1. I'm sporadic with my free time. Sometimes I have a lot of free time, sometimes I have none due to my job.
2. I have levels of intensity when it comes to reviewing, and I'll want you to tell me how thoroughly you want something reviewed. If you want someone to read it and say 'cool!'... I can do that.. but that's not how I normally operate. I tend to nitpick from grammar and spelling, to questioning the viability of the plot, and pointing out what I think could make it stronger. Thus the wave of red ink.
3. Most people tell me I'm harsh/blunt. I won't be mean for the sake of being mean, but if I don't like something... I will say "I don't think this works" or "I don't like this." (My favorite phrase is: In the immortal words of someone famous... cope.) But.. I've had a friend tell me that he likes it when I read his stuff and like it, it feels rewarding rather than simply flattering.
I don't like flames. I don't think you should tell someone that something sucks because you had a lousy day, or you like being a jerk. (I've been on the 'net for a while, and I still can't figure out people who go to the websites of shows they hate and post idiotic messages on the guest book..) Thusly... if I don't like something, I will tell you why. It's your choice if you consider it or not. But if you're sensitive about things, I am not the Beta Reader for you.
4. I do not usually read angst stories. I'll read it if you beg me and I like you, but in general.. please don't ask me to review stories in which characters die horribly.
5. I know GW, Inu Yasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Bakuretsu Hunters, Gunsmith Cats, Psychic Academy, Flame of Recca, and others.. But I know the manga better than I know the animes, so keep that in mind. I might post something like "Is this in character for so-and-so?"
6. I'm just a bit picky, neh?
