Chapter 8: And the Farm boy said, ?As you wish??





A/N I don't own Gundam Wing or its characters. Those that I have borrowed will be returned after the fic with no damage. Although they might be a little embarrassed by the roles they had to play.








Relena sat with her eyes glued to the television screen. Clutching her favorite teddy bear, Mr. Fuzzles, to her chest tightly, Relena?s lips moved as she silently quoted her favorite movie.
?AH! But I?m not left handed either!? Relena breathed a sigh. ?The dreaded Pirate Roberts is so dreamy.? She told Mr. Fuzzles. ?I just love The Princess Bride!?
Right in the middle of the scene where the little man dies from drinking the poison the phone rang.
?Hello??
?HI LENA!!? Hilde chirped on the other end of the line.
?Oh, Hi Hilde. I thought you?d be in class.? Relena said, puzzled.
There was a pause, then Hilde spoke, her voice laced with concern, ?Well, when I heard what happened to you?I wasn?t getting much work done. Mr. P. excused me to come call and check on you. You are okay, right??
Relena touched her sling lightly. ?Yes, I?m fine. Shoulder?s bruised and I have a mild concussion, but the doctor said I?d be fine in a day or two.? Relena tried to sound positive for Hilde?s sake.
Hilde sighed, ?Well in happier news, Mom told me to have you and Mr. P. come over for dinner tomorrow night. My cousin Lu will be there.?
?You have yet another cousin?do I know her?? Relena was confused because Hilde?s family was quite large.
?She says she knew you and your brother when you were younger?but she just got back from Italy so you probably haven?t seen her for ages. Anyway, she?s going to be taking over Mrs. Hanson?s French class while she?s on leave to have her baby. Mom wants Lu to meet some of her old friends again.? Relena laughed. Hilde?s mom was infamous for her matchmaking.
?I?ll ask Milli, I hope he?ll agree for us to come. What?s your Mom cooking??
?Something Italian. I?m not sure what though.?
The conversation didn?t last much longer, because the bell for Hilde?s next class sounded. With hurried good byes and well wishes from Hilde, they hung up.
Relena lay back down on the couch to finish The Princess Bride, but before the ending came she was fast asleep.

Heero stalked into the library, his color high from anger.
?I can?t believe Duo would?? He didn?t finish his thought as the very person his anger was direct at came into view. If it was possible Heero?s glare turned colder.
?I need to speak with you.? He said in barely checked fury.
?Yeah, well, I need to speak to you too, buddy.? The sarcastic emphasis on that last word would have made Heero wonder?if he hadn?t been so angry.
?Call your dogs off Duo. I heard what happened to Relena--?
?WHAT?? You think I DID that to HER?? Duo asked angrily. ?I didn?t do it?I thought you did it!!?
?ME?!?? Heero gestured to himself. ?I didn?t do it!?
?Well, I didn?t either.? Both boys stared at the other. Finally Duo sighed. ?If we didn?t do it, who did?? He asked the silent boy beside him.
?I don?t know Duo, but I think we should keep an eye on her when she comes back to school. I mean, I don?t want her to get hurt.? Duo nodded thoughtfully. ?I know what you mean. I kinda feel like it?s my fault.? Heero didn?t answer. His mind was already miles away.
?I hope your not going to give up the fight Relena?I still have to beat you?.?

The next day Relena managed to talk Milliardo into letting her go to school, but his only answer to dinner at Hilde?s was ?We?ll see how you feel then.?
Relena sighed, ?I hate it when he says that. What he really means is, ?I might need to use you as an excuse not to be subjected to that nosy woman trying to set me up with some freaky person with bleached blonde hair.? Adults, they never say what they mean.?

Hilde and Cathy met her at the car. Their eyes scanned Relena from head to toe as if looking for some kind of sign of her injury.
?Nope guys, just this stupid sling. Nothing exciting, not even a broken limb.? Relena grinned at their sheepish looks.
?Come on, let?s get away from Milli. He?s due to turn into that evil monster called an over-protective brother any minute now.? Seeing that Relena was indeed herself, Hilde and Cathy relaxed. All three of the girls headed for the door that opened into the halls of Cinq High.

It was lunch. Relena was beginning to regret coming to school. Her head throbbed in time with her shoulder. On top of that everyone either stared at her or was overly sweet and sympathetic. The chair beside her squeaked. Relena though it was Hilde so she didn?t look up.
?Is your head bothering you?? The voice startled her. It was soft and deep. That wasn?t Hilde?s voice?not at all.
?Heero? Heero Yuy? What are you doing here?? She asked in surprise. Heero took his time opening his water.
?I go to school here,? was his dry reply. Relena just stared at him.
?What I mean is, aren?t you usually sitting with them?? She pointed to the benches under the window where all the popular kids sat.
?Well, he wants to set here today, right buddy?? came a voice from her right. Relena almost groaned.
?And aren?t you suppose to be sitting with the other juvenile delinquents?? Relena?s eyes widened as Duo took the seat across from her. Duo tossed her a lopsided grin. ?Hey there little lady, nothing wrong with socializing, right?? Heero remained silent
?What is this? An interrogation? Because if it is, I will state right now that I?m not debating this issue with you now. That?s reserved for the school to decide.? Heero and Duo heard the veiled anger in Relena?s voice..
?We didn?t have anything to do with it Relena.? Heero said quietly without looking at her.
?Yeah and I?ve decided to stay with you so no one tries anything.? Duo grinned, but it didn?t reach his eyes. Relena suddenly saw why they were here. ?They want to?help me?? Relena felt confused and a little touched. They were supposed to be the opposition ? her enemies. Why were they here now, helping her?
?You don?t have to do this guys. I can take care of myself.? Relena said trying to sound brave. Duo and Heero just looked at her. They didn?t buy it.
?Well,? Relena sighed, ?just try not to let this come in the way of the uniform issue.? Heero looked at Relena with his unreadable prussian blue eyes. ?As you wish.?

I *tried* to get Heero to start saying that instead of Mission Accepted, but he's UNTRAINABLE!!!!

Heero: **crosses arms and glares** Mission Accepted, mission accepted.
Rose: CAN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING ELSE?
Heero: I will kill you.
Rose: **bangs head on desk** RELENA! Will you DO something with him?
Relena: *blink* Like what?
Heero: **grins** Well, there is this lemon scene...
Rose: **faints**

I know you posted this forever and a day ago, Hitomi, but I had to reply. I loved it! It was so cute! I thought I was gonna die when I read what she was quoting! I love that movie, too!!! One of my top 3 fav. movies. *nods head over and over* That was great, and I LOVED the part where Heero said 'As you wish'. *swoon* Has he been....dare I say it.....FOLLOWING Relena's favorite stuff to watch?.....did that make ANY sense, Melville....no....Well! I just wanted to tell you I loved it with a passion!
