Vice Foreign Minister Darlien paced herself down the long corridor. Double doors to her expansive suite just steps in front of her. Upon entering the suite she fumbled with buttons to her pale rosy suit, kicked off her heels and landed face first, on the gigantic four-poster bed.
The sunset had begun and red, orange and pale yellow colors filled the rooms through the balcony doors. The room was cozy and warm despite the cool breeze entering from each one of the open windows. Tall, wide windows with beautiful white and pale blue colors folding down inches to reach the carpeted white floor.
The Minister’s breathing was hard and heavy as if she was having difficulty with respiration. With a heavy sign and groan she flipped herself onto her back and stared at the ceiling for several minutes as the colors of the sun danced around the room. Thinking sad and bitter thoughts as the colors set low.
A soft ‘knock’ ‘knock’ was heard and Pagan entered the room.
“Miss Relena, how was the delegation meeting?”
“It was fine thank you Pagan.” Her words sounded forced.
“I have several messages from your brother Millardo and reports from the Preventers.” He spoke as he turned on the platform T.V. and went through the bathroom doors. The sound of a showerhead soon followed and fragrance smells mingled with the smell of flower roses around the room.
“I believe the Preventers have assigned you new bodyguards for the summer due to the recent incidents occurring between nations.” He didn’t sound lest the bit worried.
“I’m not surprised. The last thing I need is anymore bodyguards.” She sounded angry.
Her face portrayed anger, amusement and sadness all at once. Her chest was shaking and she was moving her body back and forth with her Indian style position.
Pagan just watched as she rocked back and forth. The only sounds in the room were the news reporter on the T.V. and the water running from the bathroom. “I also have some interesting news for you. It seems Agent Heero Yuy is returning from his stationed position in outer space.”
She stopped rocking. Suddenly she rose from the bed and walked towards the bathroom doors. Halting, she stared at Pagan blankly. “Is he coming to the Sank Kingdom as well as my brother?” The Minister sounded amused.
“Yes, I assume that he will be one of the chosen bodyguards for the summer.” He continued. “I’ll give the orders for the maids to bring up your dinner Miss Relena.”
“Yes, thank you Pagan.” Closing the bathroom doors behind her. Emotions well sealed within her.
Now the only image in the suite was the T.V. dutifully running programs and the last of the Sun’s rays reflecting around the room.
