Full Speed Ahead (poem)

I'm not afraid of tomorrow,
i'm only scared of myself,
feels like my insides are on fire
and i'm looking through
the eyes of someone else
